Very interesting medical stuff here. The role of Helicobacter pylori in gastric ulcers was just begining to be accepted by the medical community. For years after this discovery the treatment was antibiotics which was a huge improvment from the previous treatments. Then it was found that the bacteria could also have beneficial properties and now new research suggests to limit the amount of bacteria rather than eradicate them. One of the ways to do that is thought to be honey. So Dr Dodds really was a visionary.
