Oscillofun: Analog vs. Digital Oscilloscopes

  • Another oscilloscope video showing Atom Delta's Oscillofun. but this time comparing the output of an analog and a digital oscilloscope in X-Y mode.
    The digital oscilloscope is an Agilent (Keysight) 54622D and the analog oscilloscope is a Tektronix 2445.
    Notice how the analog scope's waveform is sharper, the reason is that the signal is not digitised losing signal integrity during the analog to digital conversion process like the digital one.
    On a side note: The waveform on the analog scope is mirrored on the X axis because the scope does not have an invert button for the X axis, only for the Y axis.

    Nice video. An analog scope is superior for XY mode, but I'm honestly surprised by how well the agilent one handled it, nice scope

    Channel 2 on the bottom scope need to be inverted.
