I never understood how people recommend customs as a beginner map since it is easily the second most crowded map after factory which basically counts as a pvp arena
I think it’s just because it’s relatively simple. There’s multiple paths you can take to get to the other side of the map, you can somewhat avoid players. Most maps have places that all the players cross through at some point because of loot. Like woods. There’s tons of caches on woods but nobody really knows where they are so everybody just flocks to the same places, forcing engagements. In customs you can choose to just not go to a place and there will be somewhere else along the way that might have loot. And like I said you might just dodge all the players.
I think custom being crowded with players is the main reason people recommend it how are you going to get better at the game and gunfights if you avoid players all the time and are scared to fight. It sucks getting smacked trust me I know but you will se improvement engaging in gunfights all the time you will get better. It doesn't happen over night
Honestly man, Tarkov has a mind of its own. I survived 10 raids in a row and absolutely mopped the floor with some Chads using nothing but a Toz w/ 7.5mm buck and no armour. The very next game I go in with an AK, BP ammo, class 5 armour and got killed by a random grenade 5 minutes in. The best part was that the grenade wasn't even thrown at me, the guy hucked it too far and I just happened to have it blow up on top of my head. God damn this game is awesome.
I know man. I just started playing and it freakin awesome. I got lvl 7 last night. Saves 2.5 mill about to buy my first scav box once I get to 3.5 mill. Csnt wait to get the box stash is so full. Me and my mate are getting over gear fear and starting to fight more. I played solo first 40 hours and meant him on discord and we been raiding ever since. I cant wait for the open world streets map wwith safe zones and vendors on the map that is gonna be dope
It might be a little late of a reply, but pretty much. I did exactly as he said except I started learning the customs map from Escape From Rust. Built mechanics on top of the one map and then learned woods just going in and reading the map while I walked it. Took 3-4 days of 5-7 raids per day on woods. Then did shoreline with all the quests there. Tried reserve and gave up on it till later. Lighthouse is super easy to learn the key points. Just do the quests, don’t worry about the loot. It’ll come to you.
Feels like the lesson here is to be the more aggressive player. Run in the room gunning. Don’t try to hold angles. Which is counter intuitive but seems to be the recipe for success. Still easier said then done
Easier way to get off that roof, the place you fell off trying to jump across. Instead of jumping off, crouch next to the corner and step off the side while hugging the wall. You can land on the window below and then either go into the second floor or fall off again to be on the ground. It's funny because the moment you turn in the Reshala quest, it kinda wants you hunt his group down again for the "scavs in police outfits" quest, so the game sticking it to you kinda backfired LMAO.
This game can be frustrating sometimes, for example, I’ve only recently started playing tarkov, so around 2-3 days ago, I was in a raid on customs on my pmc, I made sure to learn the map well enough before going on it. I don’t really know what I was trying to do, mostly caches and scav kills for my debut task. All I had was an sks, SSH-68 helmet, a sling backpack and a starting paca armor vest. So I was roaming around the long road in the middle of the map, when a super geared pmc came out of the treeline, in hindsight, he wasn’t super geared, but for a noob like me, it was a dream come true. We both fired at each other and he hit me hard, but I came out on top somehow. As I looted his body, I put on his rig and his nvg helmet, and put his ak in my second weapon slot, he also had a salewa kit, which I needed for therapist, so I put that in my gamma pouch and headed for the dorms car extract. I had found a wallet in a previous scav raid so I had that in my pocket with 7k rubles inside of it. With all of this loot in my inventory I popped a painkiller and started to head to dorms. I didn’t realize (due to my inexperience) that my thorax and chest were almost completely dead, and I didn’t have any meds other than the salewa kit, painkillers and Vaseline. I didn’t want to use the salewa kit because I didn’t know if it would become ineligible for turn in to therapist, so I pressed on. I made it passed the dorms and over the knocked down fence, and when I was around 20 meters away from extract, I succumbed to my wounded thorax. I was beyond shocked, and became very angry. I calmed down a bit when I realized the salewa kit was still in my gamma pouch, but I was once again made angry when I realized I couldn’t turn it in due to the fact that I died. Very frustrating, but a good learning experience. I know that most people reading this don’t care, but I needed to vent so here we are. Thanks for reading my Ted-talk 😅
Lol my friend just know you are not alone. I haven't gotten so frustrated on any shooter in my 30 plus years of gaming. I'm about a month in and struggling getting to lv15 for that ll2 goodness I need so badly.
