I dont get garmin, they made this huge screen and no touch or keyboard, they have screens now 1/8 of this size and it's easier to use, it's like texting 20 years ago.
excellent video...any chance we can call the knobs big and little instead of inner and outer? while i think i know the difference, some people might think outer means furthest from the panel, and inner closest to the panel, which would mean the opposite of what is meant.
how can i rescale this to fit properly on my screen?it doesnt show the buttons on the bottom (CDI...)!i tried everything, but i wont get it to work?!?!?plz help me
A very clear video on using the G1000 Flight Plan but way too much button pushing and scrolling for me. I'll stick with the traditional FMS. Too much glitz, not enough guts.
+SoCalGuy93065 fisrt of all "SoCalDouche", I have a Plays Station, secondly I actually am a licensed pilot who purchased this shit software. The company doesn't support their stuff. Unless you work for them, mind your business. And if you do work for them, return my emails from 2 years ago!
+kristopher850 Blow it out your ass - I don't take orders from you, or anyone else. The fact that you're too stupid to figure out how to run a simple simulator is your problem, not ours.
Sir, Your Flight Plan Heading is More Advance And Complicated,l will have to get the Video to watch over and over and over again Before l can Compete Your first Style because l think for the Next and Other l must get the experience First tho. Thanks so much for the Video And hi from Ghana.
Now this was GREAT learning the new technology is a little daunting but as it becomes used more & more it will be the same. but its the cost for most of us I just don't have the 50,G's + to get it in my 303. But this video is so good Christiano 7/19/10
That G1000 has some squirrelly effects( this was in a Cessna172). Three or four times now the autopilot was on and a simulation of a strom was entered. Most of the flight went as planned, but flying into a cloud was not a nice thing. Lighting, zero visibility, and the autopilot keep climbing. I took it off autopilot and flew below the cloud. Okay, I thought, maybe I can turn it back on. I did and the crazy thing went into a dive at 1200 feet/m. Turning it back off I regained control of the plane. Looked out the window. I could barely see the airport and manually landed the plane in a rain storm. The pilot killer - if your not extremely careful. I noticed that on the Cirrus vision, and others they have installed a button that levels the plane in case of emergency. I think they know about this problem and have tried to correct it in other aircraft.
Need help please. When I click on the Flightplan the window shows up but has nothing on it even the airport I’m at. Also I’m unable to input any data on it.
@connorord92 Just in case you haven't found out yet, and for others who want to know, this the G1000 training software made by Garmin themselves. Very very very useful for people that don't fly every day, this way you can review what you need to do with the G1000 for your next flight at home and you don't waste time in the airplane trying to re-learn everything.
@hersheytrojans01 Hmmm, I think the people that make this type of comment are initially overwhelmed by the glass complexities. it can be daunting to those not comfortable with this type of advanced technology in the cockpit. and, while the days of analogue gauges, NDB's, VOR's and paper flight plans are becoming obsolete, one need not equate 'simpler' cockpits with the spirit of flying. step up and embrace the challenge of learning the new technology...
When you are flying a plane such as TBM 850 which can fly up to 1800nm , you would prefer a system to make flying a bit easier for you. G1000 is not designed to be put on something like Cessna 140 or LSA aircraft.
Larkland Morley it probably recognizes which airport the aircraft is located at and is used as a starting point; however if you wanted to change the initial fix then you could just put the cursor over it, hit clear, and enter, and put in you new waypoint.
A perfect and clear explanation.. Thnx!
Although this is over 10 years old, this was a huge help in helping finally "get it" on G1000 navigation methods. Thank you!
INNER KNOB OUTER NUMBER AND OUTER KNOB TO CHANGE NUMBERERS IN CVI. THIS EQUIPMENT IS USED IN PART 135.
Your video was very useful, clear and consise. A great help, thanks.
1978 called....they want their intro music back :)
good tunes!
LOL i was thinking more like the mall entrance pavilion called, it wants its music back

@robloxguggi I agree... I'm a gauge>glass man myself. I do like the G500, it's a great supplementary system, but the G1000 is too much.
Thanks helped me on X Plane 11...
I'm not a pilot but when I do a correct vor/dme approach using charts i print on cessna with gauges its much more fun. Go old style.

+atcer uh..no.
DVI-FLIGHT PLAN OR SETUP. EDIT GLIGHT PLAN-USE INNER OR OUTER KNOB. THEN, ENTER TO RIGHT BUTTON.
how can i rescale this to fit properly on my screen?it doesnt show the buttons on the bottom (CDI...)!i tried everything, but i wont get it to work?!?!?plz help me
perfect explanation , thank you
how do you use the created flight for ATC clearance?
to me, the inner knob is the one closest to the panel.
great video!!!
Good,, thank
how?
No video ??
G1000
Too much rapid mouse movement. Very distracting. Put Cursor on a spot and leave it until you give next step. Thanks.

I bought this software, it wouldn't work on my 64 bit OS. I called and emailed for support and never got a response. I would not buy their software.
+kristopher850 Go back to your XBox, troll.

I can do all that on the back of a used envelope.
I think, just maybe, Garmin want's to TAKE OVER. Watch out for the killer robots.
Crap system... Way to complicated and fussy

Thanks so much for the Video And hi from Ghana.
For the first time I'm able to understand this g1000! excelent video, finally a video made with common sense in mind!
Now this was GREAT learning the new technology is a little daunting but as it becomes used more & more it will be the same. but its the cost for most of us
I just don't have the 50,G's + to get it in my 303.

Will the autopilot follow the flight plan?

Don't take this down

great equipment but still overwhelm me

Good and easy video had more fun reading 10yr old comments.....

What's the g1000 simulator are you using?
Very convenient to learn using this software. I bought. It is a whole lot less expensive than to train with the fan running.
Great Video Captain,
Hi from Ghana.
Sound is muffled. Could be clearer.tks.
@FSX404 hey do you know where i can download this software?
Like your departure and arrival airports?
Great Video. Thanks
Nicely done
How do you enter your first way point?
Larkland Morley it probably recognizes which airport the aircraft is located at and is used as a starting point; however if you wanted to change the initial fix then you could just put the cursor over it, hit clear, and enter, and put in you new waypoint.
"inner" and "outer" nob is relative, maybe "big" and "little" would be more appropriate....but thanks for the good vids
