i used to play storm 4 (and 3) so much that’d i’d leave it on in the background as i did other things like homework. this one night, my console was being super slow with the game’s update/download, but i checked in constantly waiting for the ‘ready to start.’ i finally got storm open and left it on the menu with naruto overlooking konoha to let the process finish faster (i dunno, i just wanted to play). so imagine the scene of idling around, warmly hugging your elbows and belly with your bed mattress and facing a window with sleepy street lights with this in the background. the mood was so laid-back, i forgot about wanting to engage in ninja warfare and instead focusing on fighting the sleep that was alluring me away. i lost. but that night was just...special to me. special in such a way that i don’t want to recreate.
