    Pros of playing TNO: fuels my undying interest in Cold War Politics, WW2 figure heads in the Nazis and Soviet army, the ideologies of all side, the people behind these ideologies and learning about history by making me interested by the people featured in the mod (Yockey, Rockwell, Werbell, Sablin, Yazov and so much more. Add KR with Huey Long)
    Cons of playing TNO: Every fucking time I search anything about Nazis, the Waffen-SS or Himmler and I see that fucking Black Sun insigna, guess what I'm thinking. Can't enjoys WW2 games anymore because "OOOOOOH THAT THE THING IN THE GAME". The mod is basically nightmare fuel and has a bad tendency of exaggerating the personalities of a lot of the major character in the mod (see the funni clock guy or Yazov. Not Werbell tho. He's perfect. All hail Ingram Mac-10 Suppressors). And the community is... eeeeh... listen when I go there with a super neutral and objective view of politics, its hard to find people who see the mod as what it is: a game about a fictional Cold War. Not a way to promote any political views or argue them.

    Great video on the guy, but the analysis on what lead the USSR to be criticised by sablin seems to be a bit off. After Nikota Krushchev's coup, the USSR took a hard turn right. They made efforts to rehabilitate figures that had been deported or purged, and the only real thing that remained from Stalin by the time brezhnev rolled around was one of his last statements to the party: that class strugle had come to an end in Russia. The revisionists ran with this and used it to justify economic and political reforms, turn the Eastern Block into a colony and become extremely agressive against other socialist states, namely China, Romania and Albania.
    It's a very clear contrast, really. While, under stalin, the transformation of comune leaders into owners was often met with death, deportation or expulsion from the party, that came to be praised and incentivised under krushchev. While, under stalin, the centralised economy focused on heavy industry, which was the bare minimum to bring an end to the history of famines in russia, later leaders aimed at creating a consumption based economy. It becomes even clearer when you compare Stalin-era policies about the revolution in china with revisionist policies about the revolution in Cuba. One sought to genuinely help a people reach it's liberty, and showed no intent of being paid back. The other tried financing the creation of a nation-sized missile base.

      I am no marxist (anarcho communist) but I have read Marx and if you want context: Marx doesn't use "Dictatorship of the proletariat" in the way Lenin and the his followers interpret it. In fact soviet style authoritarian Leftism wasn't even a thing before Lenin. The closest thing was a closed Vanguard party that would incite the revolution but would then surrender to the people. Though even that was not a very common idea with early socialists.

      @@randomuser5609 One of the key ideas of socialism is political democracy will always be a sham without workplace democracy. Economic power can always translate itself into political power. In capitalism, the mechanism by which this is achieved is already well known to you. Ayn Rand of all people actually gave the clearest account of it.
      As for how to put the government in the hands of the people, just like with all major transitions, the precise details will have to be worked out by the people actually performing the task, and it will no doubt have some variance based on a multitude of conditions unique to a given place and time, but I strongly believe it will always involve a lot of deliberative, participatory democracy and, more importantly, a lot of sortitions. Yes, sortitions, the antithesis of "meritocracy," technocracy, and Stalinism.

    • @randomuser5609
      @randomuser5609 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Synerco well then make up something new because in western europe and north america, people have great workplace control. I do not see what you're talking about. Do you want even more control over your workplace? You know, in the end, it is *a* workplace given to you by a stranger who actually owns this workplace and is literally investing into you. By the way, all the social progressive points, ideas and criteria concening stuff like "workplace democracy".. think a bit for a second; I hope you are a friend of big business and monopol economy, because the things you mentioned combined with the costs of a system like a social democracy, there will be less and less individual small and diverse businesses. Small industry will perish. I mean, the best example right now is germany. Take a deep look at their economic development. Small business goes broke and will be bought up by big business due to state regulation and monopol banks And at that point.. after a couple decades when you have your 10 big corporations left..why is it even private? Make it a state owned business instead. You literllay have to replace the CEO with the public. In other words, with the state. Which means a party official as the CEO.
      Oh and also, that's how you get capitalism (except for the "make it state owned" part) Because it is 2023 and I hope that by now, you should know that capitalism (an anti semitic slur) is not the same as a free market which is what people should be thriving towards. I mean, they naturally do but if your kids go to school learn how to interpret idiots like Hegel and Kant instead of learning economics.. well it's obvious that people don't even know the difference between money and currency.
      One last thing. If you are reading for example socialist, fascist or marxist stuff, don't fall for the anti-materialist content and don't get caught up in their dialectical bullsh!t. There is a reason why they hide themselves and their words behind other words. If you would know what the intellectual socialists back then defined as democracy and why ulgy footprints like north korea are claiming to be "democratic". You will hate what you will learn.
      But before all that, learn economics. Please.
      (I hate math (economics) but I can't escape reality like I did in 7th-9th grade when I was a socialist)

      The soviets were reduced to figureheads just after the Bolshevik coup. In fact, the Kronstadt rebellion was actually a communist uprising that attempted to restore the soviets! King Charles literally (literally literally) exercises far, far, FAR more political power than the soviets ever did in the Soviet Union. The claim that the USSR practiced soviet communism is about as true as the Independent State of Croatia being independent.