On the subject of level 15+ higher going hatchet, they can play how they want lol, if it's a random nobody hatcheting it's terrible apparently but if it's a streamer doing it for the luls it's fine lmfao
4:38 see when I slow peak a repeat angle with a reflex optic, against someone holding an angle, I typically do not get the additional time to set up my sight on them
Killing the hatchet runner was just uncalled for, he was probably just a causal player, running a quest, who can’t play everyday so he’s hot good enough to take dorms geared. Pretty toxic behaviour to kill those guys
Hi friend, I hope you have a good day 👋🏻 Keep up the good work. This video is great. You will definitely succeed. I hope to see you one day except for the big channels 👌🏻
I respect you Lew and your videos are very well made, I don’t really care for your attitude but your content is great. Let me just say you are definitely not an average skilled player 😅 I put myself as average and I have around 35-40% SR with 200 matches this wipe(I started late this wipe btw) and comparing you to most people I play with and also streamers and youtubers I watch. I would put you in the higher end of the skill level spectrum, you have incredible game sense and aim, I would put you in like Pestily level of skills but you consistently do well in your videos so kudos to you man. Keep up the great work
i hit elite str, elite end, 50 mil roubles, max traders but no matter what i try to do i cant get good :( i only die to one taps or wallbangs. of course like 1 in every 20 raids i wipe out a duo or a quad but every “fight” i get into usually results in immediate death. i dunno how to get over the feeling of losing, because obviously money isnt an issue. i can build meta guns and run decent armor, but it’s no fun losing over and over again.
It’s my first wipe and I’m not very good at the game, I have this issue when playing by my self where my nerves/ adrenaline kick in and it makes me play so much worse. Any tips for this? I want to do nothing but pvp on customs but I still need to get tasks done for exp since I’m not very good a killing people. I’m level 29 atm. Drop some tips and help ya boi out please.
Experience bro, you need to get used to fighting. My advice would be to run factory with a pistol or shotgun for a week. That'll get you used to fighting PMCs
@@2Lew Or it will completely destroy the confidence if all you can afford is TT Pistol no armor and scav gear runs. So you gotta take that into account too, most beginner players ( under or around 300hours ) will basically never use gear better than the starter gear of Standard Edition. Some wipes ago I was like level 43 running with PACA, SSh-68 and something like stock AK-74, took some of my decent gear few times and died without even knowing from where I got shot even while being super careful and "scanning" everything, making sure no one is behind etc, but when I don't take decent gear nothing like that happens often cause I'm less careful :D The best way to play is probably go into stupid mode ( do the opposite of what you would do IRL or Mil-Sim game ) and run around like it's CoD ( just like Pestily runs around without checking anything and all opponents appear in front of him like in some oldschool linear FPS ), that way you end up most lucky ironically and do craziest shit but if you play slow and careful it's just a matter of time when you get one tapped.
@@ExacoMvm I have 300 hours and my second wipe, this time i tried to rush lvl up traders and i have all at lvl 3 now, this makes it possible to run consistent lvl4 armor and a my M4 with 47recoil and 40rounder mags cost 220-250k rubles depends on supressor. I find it very easy to make money with shoreline keys night runs and low pop servers its very grindy and boring but i do this until i have 2-3mill then i go loose it all on customs. But you are right about the slow playstyle and crabbing around, this will only make you dead and nervous.
My first month and 130 hrs in i allready feel this game is easy when u really focus on your mission rather than get carried away by the loot and start to wonder off. Mission becomes first allways no matter what. Have 1 goal for raid and focus on it. If u dont u die. Just like in the military.
Have yet to fully grasp customs, always running around like a headless chicken and end up getting tap in the head, or being pushed by 3 pmcs. Watching your video makes me want to run customs more to understand the map and be a little more agro tho
They do move faster, because tarkov has this amazing skill level system build into the game. Where higher level pmcs can run faster and jump higher or turn better than you can. So in other words the more they play the better they get. Literally.
bruh some of these shots you make on people are wild af, like I genuinely cannot see them at all, even after you shoot them sometimes I still don't see them.
