Milord and Milady is how Fergus has always addressed Jamie and Claire, it’s his equivalent of Mom and Dad and says it in the same way. He introduces himself rightfully as their son and they are Grandma and Grandpa to his children. Fergus using these names for his parents doesn’t mean he doesn’t think of them as his parents.

Love to see Jamie showing his care for Fergus and Ian this episode. His relationship with both men are so important to this story. The actors Cesar and John have grown and it’s so good to see that highlighted.
Major characters deserve major opps to shine.

I like how this new season gave young actors opportunities to shine. Fergus was a bit put aside after S3, but in S6, César Domboy managed to convey everything that makes this character's backstory troublesome, complex and compelling - all his traumas, his feeling of helplessness, his self-loathing that probably lasted for years, exploded in two episodes and it made me bawl my eyes out. I absolutely love how they adapted it from the books since Fergus' background and depression are so well depicted. Possibly one of my favourite characters. Thankfully, he'll fight his demons.

I’m glad this trip leads Fergus to being able to be a printer again, something he is passionate about himself outside of the family. I know everyone will miss them dearly but all a parent wants for their child is to be happy, even if it means they are far away.

I still think it’s weird that he calls his dad milord and his mum milady lol 😂 he knows if he can’t call them mum and dad then he can call them Jamie and Claire. He is their first child, then they had and lost faith before having Bree but he is still their only son

Before they were his Ma and Da, they were Mi Lord and Mi Lady. Those were the terms he used while growing to love them, those are the terms he kept

Yeah...I see the terms as strong combination of affection and respect
I am very interested in Arthurian Legends.
I have an English-translation of the French 13th Century-written Lancelot-Grail which includes Lancelot's birth and upbringing by the Lady of the Lake and his blossoming tragic courtly love affair with Queen Guinevere who was old enough to be his mother and his early adventures as a knight.
The Lady of the Lake Niniane raised Lancelot and treated him like he was her son after she stole him from Lancelot's mother Queen Helene after King Ban of Benoic (Benwick in English) had died just after losing his kingdom to King Claudas. Even though Lancelot grew up believing that she was his mother, he called Niniane "My Lady" and not "mother". Ninane called Lancelot "King's Son." alluding to his being an actual king's son. Some years after taking Lancelot, she arranged the magical rescue of Lancelot's double first cousins Lionel and Bors (sons of King Ban's brother King Bors of Gaunes and his wife Queen Evaine who was Queen Helene's sister) and she raised them along with Lancelot.
After Niniane presented 18 year old Lancelot to King Arthur and requested knighthood for her adoptive son, she told him the truth that she's not his mother and pretty much told Lancelot that his parents were very noble without telling their names. Lancelot grew up not knowing his name nor his parentage until his liberation of the Dolorous Guard which became Joyous Guard. After that, he was known as Lancelot of the Lake.

I think the French were very formal back then even within the family. It's not so long ago that kids would address their own parents with "vous" instead of "tu" (both meaning "You", but the latter only used for friends and nowadays family).

@Susan Park, he wasn’t their first born also, he never was! Faith was their first child born in France, Brianna their second natural child. And Fergus was a boy from the street. He wasn’t their natural son! He is their adoptive son.
