The beautiful and talented Melanie. You are so sadly missed each and every day. You left this world far too soon. Your talent will live forever in your TH-cam tutorials. 😢x
Still enjoy watching her videos. RIP. GOD BLESS HER💔💔
I love this video! I have the ruler . Haven’t used it yet . Sure do you miss you .
Fantastic method! Still love seeing you and your beautiful Spirit!
Just got my flying geese ruler and now that I have watched you video I can’t wait to make these, thank you so much Melanie😊
Wawi love your channel. I'm a newly retired manicurist. I'm craftsy but I haven't made much. Just a few Poodle Skirts. I will follow along with your tutorial to tackle my first quilt. 🤗
As a newbie to this pattern, I really appreciate the step by step instructions in this video. I cannot wait to go home and try this pattern. keep you posted.
fun!
Great. I have both sizes of Eleanor Burns flying geese rulers for years.
Thank you Melanie, I will be starting my flying geese baby quilt tonight.
Great tutorial! What sizes where your two pieces of fabric at the beginning? How much of each of the two fabrics would you need for an x-long twin quilt. I'm a beginner and could use the help. Thanks melanie!
Great method Melanie
Beginner quilter here, followed along with you to make my first beginner quilt. You explained so well I made a second on both given to my granddaughters. How can I get the instructional pattern for the Flying Geese Quilt? Enjoy watching your videos I am now interested in quilting.
loved! this video! I love quilting but I am a biginner so I would love it if you should us how to make make more blocks! you teach very well! thanks Melanie
I like this method. Would this work for various size squares?
that purple grey piece you had at the end is gorgeous! in the beginning i could also get a peek of the backside which was also looked so pretty!
great tutorial Melanie! A very easy way to make flying geese.
Very nice tutorial Melanie, I don’t have the triangle ruler, what can I use instead? Thank you in advance.
Brilliant method. Thank you so much. I'm going to try this.
i just bought the two smaller rulers from that set, so perfect timing. thank you!
awesome!
Wonderful tutorial Melanie! I actually really liked the block before you even trimmed out the flying geese! At 12:29 that would make a really cool quilt having nothing but blocks like that. :D
Melanie if you were making the smaller flying geese on the same ruler how do you recommend trimming bottom?
I’m guessing you put the two front pieces together while sewing, right? Because you have a solid color ur using.
I have that ruler! Great job explaining it Melanie. Thanks
Thank you I think it is amazing. You never to old to learn
I will be making this quilt, thank you
Hi Melanie, the purple quilt you made is absolutely gorgeous (Finley's quilt). Can you tell me the fabric line you used for it? It's just so beautiful!
Hi Liza! Thank you! I actually used fabric from I think 6 different lines. There is some Robert Kaufman, Cotton and Steel, Moda, and random prints from my stash/scraps as well ;)
Great Tutorial. Thank you Melanie. x
Do I spy minky in your stash? Would you consider making a video of tips on how to use it in quilting? I really struggle with it!
What sizes are your squares
I see this is an older post but hopefully you will see this. Can you give measurements in a chart form for all the different size flying geese? This would be most helpful 😊
My fabric edges Frey instantly as i work with it. What fabric should i use
Starching your fabric helps reduce fraying.....
Also batik fabrics has minimal fraying....good luck
What a great way to make flying geese
Right?! Easier, faster and more accurate... I mean it's genius!
I have never seen anyone use the left side of the presser foot for a quarter inch
how does this ruler work for lefties? I can't use a rotary cutter right handed.
as long as you line up the lines along the "geese" triangle portion, you can cut it however is most comfortable for you!
Really great!!
Love it!
Thankyou
this is so cool.
I really like this technique! The sewing before cutting would be alot easier for me, a beginner, who's very intimidated by the 1/4 inch seam allowance. Thanks!
❤❤❤
Your link for the geese quilt isn't working, and appears to now be an adult site of some nature. Just a warning to anyone else who might be looking for the full guide video on the geese quilt.