The fights I get into tend to have one of 5 results. 1. 40% I escape 2. 30% I die within seconds 3. 25% I am able to get a seize fire 4. 4% I survive a little while and they hunt me down 5. 1% I escape, but bleed to death It is hard playing this game as a pacifist. I barely reached level 21 after all this time
im getting pushed by trios and squads and usually i kill at least two but then I get clapped by the last one. I also often get third partied but now I know to put myself in positions were I can’t get third partied
It’s all about attitude and skill. I have the attitude I can win, and the skill I can win fights. But I’ve had teammates that are so pessimistic and so toxic and have 0 confidence and I just run to extract and find new teammates ones that are not dickheads
Oh yeah? Not to brag or anything but, i once had a brand new gun jam on the first magazine 3 raids in a row. Guess you could say I'm some sort of prodigy or something.

Killing the hatchet runner was just uncalled for, he was probably just a causal player, running a quest, who can’t play everyday so he’s hot good enough to take dorms geared. Pretty toxic behaviour to kill those guys
Your videos rock bro, keep it up.
You're definitely not an average player. I got a lot to learn still to get to your level
Thank you dude!
Мой брат как всегда на высоте! Рад что продолжаешь радовать своим контентом. Спасибо!
"Even though we had a little mess in the showers, I came out on top" 😳
I CANT JUST BE WAITING AROUND FOR SHOWER BOY. hahaha
why is this looking like a comic? so colorful, that hurts the eyes ;)
Michael Jackson Moonwalkin’ with tha pistol on’em.
Hi friend, I hope you have a good day 👋🏻
Keep up the good work. This video is great. You will definitely succeed. I hope to see you one day except for the big channels 👌🏻
this dude drooping runescape references
I respect you Lew and your videos are very well made, I don’t really care for your attitude but your content is great. Let me just say you are definitely not an average skilled player 😅
I put myself as average and I have around 35-40% SR with 200 matches this wipe(I started late this wipe btw) and comparing you to most people I play with and also streamers and youtubers I watch. I would put you in the higher end of the skill level spectrum, you have incredible game sense and aim, I would put you in like Pestily level of skills but you consistently do well in your videos so kudos to you man.
Keep up the great work
You arent average either bro. Slightly above average.
He’s like: keep losing fights watch me win this will make you better
Man you doing a very good videos I like them I hope see more videos in TH-cam for that I can watch it in the morning 😍😍
Bless you
Map knowledge and a good bullet seem like the most effective weapons. Cheers
So good again. I´d say the best EFT YT content out there. Love that british humour btw tho. Keep it going! GGs
What do you use to edit your videos? Im looking at filming youtube videos to promote my twitch account.
Premiere pro
i hit elite str, elite end, 50 mil roubles, max traders but no matter what i try to do i cant get good :(
i only die to one taps or wallbangs. of course like 1 in every 20 raids i wipe out a duo or a quad but every “fight” i get into usually results in immediate death. i dunno how to get over the feeling of losing, because obviously money isnt an issue. i can build meta guns and run decent armor, but it’s no fun losing over and over again.
Some wipes ago I was like level 43 running with PACA, SSh-68 and something like stock AK-74, took some of my decent gear few times and died without even knowing from where I got shot even while being super careful and "scanning" everything, making sure no one is behind etc, but when I don't take decent gear nothing like that happens often cause I'm less careful :D
The best way to play is probably go into stupid mode ( do the opposite of what you would do IRL or Mil-Sim game ) and run around like it's CoD ( just like Pestily runs around without checking anything and all opponents appear in front of him like in some oldschool linear FPS ), that way you end up most lucky ironically and do craziest shit but if you play slow and careful it's just a matter of time when you get one tapped.
Whenever the Adrenaline hits for me, i just play aggressive as fuck.
My first month and 130 hrs in i allready feel this game is easy when u really focus on your mission rather than get carried away by the loot and start to wonder off. Mission becomes first allways no matter what. Have 1 goal for raid and focus on it. If u dont u die.
Just like in the military.
until your mission is to do a dumb task that you just cant finish like kill 3 pmc's with a pistol. 120 factory runs and not a single kill.
@@bradjones7491 finished that mission with easz . M9 and shotgun. In customs. Legshot and rush with pistol. Not that hard.
Gosh. After watching your videos i almost want to play tarkov but then i remember how much fear and anxiety it puts into me.
8:52 why kill him? Im genuinely interested what was going through your head to specifically seek him out and kill him even tho he didnt fought back
The way this vid starts out is so fucking 🔥🔥🔥
gonna wait until the dynamic loot gets established before i start grinding again, the content our lord and saviour 2lew provides will suffice
I hate how loot focused tarkov is. Why cant we pvp like the old days
@@yejoyt because you need money to pvp
the loots not that different tbh
Loots still good. Plus there's a whole ton of new spots I've been seeing, makes exploring fun.
