This hymn brings my childhood memories in Uganda my father had this hymn on his grammaphone/His master’s voice in 1950s. We would sit and listen so intensively though us child our English wasn’t developed well enough to understand what it meant! God’s word will never grow old it renews every morning! Sweet memories

I came across it when a friend, an evangelist and a man of god who invested alot in my life in word and music ,he was very sick. 2days I played this song with tears til 3.00 a m in the night. I didnt know that the lord was revealing to me about his departure!!! ,he went to glory the second night . What a beautiful tune and hardly ever sung nowadays! Along with 'Lydia' it was one of my grandmother's favourite tunes and I am listening to it on the day of her birthday. She would have been 131 years old. Francis Duckworth wrote the tune in 1904 and named it after the village in Lancashire where he was born and where he played the organ in the local Methodist Chapel for 50 years.

Beautiful song! Very scriptural. But how many of us look forward to the time that Jesus shall reign over this earth? How many of us want to live on the paradise earth as subjects of God’s Kingdom under the reign of Jesus Christ? Are we not all expecting to be raptured to heaven? And if all true followers of Jesus go to heaven and unbelievers go to “ hellfire “, who will live on earth to enjoy the benefits of Jesus’ reign??
Hm...Pertinent Question which has its answer in the scriptures too. After all said and done, Rev. 21:1 tells us that there is going to be a new Heaven and a new Earth (that's like, in my own words, the composite Kingdom of God). God determines who will be where but we will all be under the rulership of Christ. The scripture didn't connect being raptured to heaven, it is connected to being with the Lord "in the air". I Tess. 4:17. This is a broad topic that we all should ask the Holy Spirit to give us an understanding of. Having said these, lets continue to live our lives pleasing to God until that day.

Today (June 2, Pentecost 2), I played this at two services: a local Presbyterian Church (Hymn of Faith) and a local Lutheran Church (Hymn of the Day). It is #434 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. However, the tune is DUKE STREET, attributed to John Hatton (1793).
Completely Omitted the Best Verse of the Hymn! • "From north to south the princes meet To pay their homage at His feet; While western empires own their Lord, And savage tribes attend His Word."
The "best" verse is subjective....... ." Where He displays His healing power, Death and the curse are known no more, In Him the tribes of Adam boast, More blessings than their father lost" . ( Profound ! )

