This is a brilliant example of how writing in a minor key can intensify the passion and emotion of a song. Nice job Susan. Great arrangement and backup band too.
I was a wee lad and this played on the radio I wondered about it but liked the song. The movie, still bothers me. Cool to hear a young miss do this number (and a fine rendition). I beller out the last few lines once in a while and people wonder about me. Now i shall replay this and listen again. Cheers.
Shalom. 1: When you're young and so in love as we Cuando eres joven y estás tan enamorado como nosotros And bewildered by the world we see Y desconcertados por el mundo que vemos Why do people hurt us so? Only those in love would know Sólo los enamorados sabrían What a Town Without Pity can do.. Lo que una ciudad sin compasión puede hacer... 2: If we stop to gaze upon a star Si nos detenemos a contemplar una estrella People talk about how bad we are... Ours is not an easy age Lo nuestro no es una época fácil We're like tigers in a cage Somos como tigres en una jaula What a Town Without Pity can do.. Lo que una ciudad sin compasión puede hacer... 3: The young have problems. Many problems Los jóvenes tienen problemas. Muchos problemas. We need an understanding heart.. Necesitamos un corazón comprensivo.. Why don't they help us, try to help us ¿Por qué no nos ayudan?, ¿por qué no intentan ayudarnos? Before this clay and granite planet falls apart... Take these eager lips and hold me fast.. Toma estos labios ansiosos y abrázame fuerte... I'm afraid this kind of joy can't last Me temo que este tipo de alegría no pueda durar How can we keep love alive? ¿Cómo podemos mantener el amor vivo? How can anything survive? ¿Cómo puede algo sobrevivir? When these little minds tear you in two.. What a Town Without Pity can do.. How can we keep love alive? ¿Cómo podemos mantener el amor vivo? How can anything survive? ¿Cómo puede algo sobrevivir? When these little minds tear you in two.. What a Town Without Pity can do.. And Elio Pace on the old joanna wow she sounds awesome and she still sings with Elio Pace band on tour you should not miss his shows Sue is there with great vocal backing.
One of my favorite songs. Love your rendition!👏🏻 Great musicians and back vocals. PS: It doesn't bother me you were reading the lyrics. I'm not the "Singers Police". 💝🎶🎙👏🏻
I love this song, and your version. Just wondering why you changed it from "Tigers in a cage" to "Flowers in a cage"? Flowers in a cage doesn't sound very pent up, like tigers.
I like this song, what she did with it was totally amazing. My only complaint was the last two voice rises, seemed out of place. Otherwise GREAT job everyone !!!
Sorry, but compared to the original, it doesn’t compare. Nice singer, but no depth with this version; no umph…except for the last two words. Wish she could have dug deeper. I just didn’t feel her version. Good chops though.
...another "issue" in my opinion with looking at lyrics, is that at THAT time, she's not looking at us, the audience - and with a wonderful face/voice like hers, she becomes much more entertaining/entrancing all the way around when gazing at us and NOT a sheet of paper...God Bless, 🎵👍🙏
A brilliant example of how not to sing a melody in a minor key. She has no idea of how to tune a chord. The key change was particularly badly done. As for the lyrics, that was hopeless. Even reading them she kept messing up. I will not be listening to her again.
She had been very ill until - literally - the day of the show and unable to rehearse or even learn the lyrics. Under the circumstances she was brilliant and I doubt that that you not listening again will change her life.😄
@@alansmith1071 maybe ... especially if the man in a dress had taken the time to memorize the lyrics and didn't stand around misreading them off a music stand, yeah, maybe I would like that better than this lazy, unprofessional dame. Thanks for sharing your recurring men-in-dresses fantasy with us!

@@Marcel_Audubon She sounds better than Gene Pitney ever did, AND LESS EFFEMINATE, for that matter. I'd rather look at and listen to her than him. He always sounded like he just got something caught in his zipper. You really have a thing about her, don't you? Just treat it as an entirely different song and your anxieties will disappear. I like girls. I like this girl. You take Gene, I'll take Susan, and I'll be ahead in the bargain.
I was probably distracted by the blonde back-up singers behind her, and it sounded right to me. What did I miss? I played it back again, and I didn't catch where it was supposed to be wrong.
@@alansmith1071 you can't sing it "very well" if you're reading the lyrics off a music stand and getting half of them wrong coz you were too lazy to memorize them

All all all I want right now is a martini and a cigarette and a time machine to go back to the 60s great rendition
Well, the first two are a good start!!
A splendid performance from a beautiful girl plus great band and backing singers.
beautiful
Great performance by a talented, young woman!
Beautiful..
She's just gorgeous and highly talented !!
Excellent version !
No one can touch the original, but this is a great cover.
WOW!
This is a great band with great singers.
Beautiful voice and beautiful person!
This is a gem!
Brilliant vocal
So wonderful to hear such an outstanding performance of such a difficult song. Wish you had more solo performances to hear.
It IS a difficult song.

Stupendo brano BRAVISSIMA Susan
3:28 great voice, was looking for the Eddi Reader version of this song but didn’t find it, but this interpretation is great!!!
I'm old enough to appreciate the Gene Pitney version, but this gal has it down.
She is great better and better 🎁
Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song (as a deep rock-ballad) asks an intense rendition and this singer is a singer to a soft music...
There is nothing to say. Fantastic 🥃

Muy buena versión de una bella intérprete.
Fann #1 💓
She is great 🥃
I was never that wild about the song, but this presentation of it is the very best I've ever witnessed. *And I didn't mind the pretty girls, either.

Wow! Dynamite performance! I love this song and covered it myself a couple years ago. Are you still performing live? I’m sure it’s a great show.

Thanks to the backup singers , this the breast version I have ever heard .
Thank you for putting it more properly than I would have. I would probably have allowed my hormones to get in the way.

She thinks performing just means putting on the black dress.
Fail.
But she has better legs than either you or I.
