Theres nothing quite like King Krule and his boys. To find jazzy, though provoking, head bopping music like this is so so so refreshing. Just the tonal & key changes are so much fun to follow like in traditional jazz but with a new soul poured into it, especially hearing it live. UGH SO GOOD. If any one could recommend other artist like him i'd appreciate it!
Saw this guy on acid and it was amazing. Allowed me to appreciate him much much more than i ever would have. His whole performance was essentially a curation of punk, jazz, rnb, and rock influences stirred into one beautiful reverb-laden emotive soup. The visuals were just as haunting and moody. I will never ever forget that show.
You know what’s so funny ? I feel like this jazzy-souls drenched R&B infused alternate stuff is the new wave sorta like how Grunge was in the 90s. Another thing I notice was that a lot of these young cats are trained in jazz
