Much better Dusty B! I could clearly see the effect this time. You know, I feel like background has less of a bokeh effect with the diopters as just a change on the DOF (Depth of Field). True boreh would be soft rings or diamonds or some other shape to the lights and highlights in the background. I don't see that in your test, just a softer background.
This test turned out so much better than the last one. I see what you’re saying. But this camera+diopter set makes for an awesome on-the-go vlogging setup and not so much for ‘in the studio.’ Thank you so much for watching! 🫶
@2:24 Dude you were 12" away with the 2x Diopter.... then @2:33 moved in by at least 6 inches and said you were about 11" away from the camera..? hahaha Just a FYI... your first measurement at 12" with the 2x diopter gave the best results and a mild 'boquet' effect 😝 As you correctly highlighted... The thing is with these diopter's is they produce a mild boke effect behind you, but the greater the diopter the more severe the roll off and distortion is away from the center of the frame around to the edges. I'd say for vlogging... 2 x diopter is perfect for that 12-14" full face and shoulder framing. Good video mate! Thanks for sharing! 🤘
Thanks for the update Dusty, appreciate the insight!

Good video! If you use the two times zoom it gets rid of a lot of that warping effect.
