Bruh they got bangers I got a old zune of cl I get there to meet dude in its a old friend lol he's like yeah bro I got alot stuff on here I'm like dude I like it all in this band was on there damn they were my instant favorite
So much so, that Rise let Will and Matt record a second DTBM with Jonny, even after his MacBook scandal, as a part of Emarosa, who was also under Rise at the time... 🤦🏼♂️🤷♂️
Matt Mingus has some of the best drumming I've ever heard. The way he layers everything out. No one plays it like him. He is a fucking mastermind. Mingus for prez.
jonny was a phenomenon in his own during this album and ep before, but damn Swan and the rhythm section of this band are the secret sauce. simply brilliant musicians to break out with this genre of sound. this song is unlike most the other songs on the album, has a beautiful ambiance to match the idea behind the rest of the theme. love it
I listen to Kurt ang Jonny era, close my eyes, travel to past, seeing my life struggle in college. This band get me through rough times, school and house. Thank you so much DGD. I'm not really sure if I ever see you live, but one thing is for sure, I'm one of your biggest fans! ROCK SOLID!
3:52 If that's not some Circa Survive Juturna shit that Anthony Green should be singing over with Mess, I don't know what is. Can you imagine a DGD era where Anthony Green is doing cleans? I have no doubt that that would be one of my top 3 favorite albums.
Yup this song/album got me through many an early morning bus ride in middle school and I’m still cranking it today , even their new stuff is starting to grow on me now the last four albums have had some great tracks
Yeah same been listening for 12 years. Sucks because they used to be my favorite band but their sound is completely different now. Just not a fan of tilian’s voice and nobody agrees with me. Everything up to downtown battle mountain 2 was 🔥🔥 tho
Emarosa’s Relativity is pretty much the closest we could get to a period correct Downtown Battle Mountain 1 and a half. I’m a new school DGD fan but Jonny makes me miss the old them so bad.
Coming back here just to say, this is my favorite dgd song of all time and always will be. I understand the hate toward Jonny but it doesn’t disregard the fact from the emotion and message he put through these lyrics... Thank you Jonny
Everyone says that Jonny Craig doesn't make the band, and he doesn't, but he does make a major impact. When I hear DGD with the other singers it doesn't caress my soul the way this does.
Tiffany Madrox yeah... I'm here for Jonny. I fell in love with DGD cause of his voice. I dont listen to DGD anymore, cause I'm listening to Slaves now.
Honestly this is some of the most perfect music created, regardless of genre. I feel like if I attempted to go into more detail I would simply be offensive to the incredible talent that went into the creation of this song, from any of the members. So I will simply say that I will be listening to this song for the rest of my life, even though I first heard it when I was like 17. It's that good. It sticks. It's good. And thank you for creating it.
+Tiffany Madrox I've always had a love/hate relationship towards Jonny. I know he's a total prick so I don't like him as a person, but his vocals are fucking badass. Tillian does a damn good job tho!
My brother used to play this band all the time back in 2006. I would always hear it being blasted down from the basement. It's all coming back to me as I listen to these albums again, especially the album Happiness (which is the one I remember most vividly) and boy did the nostalgia hit me like a train
So I always enjoyed DGD since the EP, but this song is what truly made me love the band. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard it for the first tome and I think songs that burn a memory so deep into someones mind are a reason why music exists
without a doubt Tillian is awesome. And I like the new stuff.. But I need Johnny if not just for one album or atleast a feature. Nobody is on his level.
I honestly started on instant gratification then moved on. Just now touching some of the other songs in this album, and ugh. So fucking good. Wish I discovered way back when. Though I've heard the other albums. Not disappointed at all. DgD has been a big part of my life since. Helps through them dark times, and is also just a go-to when I'm drawing or painting. ESPECIALLY the older albums. :)
Within two days I was introduced to DGD and Emerosa by two different people. I immediately fell in love with Jonny's voice. I wish I had discovered him sooner!
Guyin Acar idk why but my favorite is Johnny also, but Kurt is exeptional, and I like Tilian alot cuz i seen them live with that line up. I like these guys
I agree. I mean I LOOVE all their other stuff too but this album has the best tone, god it's fuCKING GOLD. that being said, Acceptence Speech is my second fave. then Royal Ocean
This album singlehandedly changed a generation and genre. Still plays strong in 2022 into 2023

Just unbelievable. Still can’t believe this album exists. There will never be anything like this
nothing as good.
Unfortunately
the greatest piece of music ever recorded.
So much so, that Rise let Will and Matt record a second DTBM with Jonny, even after his MacBook scandal, as a part of Emarosa, who was also under Rise at the time... 🤦🏼♂️🤷♂️
Slaves? Emarosa? His solo music?
This song legitimately changed my life back in the day, this whole album actually...
same here man.. song opened a new era.
Came back to it after so many years and the album art alone almost made me tear up a little.
@@YuchiGucci I still cry all the time man, life-changing music especially from someone like me who considers themselves a huge hip hop head...
It's Jonny's voice for me
Very fucking true man
That guitar... holy shit. The crazy riffing of a guitar solo layered throughout the whole fucking song. Its not showing off, but its fucking fantastic
thats Will Swan for ya
+SilversteinRescue Will Swan is probably one of the best guitarists I've ever heard
+Lavender Moon Your forgetting Sean o Sullivan too.
Zach!!!!
Will Swan is a fucking Beast...That's why
Matt Mingus has some of the best drumming I've ever heard. The way he layers everything out. No one plays it like him. He is a fucking mastermind. Mingus for prez.
Yeah man his choice of beats for every DGD song are so creative and interesting
He is a very dynamic drummer!

i just want a whole album of jonny singing like this again soft singing with powerfull screams, we must protect this man
Emarosa’s Relativity is pretty much the closest we could get to a period correct Downtown Battle Mountain 1 and a half. I’m a new school DGD fan but Jonny makes me miss the old them so bad.
the sad part about it is he’ll probably overdose before making a full album
@@eldertoad98he seems clean now?
@@ptrekboxbreaks5198 I made that comment before I had knowledge of his current soberness

I listen to rap but still have an unbreakable connection with the album

my shuffle playlist is hilarious sometimes. can go from 21 savage to dgd in a heartbeat haha.
carl jaysen lol

Will Swan and Matt Mingus are too damn groovy
One of the most iconic albums of the late 2000's. It still holds up so well today.

best dgd album ever. everything was so fucking perfect together.
this song is so beautiful, such a work of art.
I loved old DGD but now I absolutely love their new album. All the vocalists were amazing, and DGD just continues to get better.
Everything they put out has been good IMO.
Seth Littlejohn yeah I definitely agree. But their sound quality has improved a lot I feel like.
DGD 7 is coming soon I'm hype!

You can totally feel Johnny's emotion in this song, It drags you into the song so well and be totally absorbed by it.
