Lyle helped Donovan economically and treated him well and was an amazing friend to him, even brought him to his house etc (testified by Donovan himself) yet he betrayed lyle infront of everyone in the worst way possible..
Donovan seems so consumed with his own story in life, that he paid no attention to his mate sharing a tragic story of "sorrow & understanding" in return..
This breaks my heart. Lyle clearly compartmentalised all the traumatic events that had happened to him up till that moment as a coping mechanism. Really, anyone who hasn’t suffered lifelong abuse (of various kinds) would not be able to fake these physical and verbal responses.
@@eliaol4231if he did lie, probably was because no one wanted to be associated with parent killers at all. he probably would’ve been ridiculed and bashed if he stood up for lyle
30 yrs is more than enough in prison.. why they have to punish them for a whole lifetime ? They are not a threat to society. They are two good people, remorseful, have done so much good community service while in prison. Life in prison is pointless here, because they know they will be regretful about the crime and the brothers will change and become better people in prison.

Is this a direct examination or cross examination? Either way, I dont think the person conducting the questioning is being very compassionate. You can tell hes really struggling 😢 makes me so sad for him and Eric. Classic signs of childhood trauma and abuse!
Is there no one else who has watched-not just parts of, but the entirety of Donovan’s testimony-who found him to be a good friend? Remember, he was a 'prosecution' witness, because Lyle and Erik used his ID to buy the weap-ns. An unbiased, empathetic person can see that Donovan’s testimony was sincere. Yes, he lied to Lyle about going to Princeton, but despite that, he came across as a genuine friend. In fact, I found him to be the most credible witness, and I felt his testimony might have actually backfired a bit on the prosecution. I believe that Lyle didn’t explicitly tell him about the abu-e. Think about it: when Donovan spoke to Bob Rand, it was an informal conversation, not a sworn testimony. It’s likely Donovan wasn’t too worried on exactly who said what or where information originated. The questions on the tape were leading-perhaps not intentionally, as it's common for people to unconsciously phrase questions to prompt a response one is looking for or expecting to hear. In my view, Donovan and Lyle shared an unspoken understanding. I believe that when Donovan opened up to Lyle, Lyle’s emotional response was so raw and palpable that no direct disclosure was needed. To me, that feels even more convincing than words. Additionally, Donovan was not given a chance to explain why he lied to Lyle about Princeton. And despite their friendship ending on bad terms, he didn't use that against him in court. Even when he could have painted him negatively, he didn't. Through Donovan’s testimony, we get a glimpse of Lyle as someone who was trusting, generous and loyal to his friends. Edit: I think it's very important to stay unbiased. You have to consider that due to the extreme pressure Lyle was under, he may have felt compelled to imply a more straightforward disclosure, because he knows the truth and he was understandably desperate for the jury to believe him. Edit 2: How the lie about Donovan going to Princeton came up: To land his job, Donovan claimed he’d be in the area; that he was "planning on" being a student at Princeton. Jamie (Lyle’s ex), who was also working there, heard about it and told Lyle, and from there the lie just grew and grew.
Lyle should have gotten permission from Donavan first before he exposed Donavans own abuse. You just dont ever break confidences like that. He obviously didnt want his SA exposed like that.. One of many stupid things Lyle done that doesnt help his cause. Had he asked permission Donavan might have come around over time and give it. But he didnt

Hi ! I want to know if this is LYLE'S PAGE? THANKS.🥰
If you mean his official TH-cam channel like how Erik has Justice Watchdog, then no, Lyle doesn’t have one. He has a Facebook page though.
