Only half way through and wanted to say, love the acknowledgement to those who do 9-5! So important. Thanks Holly! :-)
Came here to say the same! Genuinely appreciate it! I work two jobs (one FT & one super PT) but I try to get my walks, hikes, and swims in as much as possible. It’s not easy, but feels good to do.
GIRL, I'm just going to jump on the train of everyone else here who said how amazing it is that you acknowledge how hard it can be to workout after a 9-5! I LOVE being in the gym, but sometimes it is so hard to get there after a long day. I have to remind myself sometimes that the ladies I watch here do this for a LIVING, they aren't doing a whole job then going after work. You are so inspirational and lovely to watch! Thank you for doing what you do!! ❤
So excited to follow along with your triathlon journey! I wanted to say thank you for your comments about everyone being different/ Content being your job. You really are so mature and empathetic to say this - it’s really refreshing to see someone online acknowledge that flexibility isn’t the same for everyone and be encouraging about trying what you can fit in/doing what’s realistic for you and being proud of that ❤
Agree with this so much!! Said so well
You CAN do hard things Holly!! 💖 I’ve done a few Triathlons, and my parents are mad obsessed with it, so a couple of things I’ve learned along the way:
1. Anxiety in the water is real. It may be worth doing a couple of “extra” pool sessions a week that aren’t structured or planned, and just get comfy experimenting with your breath and emotions in the water. That way you aren’t pressured by how many laps or what pace you’re doing, etc.
2. The cap is designed to keep your hair back, not dry. But, if you get a tight cap, you can “double cap” (I know this all sounds super lame haha) and it might help with your hair staying dry. Also be super mindful of chlorine with blonde hair, maybe look into the best way to keep it super healthy if you’re in the pool a lot. Personally I can’t relate being brunette but I know my friends had their hair colour tinge a bit.
3. You CAN do it, and it’s not a case of not being able to do a tri just because you’re a new swimmer. You can swim as SLOW as you like. All you have to do is get through it. It’s very uncommon that there’s cut off times for disciplines (usually only big events or Ironman events), so my plan was always just to stay *calm and cool* in the swim so I can shine in the “on-land” disciplines 😂
Happy to give all the advice I’ve learned. When I had to do my first one 10 years ago in PE class in Year 12, I couldn’t swim AT ALL. It was embarrassing and hard and came with lots of emotions. But I did it, and I’ve done lots and lots of hard things like that which have paid off so much, including introducing Mum to triathlon (and teaching her how to swim) who is now an IRONMAN finisher!! She never learnt to swim as a kid because she had a near drowning experience when she was young.
Long long comment (sorry), but it’s all very relatable, so I know for a fact you can do this ✨
I love this! so cool
These are great tips🙌🏻 now we have Aqua Guard along with other products that work well. As a blonde kid we either had this green gel that took out the chlorine (that was a treat) but mostly my mom washed my hair in apple cider vinegar because it was more affordable. Not fun. I hated it.
these tips are so good! thank you for sharing, and for your story! 🥰
So here for the swimming content! Swim caps control your hair, make you more streamline and stop hair going into the pool. Definitely doesn't keep you dry! And the effect of swimming on your lung capacity will be amazing for your running 🙌🏻
I don't think you understand how much your videos help and motivate us! My husband recently relapsed, and I took it really hard. It's easy to wallow in sorrow and eat bad and not exercise when you're depressed but your videos inspired and motivated me to not miss a day working out, to rest, to give myself love and to eat well. Thank you so much for doing what you do. I've never been into running, but I'm seriously thinking about starting 😊. Love you! ❤
hope you and your husband are doing well 💙
i don't work a 9-5 but working full time with very laborious job on my feet, i appreciate the mention that many influencers are inspiration and not aspirational for some. wish i had that time to workout lmao! someday :))
Happy for your new journey. I’m sure you’ll smash it.
And thx for pointing out that with a 9 to 5 it’s difficult to train for those things. Social media often gives the feeling everyone has to do it.
I have been doing triathlons for years. I do not need all those accessories to begin. Im happy for you and love your content. All you need is goggles a cap and a bike. I am frugal but I believe starting q new hobby just test before purchasing everything. ❤
Also in open water triathlons there are lifeguards in kayaks every few metres all around the course keeping an eye for anyone who just needs a rest/gets cramp, as well as obviously to pull anyone out who needs help, so if the worst happens on the day you can can still know you’re not in danger. I find that having them there really helps me to keep calm in the open water, hopefully it helps you too :) ❤️
Congratulations on 100k!! That an insane accomplishment and you totally deserve it and more!
