@@usmc72409 no not at all. I've had standards and angoras and they are the same. Obviously all ferrets are different if handled or unhandled but the angora part doesn't matter. My boys are the sweetest

TH-cam just recommended this & it's kind of late... but I hope you've started putting covers on the cage ramps. They can get hurt if they try & slide down & there's no cover on the ramp. (Feet &... other things, getting caught while the ferret continues on down.)

I'm in the UK and we don't have any heavily bred ferret companies like that. Only private breeders. I would say in general in the UK. Whites and lights seem more prone to cancers and the sables and darks seem healthiest as a general rule but there are exceptions both ways.

Most the ferrets in the US are bred by certified breeders there are very few private breeders because the ferrets are considered an exotic pet are neutered very early their lives. Breeders are not permitted to sell unneutered babies. Since the ferrets are neutered so young it causes all kinds of problems including cancers especially adrenal cancer. Most of the USA ferrets only live 6-7 years because of this.
Adorable. I hope you got rid of that octopus toy… those are known killers. Ferrets have been known to get trapped in them and suffocate. Seriously sweet video, though.

Breeders can be hard to find, as a lot of them stopped breeding angoras. Unfortunately, angoras have a lot of health problems, even more than typical ferrets. Sometimes their fur starts growing where it's not supposed to, like their insides; it can start growing in their nose and they'd eventually suffocate. If you're still interested in getting an angora, please be aware that they require a lot of care!
I've not come across any of the advice mentioned issues and I've had standard and angora and have found that in both, the darker ones have less health issues. Just look up angora ferretry on Facebook and it should bring up breeders 😊

Biggest concern is that the disorder impairs their hearing and/or vision, though they're also said to live shorter lives. But please take all this with a side of skepticism as there's the possibility Waardenburg Syndrome isn't the primary factor at play here. Now, my input isn't an attempt to deter anyone from getting an angora-but I definitely could've presented my information better and less passive-aggressive with my initial reply. This input was based off of research I have done, and it's always good for everyone to do their own and absorb what they will. There's absolutely no forcing any one perspective, especially as my input holds less value than someone who has direct experience owning angoras. All that being said, I'm glad your angoras haven't had any noteworthy health concerns!

I'm in the UK. There are a couple of us breeders though and UK breeders will allow you to import kits.