5. יִֽירָא֥וּךָ עִם־ שָׁ֑מֶשׁ וְלִפְנֵ֥י יָ֝רֵ֗חַ דּ֣וֹר דּוֹרִֽים׃
5. 저희가 해가 있을 동안에 주를 두려워하며 달이 있을 동안에 대대로 그리하리로다
8. He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
8. וְ֭יֵרְדְּ מִיָּ֣ם עַד־ יָ֑ם וּ֝מִנָּהָ֗ר עַד־ אַפְסֵי־ אָֽרֶץ׃
8. 저가 바다에서부터 바다까지와 강에서부터 땅 끝까지 다스리리니
10. The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
10. מַלְכֵ֬י תַרְשִׁ֣ישׁ וְ֭אִיִּים מִנְחָ֣ה יָשִׁ֑יבוּ מַלְכֵ֥י שְׁבָ֥א וּ֝סְבָ֗א אֶשְׁכָּ֥ר יַקְרִֽיבוּ׃
10. 다시스와 섬의 왕들이 공세를 바치며 스바와 시바왕들이 예물을 드리리로다
11. Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
11. וְיִשְׁתַּחֲווּ־ ל֥וֹ כָל־ מְלָכִ֑ים כָּל־ גּוֹיִ֥ם יַֽעַבְדֽוּהוּ׃
11. 만왕이 그 앞에 부복하며 열방이 다 그를 섬기리로다
12. For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
12. כִּֽי־ יַ֭צִּיל אֶבְי֣וֹן מְשַׁוֵּ֑עַ וְ֝עָנִ֗י וְֽאֵין־ עֹזֵ֥ר לֽוֹ׃
12. 저는 궁핍한 자의 부르짖을 때에 건지며 도움이 없는 가난한 자도 건지며
13. He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
13. יָ֭חֹס עַל־ דַּ֣ל וְאֶבְי֑וֹן וְנַפְשׁ֖וֹת אֶבְיוֹנִ֣ים יוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃
13. 저는 가난한 자와 궁핍한 자를 긍휼히 여기며 궁핍한 자의 생명을 구원하며
14. He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
14. מִתּ֣וֹךְ וּ֭מֵחָמָס יִגְאַ֣ל נַפְשָׁ֑ם וְיֵיקַ֖ר דָּמָ֣ם בְּעֵינָֽיו׃
14. 저희 생명을 압박과 강포에서 구속하리니 저희 피가 그 목전에 귀하리로다
15. And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
15. וִיחִ֗י וְיִתֶּן־ לוֹ֮ מִזְּהַ֪ב שְׁ֫בָ֥א וְיִתְפַּלֵּ֣ל בַּעֲד֣וֹ תָמִ֑יד כָּל־ הַ֝יּ֗וֹם יְבָרֲכֶֽנְהֽוּ׃
15. 저희가 생존하여 스바의 금을 저에게 드리며 사람들이 저를 위하여 항상 기도하고 종일 찬송하리로다
17. His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
17. יְהִ֤י שְׁמ֨וֹ לְֽעוֹלָ֗ם לִפְנֵי־ שֶׁמֶשׁ֮ [יָנִין כ] (יִנֹּ֪ון ק) שְׁ֫מ֥וֹ וְיִתְבָּ֥רְכוּ ב֑וֹ כָּל־ גּוֹיִ֥ם יְאַשְּׁרֽוּהוּ׃
17. 그 이름이 영구함이여 그 이름이 해와 같이 장구하리로다 사람들이 그로 인하여 복을 받으리니 열방이 다 그를 복되다 하리로다
19. And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
19. וּבָר֤וּךְ ׀ שֵׁ֥ם כְּבוֹד֗וֹ לְע֫וֹלָ֥ם וְיִמָּלֵ֣א כְ֭בוֹדוֹ אֶת־ כֹּ֥ל הָאָ֗רֶץ אָ֘מֵ֥ן ׀ וְאָמֵֽן׃
19. 그 영화로운 이름을 영원히 찬송할찌어다 온 땅에 그 영광이 충만할찌어다 아멘 아멘
Psalm 8
2. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
2. מִפִּ֤י עֽוֹלְלִ֨ים ׀ וְֽיֹנְקִים֮ יִסַּ֪דְתָּ֫ עֹ֥ז לְמַ֥עַן צוֹרְרֶ֑יךָ לְהַשְׁבִּ֥ית א֝וֹיֵ֗ב וּמִתְנַקֵּֽם׃
2. 주의 대적을 인하여 어린 아이와 젖먹이의 입으로 말미암아 권능을 세우심이여 이는 원수와 보수자로 잠잠케 하려 하심이니이다
Revelation 5
11. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
11. Καὶ εἶδον, καὶ ⸀ἤκουσα φωνὴν ἀγγέλων πολλῶν κύκλῳ τοῦ θρόνου καὶ τῶν ζῴων καὶ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων, καὶ ἦν ὁ ἀριθμὸς αὐτῶν μυριάδες μυριάδων καὶ χιλιάδες χιλιάδων,
11. 내가 또 보고 들으매 보좌와 생물들과 장로들을 둘러 선 많은 천사의 음성이 있으니 그 수가 만만이요 천천이라
12. Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
12. λέγοντες φωνῇ μεγάλῃ· Ἄξιόν ἐστιν τὸ ἀρνίον τὸ ἐσφαγμένον λαβεῖν τὴν δύναμιν ⸀καὶ πλοῦτον καὶ σοφίαν καὶ ἰσχὺν καὶ τιμὴν καὶ δόξαν καὶ εὐλογίαν.
12. 큰 음성으로 가로되 죽임을 당하신 어린 양이 능력과 부와 지혜와 힘과 존귀와 영광과 찬송을 받으시기에 합당하도다 하더라
13. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
13. καὶ πᾶν κτίσμα ὃ ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ὑποκάτω τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς ⸀θαλάσσης, καὶ τὰ ἐν αὐτοῖς ⸀πάντα, ἤκουσα λέγοντας· Τῷ καθημένῳ ἐπὶ ⸂τῷ θρόνῳ⸃ καὶ τῷ ἀρνίῳ ἡ εὐλογία καὶ ἡ τιμὴ καὶ ἡ δόξα καὶ τὸ κράτος εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν ⸀αἰώνων.
13. 내가 또 들으니 하늘 위에와 땅 위에와 땅 아래와 바다 위에와 또 그 가운데 모든 만물이 가로되 보좌에 앉으신 이와 어린 양에게 찬송과 존귀와 영광과 능력을 세세토록 돌릴찌어다 하니
14. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
14. καὶ τὰ τέσσαρα ζῷα ⸀ἔλεγον· Ἀμήν. καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι ἔπεσαν καὶ προσεκύνησαν.
14. 네 생물이 가로되 아멘 하고 장로들은 엎드려 경배하더라 Hebrews 1
6. And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
6. ὅταν δὲ πάλιν εἰσαγάγῃ τὸν πρωτότοκον εἰς τὴν οἰκουμένην, λέγει· Καὶ προσκυνησάτωσαν αὐτῷ πάντες ἄγγελοι θεοῦ.
6. 또 맏아들을 이끌어 세상에 다시 들어 오게 하실 때에 하나님의 모든 천사가 저에게 경배할찌어다 말씀하시며
