Another helpful tip is to put a plastic tree/shrub container with the bottom cut out, into the over the shoulder spreader to help give it sides so it does not fall down when loading seed.
the bag broadcaster in the tub is the most genius yet simple tip I have heard. I have spilled so many seeds over the years it seems small or big bags always turn that bag seeder over when pouring seeds into it
Good content as usual. Thanks. I just broadcast an acre of soybeans and Milo into the same plot last week and caught a good rain and have some really good germination. My soybeans are about an inch tall so I went out today and hot fenced half of them to try to have some grain that I can broadcast brassica into this fall.
Maybe I'm overly cautious but I like to build a small fire before I spray my food plots. The smoke more clearly indicates the direction of the wind and allows me to spray in a direction that helps me avoid drift. Chemical rated respirators are reasonably priced and readily available.
“give a man a seed and you feed a rodent for a day; teach a man to plant seed like Dr. Grant and Green Cover and you feed your family for a lifetime”… Another lesson in the books, this is my second year on 40 acres in Bama and the lessons I’ve learned and implemented have already turned my land plentiful and the Lord continues to bless me and my family. Kids, listen to the wisdom of the wise and the ways of the Lord it will never leave you astray. -JB
Great Video!!! Growing deer is my new favorite whitetail habitat channel to watch. What would you recommend for planting in soil that’s wet up until July? Or don’t even bother for a fall food plot?
Don't waste time on summer plots, you still have plenty of time to treat invasives and manage your forested acres. There is rarely a shortage of food in the summer, better projects to work on this time of year.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom, especially your deep appreciation for our Creators Word!!
Thanks for the encouraging words!

I did that last year. Game changer!
Or get a Solo brand spreader and throw that bag one from earthway in the trash

bringing out an extra tote with you is such a no brainer.... guess i'm brain dead. lol
Cheers guys, always learn a ton from you!!

Broadcasting the “Summer Rel” into my standing Rye soon either this weekend or Next . Watching for rain .

Use milkweed.

Great video. What is the best broadcast seeder to purchase for this type of application? Thanks
I don't know - I've used the Earthway brand for years and they seem to work fine.
Great information thanks grant

Thanks! I"m not aware of any quality forage crop that's grows well with wet feet. The the soil is squishy wet, I'd wait for it to dry a bit.
How late is too late to do the summer blend? I have a hidey hole. I live in Alabama
I live in AL too, just moved here two weeks ago. Gonna try and plant some this week even though it’s late to see what happens 🤷♂️

As long as there's ample soil moisture, I've planted summer crops till July 4th.
A tip for the intern walking into the freshly sprayed termination chemicals... walk backwards and away as you spray.