Amazing watching your journey Holly - all here for you, girl ❤️
Been looking forward to this all week 😅🤩 well done Holly you’re such an inspiration! 💕
Holly I love seeing you so happy!!! ❤️
Just starting my running journey today-about to graduate with my BSN on Saturday and now onto my next long term goal: Running a marathon! Thanks for inspiring, my friend ❤️ Trying to get like you when I grow up 🫡
congrats on 100k! also, just want to say that you are looking incredible! your energy, tan, hair….everything ❤️❤️
don't worry about the swimming!! it always feels so hard getting into it but with your fitness you'll find it SO much easier within 2 weeks!! also, when we used to have long sets we'd write them on small whiteboards and put them at the end of the lane - just so you don't have to keep getting out to check your set! You're doing amazing! Good luck! x
so so proud of you ! you are a huge inspiration to me always
I haven’t watched you for very long, I’d say 5 months, but in that 5 months you have completely changed my mindset and can honestly say I think I am a better person because of you. You’re absolutely smashing it. Please never stop!!! Can you post some meal ideas and how to make them (I’m so fussy and really struggling) and also some newbie gym ideas please💗never stop being you🫶🏽🫶🏽

Thank you for being along for the ride with me !!!!❤
listened to this vlog while on my run thanks holly!
That Yosemite half looked amazing! I’ve done the Grand Tetons half through the same company and it was an incredible experience. Now I want to do as many of their races as possible. Good luck on your triathlon!
You are inspiring, should be proud of everything you have achieved❤️
Lovely video and well done! Thankyou and Thankyou for being open and honest and with the comparison thing not many share that- nice to hear that :) you are an inspiration I have my half in four weeks starting to get anxious :) would love to do a Tri one day but open water for me scares me x
Omg I am livinggg for you becoming a triathlete!!! You can absolutely do it and I'm so excited to watch your journey! I'm 28 and I've only started running in the past couple years. Your training has been so inspiring! I was on swim team in high school, so it will be so fun to watch you diversify your workout routines as well! And as for the swim cap thing... yeah. It doesn't completely protect your hair from getting wet, but it does prevent your hair from getting soaked with chlorine. I recommend looking into chlorine protectant shampoo for after your swims if you're going to be in the pool everyday. I always used it during swim season and it was a big help. Wishing you all the best in your training!! You're gonna kill it💖
Loved this vlog and Congratulations in your 100K Subscribers Holly ❤❤❤❤❤
I've been training for my first half iron man and this content is so relatable. I love it. You are so real and honest. The goggles look great xp Good luuuuuck
awesome run Ms. Holly watching your videos is inspiring thank you 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
This makes me miss swim team so much!!! Swim workouts will make you feel SO STRONG. So excited to follow your tri journey! I am so glad you mentioned your job working around the training. I get so mad at myself at times for skipping a workout or missing one because work drained me so much all day. I should not be mad for taking a break and listening to my body. Thank you for that reminder.
I’m LOVING your curly hair!!
Congratulations to you for 100k ❤so proud of you ☺️☺️☺️
Thank you 🥹🫶🏼
Holly, I love watching you, you’re beautiful! Your my favorite influencer and your such and inspiration to me and so many other young girls! I’m in middle school, and am beginning my running journey! My goal is to do a half marathon this year! (The farthest I’ve gone is 7 miles!) I did cross country last year and I’m doing it again this year, and need to get back into my running groove ✨ you’re so sweet, keep making vids and I LOVE UR NEW HAIR!!! the curls and length is so pretty! And I’m currently on week 3 of your half marathon plan, you did great designing it! Love you Holly! I’m so happy for you, you’re great! 🩵⭐️🩷

Well done this is amazing! You have inspired me to sign up for the Edinburgh 10k in September xxx
YAY!!! I started running last year and you were one of my first inspos into doing my first marathon and ultra marathon! Then a week after I ran Berlin marathon (again, my first marathon) I signed up for the Ironman 70.3 😂. I’m also a complete triathlon newbie and have been teaching myself to swim and bike more effienciently! LOVEEE seeing you also entering into the triathlon space and giving it a go! It’s like we are sports twinsies hehe
Just completed my first ever triathlon yesterday! Already excited to do it again! Know you’ll feel the same!
Amazing! You will smash this xx
Your hair is absolutely gorgeous. Dead serious. 😍😍
The curls are so stunning ❣️
Congrats on 100K! 🥳🙌🏼 usually swimming pools are 25 meters long, or 50 meters long if they’re Olympic sized pools! so 2 “lengths” would be up and back, which would be 50m total, 4 lengths = 100m etc… hope that helps!
