Joji grew up in Japan, but he studied at a Canadian school. Only moved to the States when he was 18. So Japanese is definitely his first language, and English was something he must have picked up super early on, and probably used among his friends.

I envy you because you are able to enjoy Papa Franku on so many more levels than the rest of us :) Thank you for going into details, many reaction videos didn't comment on meaning of the words at all. Great job!
I dont know if you already knew it,but just in case: "chin chin" is also the name of one of his characters (lord chin chin) and I have seen people calling him like this on youtube videos of his actual persona (george miller/joji)
i watched all your filthy frank reaction vids in a row and i love em! im also a japanese student and its been so fun watching your comments on his japanese
Two things. First. Great work with the videos. I enjoy your breakdown and commentary on the Japanese he uses. If filthy Frank videos ever end perhaps you could do other shows! Or just do 101 yourself, maybe more useful ones 😉 Second thing. I found the secret message in the video. I have contacted the interpol and they are on their way to find Carole, this final piece of evidence was all they needed to put her jail for killing her husband.
Your american accent is perfect. Didn't notice that you're german. Now I think you're even cuter than before lol ♥ Love your FF reaction vids, but I also love whenever you explain japanese stuff. Keep it up!
from my experience, i usually hear "ze" used when the speaker is speaking to a group of people. i remember some of my friends used to use it back when i was in elementary.
Alot suddenly made sense when you pointed out Kansai-ben terms, I've heard them over and over through consuming japanese media on youtube but never really noticed it. Alot clicked now. Thanks.
Anyan, I know you have several requests but I highly recommend Hitler's Evil Son by Filthy Frank. I'd love to hear your take on his "german" in that video 😂
Almost for got in morocco and its unbelievable ppl have their own way of speaking their own dialect arabic of course and every place u go have their own verbs and world when it come to expressing yourself even we add frensh or english or spanish words mostly frensh and spanish because we were colonised by these two since 1912
Stumbled across your channel and am binging your filthy frank vids. You're a super chill cool reactor and the aspect ratio of your content is amazing 😁
I really love your energy in your filthy frank videos. Don’t ever stop commenting the way you did in the frank vids . I like when you stop and comment on his actions and dialogue. Your very interesting and might just be what I watch now lol also have my babies 🤣
Adding zu or ze at the end of the sentence in Japanese is more akin to establishing dominance. Which is why only male would use such form. To use it in real life, the most appropriate way to use it is during a battle in war or as an emperor declaring a statement. Which is very rare. Papa Franku does it to establish dominance as a character he plays which is part of the comedy.
I saw a reaction from a guy from Osaka and he said Frank's Osaka dialect was very good. Aside from minor pronounciations where a certain syllable would be elongated or shortened, it was fluent.
Using "zo" "ze" is an informal way of saying something. Its like an identifier that another person is your friend or family member. Its especially prevalent in Southern Japan where my family is from. There is also "Kei" It's like how Canadians use "Aye" when they talk. "How ya doing there aye?!" Wow I think German is the most beautiful sounding language. I've always wanted to learn it. I went to school for linguistics, journalism, and literature. I know that because German and English are 1st cousins, I would have an easy time learning it.
@BladeCast It's hard to explain. My best advice is to forget watching anime and watch Japanese drama. There you will listen to both formal, and informal Japanese. But prepared to be bored. Japanese drama is like an Italian Opera. An episode will last a week and everyone dies at the end.
Cool video, liked the explanations (as someone who is learning Japanese). Btw Joji grew up in Japan and moved to the states for college, he's from Osaka (half Australian).
If you think about it we do have words to put emphasis on expressions in most western laguages only we use 'swear words' to do it. For example 'Let's go, damnit' or 'Damn, he's annoying'. In my experience men do it more often than women here too. :)
@@artifex2.080 I wasn't referring to you in my comment, I'm sorry for misleading you. I was just saying that your comment is like comparing a region of a country to the rest of it a certain way.
Oh yeah with the difference in the dialect, one of my Japanese friends made me listen to a conversation between some one from Tokyo and someone from the Kansai region, and the funny thing is she is from Saitama and her friend who was with was was from Osaka, so they both could hear it very clearly and I couldn't
Holy shit I cannot believe you are not American! I'm English and I never doubted for a moment that you were from the United States. Your pronunciation is incredible.
Nice to see you get the hang of it. Also, at least in my opinion, this is the point of reacting to something - you bring up interesting facts from your own experience and it instantly becomes interesting. Looking forward to part 2 😀👌😁 Don't turn into Filthy Frank reaction channel 😂😁
I'm late, but enjoyed anyway. cant wait for part 2. also, german was the only language in school that I enjoyed learning. I like it's rough sound, i think that's what attracted me to it.

I don’t even tell him who Pink Guy is. (I’m an asshole, I know. Aside from actual serious issues like personal struggles and National/international tragedies, I absolutely love the misery of others.)

My dad was born and raised in Germany until he was 18-19. His step dad convinced him to come to America. He's been drowning in English and he still pronounces english "th" with like just "t". Told me that "th" isn't used very commonly or at all in Germany.

If You think he's hot react to his music as Joji
"Why is he hot?"
Don't worry that's normal. Everyone thirsts for Papa Franku.
Have you seen him wear a sailor uniform? God DAMNNNN!!

I dont know why her analysis of Papa Franku's Japanese is so interesting to me, but here we are....
Its cause she actually dissects it and explains it very well
His voice does sound good when he speaks Japanese. I'll agree with you. XD
