Hey Katie, I use to watch your videos all the time as I had never skated. So at age 44 IKR!, on a whim I took a trip to Birmingham (UK) about 50 miles from me. One of the shops there was an Edea specialist so I walked out with some Overture's. I found out my local rink did tuition and boy oh boy did I luck out. I signed up and ended up working with not one but two lovely coaches. The first one was Vicki, who taught some of the celebrities on the UK "Dancing on Ice" TV show, my second coach Svetlana was a Russian Olympic coach. Well I did the 5am starts daily for nearly two years straight and went from never skated before to being "competent". I was forced to stop when my father passed away (age 85) and I could no longer afford the time to train as I have to look after my mother. But it was an amazing two years and I still skate whenever I get the free time.
Thank you so much for being such an amazing inspiration, and for giving me the confidence to try something new. I hope you are well, and I wish you every success in everything you do.

Is it hard to do the beilmann position? I just noticed it looks like you have a bit of trouble lifting the blade and your leg, so is it really hard? Dangerous for the back?

The Biellman position is extremely hard. If your not flexibile, it puts an extreme strain on the back. The older you get, the harder it is and can get a little painful.

Is anyone else is a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and they can't do competition's because they won't do them on Sundays? Also I love watching your video's! there the closest thing I have to ice skating right now other than putting on my skates at home to try and break them in before I get to go skating again, whenever that will be.