Hey Holly, I am currently on week 7 of your half marathon plan and I enjoy it so so much! Lots of love from Munich 💖
This makes me so happy!!!!!🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Goodluck on your new journey Holly, you've got this ❤ Can i ask where your necklaces are from? Specially the one with your initial 🥰
Love this triathlon journey, as someone who runs and cycles but haven’t yet dived into the tri pool
Good Luck for it all! Strength Training Vs Hyrox / CrossFit style workout whole different ball game but so much fun!
I said to myself the second I saw you get a bike that you’d do a triathlon! I’m so excited for you!!!
Hey Holly if you need another vlogger to follow who's inspirational, I look forward to nutty foodie fitness like I look forward to your vlogs. Love that you're branching into new areas in your fitness journey 💪
Yay triathlons!! It’s so nice to cross train! 😊 swimming is so hard so well done to you! If you did 750m you’ll be good for the sprint!!
As a fellow curly girly I'd love a video on how you touch up your curls after sleeping. Yours look sooo good, I could never😩😍
I find it helpful to write my session plan on a piece of paper and then put inside a zip lock bag that you can keep at the end of the pool, rather than trying to memorise or check your phone each time 😄 You go girl! So awesome to see. Ps. De-chlorinating shampoo is a lifesaver!
My comfort youtuber As Always Holly🥹🥹🥹♥️♥️♥️
🥹 thank you, have the best Sunday
Hey girl! Review the standards for your squat depth on the wall balls. If you have a good judge, those wouldn’t have counted. Just looking out for you!
Girl!! I’m about to be in NYC next week toooo
Loving your curls
So excited for you for this! 🤍
That looked awesome, I would love to do that race someday! Have a recurring knee injury though that gets aggravated on long downhills, so a bit worried hearing how much of the course is downhill. Did you make it into the national park? Yosemite National Park is absolutely stunning.
Love your videos Holly 😍🫠
Some swim tips.
Wrote your programme on paper and put it in snap lock bag on the side of the pool.
Your watch will only count laps that your arms moving so if doing drills and kicking it does not count. Garmin has a drill setting under swim.
Holly your facial expressions throughout this vod has KILLED ME lol
Swimming pools are usually 25m, if you’re lucky and have an Olympic sized one its 50m ☺️ I am also trying to get into swimming a little at least in summer, because I love being in the water when its hot😊 don’t overthink it! 🙌🏻
Oh man, my first time training in the pool I was slightly overweight and super self conscious so I found a pool with lanes open at night. Had the whole thing to myself to experiment and build strength. I think if I hadn’t found that I would have quit. Night swims, to shower, to dinner to bed… I slept like a rock during that phase!
Holly you should try EFT tapping for the memory of when you couldn’t swim anymore, it could help neutralise it & then you won’t feel the fear anymore 💪🏼
Never in my life have I wanted to do a triathlon, but this has made me at least want to try incorporate swimming into my training and see how it goes.
Lovely vlog as always holly! May I just point out that’s it’s just Triathlon and not triatAlon? Sorry for being picky, but I can’t unhear it 😅
triathlon?! GO YOU GIRL✨🫶🏻
Random little tip - soak your hair before you put on the cap and get in to prevent the chlorine from destroying your hair.
What was that workout music? Need that on my Playlist asap. Love your videos! 😊
Did anyone else recognise heather from GTN’s voice? 😂 go on Holly! I reckon you’ll love tris!
What is the name of that music 🎶 🎵 Holly you have been inspiring me to run and train again 🥰😘 I love your videos so much ❤ keep up the good work 👍🏼 ❤
You don’t have your white Jeep anymore ? 😮
Thank you for your videos, so inspiring 🤩
In America the pools are typically in yards and not meters and therefore a bit smaller
Any chance you can share where your navy and white one piece is from? 🥰
Definitely not necessary to buy all those swim toys early on. Most pools have communal pool buoys and kick boards (which are the only training tools you NEED imo).
100K!!
What was your elapsed bike time
I love the way you said "thanks Bye" to the waitress as if you were never going to see her again😅 that's something I would do too lol x
Exciting times ahead! Get ready for a lifetime of purchases 😂 you’ll be fab! If you need any tips/advice then let me know! X
Drinking game: take a shot every time Holly says triathlon 😂
You’ll need to get some swimmers shampoo! To protect your hair
Completely out of context. But can you please link your neck Jewellry links pleases! ❤️
Your first half was 2:15 ???? 😮
wow your long curly hair 😩
We all going to ignore the fact she threw water over herself at 6:12? 👀😂
Hi! Who do you like to follow on social media for inspiration on triathlon? I need inspiration like your content:)
I recommend Jolyn for cute sporty swimsuits!
