My family lived in New Orleans,I took my children and my niece , to see the Mr Bingle show on Canal St at the big Maison Blanc Dept Store.The Big Store Windows were all decorated for Christmas and many presented little Xmas skits or short plays, beautiful costumes.It was a happy,joyous time,we all still remember.those days.They loved it and so did I,we would sing the Mr Bingle song, I loved to see their pretty, happy faces of sweet innocents.

My Popsie (grandfather) would take us to Maison Blanche in the 1960's to see the Mr. Bingle show & get our photo taken with Santa every year and then take us shopping for clothes & shoes. Looked forward to watching the show on TV too. What wonderful memories!
I remember seeing Mr.Bingle seasonal show during Christmas run up during early-mid ’6os and then year round during late ’6os & early ’7os as the Maison Blanche mascot - in the way that Snoopy is/was Macy’s mascot.

Simply excellent. Many memories flood back watching the entire 60 minute documentary every year.
I live in the NOLA market and WYES still airs this special. Love it!

I just learned about Mr. Bingle from my mom and grandfather a few years back. I was totally unaware that New Orleans had its own Christmas icon.
I own this DVD from WYES. It doesn't have to be Christmas for me to watch it!
I'm from New Orleans, it's not officially the holidays until I watch this. I watch it every year ( at least 15-16 years ).