Have yet to fully grasp customs, always running around like a headless chicken and end up getting tap in the head, or being pushed by 3 pmcs. Watching your video makes me want to run customs more to understand the map and be a little more agro tho
I swear when I watch youtube of other people playing Tarkov their character moves like 10X faster than mine when turning or aiming.
They do move faster, because tarkov has this amazing skill level system build into the game. Where higher level pmcs can run faster and jump higher or turn better than you can. So in other words the more they play the better they get. Literally.
Your defiantly not a passive player and is probably your biggest skill set! Nice plays mate! 👌
I like to play aggressive for sure, usually gets me killed tho
I'll save you the full video 14:09 Don't lean left
bruh some of these shots you make on people are wild af, like I genuinely cannot see them at all, even after you shoot them sometimes I still don't see them.
Hi ! Does putting the tac device on the left side of the gun helps you in hip firing ?
Thanks for your content !
Great editing, great aim, godly voice. Subbed.
How long have you been editing/creating content, by the way?
thanks brother, I have had a little experience editing in the past
"He was hiding in the showers... what do you want me to say to that?"
DONT DROP THE SOAP?
LUL
😭🤣😂
Keep losing fights ? "see's a man with a knife saying cease fire hold your fire immediately taps him with chad shit"
Man, the old m4 was a beast.
loving content. started watching v recently as ive got back into the game ur vids r very well edited good work on the content man!
Thank you brother
@@2Lew :))
Amazing content as always!! Keep it up bro!
thanky youuuu brother
“i’m an average player” bro i’m an average player. You would shit on me like it’s a casual thursday afternoon
9:00 bruh he doesnt even have flea he's trying to do tasks
didnt realise you dont have access to guns till level 20 🤔
You did that hatchling dirty
having that issue of " 1200 dmg dealt to body " 0 kills even tho thats to the same dude in one mag dump...
The fights I get into tend to have one of 5 results.
1. 40% I escape
2. 30% I die within seconds
3. 25% I am able to get a seize fire
4. 4% I survive a little while and they hunt me down
5. 1% I escape, but bleed to death
It is hard playing this game as a pacifist. I barely reached level 21 after all this time
1:49 bro.... Rashala would have shit on me. I’ve NEVER had that much time to react to scav boss or his minions.
you got my sub just for the lumbridge comment, quality content bud.
Not me playing OSRS while watching this video and you mention lumby 👀
hehehehe i love sneaking in a cheeky osrs reference
Love the vids ,keep up the good workkk!!
im getting pushed by trios and squads and usually i kill at least two but then I get clapped by the last one.
Just died in fac when my 99 durability mpx jammed in the middle of a cqc fight
😂😂😂
Same with mp5 😄😭
Oh yeah? Not to brag or anything but, i once had a brand new gun jam on the first magazine 3 raids in a row.
Guess you could say I'm some sort of prodigy or something.
hey 2lew what’s your dpi for tarkov if you don’t mind me asking? or is there a vid on it
Domed a poor dude that should've watched your video. Good one mate :)
Why do you keep the thor integrated armour in your bag instead of replacing the trooper for it. Is it for mobility? Btw epic video as usual
Not sure what part you mean, but I assume the Thor was busted up a bit? Not to mention the trooper armour is ultra light weight
@@2Lew from about 5 minutes after u dome the shower man. I would've worn the Thor because its lvl 6 but I trust ur judgement and wanted to understand the reason. It's so cool that u reply to all ur comments btw!
AVS, AK-47M this guy was roleplaying rashala guards xD
I love your videos I enjoy your content and I have seen improvements since I have tried your tips keep it up (:
Aye nice dude!
@@2Lew thanks man and btw you are way above an average player u are one of the best players I have seen on tarkov so far give yourself a little more credit I just hope one day I can be on that level
I been watching your vids then this one! "Like using home tele to lum" yea thats a sub for me! CHEERRS GAMER!!
Can you drop your post fx, they are insanely cool
chads hate this man for one simple trick
I always bring a hemostat just in case I get that pesky can’t stop heavy bleed because of a blacked out limb
yo this is insane because I haven't had shit for loot in raids all wipe and yesterday I killed Rashela twice once for the quest and then also had a 5 pmc raid kinda crazy
5:03 little did you know you couldn't have put that better
