I wish I had seen this video before I painted my wheels. I masked them off using the first method you showed and it was a pain in the butt! Oh well, I'll use your method with the plastic next time. Thanks for the video!
5:08 That´s a great tip. I would never have thought of that. I always tried to get the tape as close as possible and I would finallly rune around the very edge of the tyre with a flat blade screwdriver. Love the oldschool luxembourgish fire engine writing on the door.
Im about to do this! Using heat shrink tubing that fits just over the stem works too. Maybe just shrink the top by the firm threaded area and not the rubber part because if you have to cut it off you risk damaging it. Or no heat at all works.
I have steel wheels new, want to change color from silver to black! Will it hold up if I take the shine off primer it and paint it with rust oleum black and then put a clearcoat on it will it hold up
I have Steely’s window paint with a can of brand new steel is a hate to do it but I want to change the color of the black instead of silver will it hold up I would like a rest oleum black if I primer it first and put a clearcoat on it?
I’ve watched a lot of videos painting wheels. And have painted many myself. This is genius. Love the plastic trick. Thanks for the video
