@Benjamin Solliday She lost .1 for leg seperation and .1 for bent knees. She would've incurred a .1-.3 squat deduction if she hadn't done a stag jump out of it. She also could've/should've gotten deductions for height and body shape on the stag jump.
So nice to see her smile at the end! If she could work on bars/beam consistency and replicate this, she would be perfect on a Simone, Sunisa, and Jordan team.
She would be such a nice addition and contrast to Biles‘ & Chiles’ gymnastics who are basically locks at this point. I would love to have Suni and her take the other two spots!

Sometimes I really like to see a floor routine that isn’t so insanely fast-paced, and that has some dance/“ballet-like” elements incorporated into it...thought Leanne did a great job here with that and also her tumbling skills (although maybe not as difficult as some of the other gymnasts’) were for the most part clean and looked great too! 😍
What I appreciate the most about Leanne and honestly the rest of her gym is they have maintained the “artistry” of artistic gymnastics it’s not just ab doing the biggest skill possible and not caring about e-score

I think she has a strong case as an all-arounder who can contribute to Vault and Floor during the team final! (to potentially preserve Suni's ankles for an AA final if she makes it)
Everything from the music, choice of elements and construction in this exercise is superior and fits her style compared to the previous. The double piked arabian and 3½ twist were daring and unique to see, but had nowhere else to easily develop upwards in difficulty in the current CoP, or risked having an incomplete 3½ cancel out the triple as a potential construction issue. I do also like how no diagonals along the floor area for the acro lines are ever repeated in the same direction, and each one is unique, if that makes sense. Otherwise the preparation and motions before the second and third acro lines look too similar to what they were before, but even still I'd say this is probably my favorite floor routine from Nationals.
Love love Simone, but honestly prefer this style of floor work a bit more. Perfect combination of power and elegance...and great musicality. She will score very well internationally.

I also really wonder if she could end the routine with a Piked Double Arabian, that was a good move for her in the past and would be perfect here, she had really patient timing with it, which fits this music.

I also think the dos santos I as a dismount would be awesome if she can hit it, but as far as endurance goes, the double pike is probably a safer bet. She originally did a Memmel spin there but it got taken out so Al just had her do filler and keep whatever felt fine. Also no way anyone could ever pull off an Arabian double pike at the end of a routine. Leanne could barely do it without a squat at the beginning.

When I first start watch the 1st day of competition, all you see was commentators talking about other stuff. And Leanne was performing her floor exerciese. Not even mentioning that she was on the floor was just beyond me. She was already a known top contender after her US GK Classic finisihing top 6.
Is this why the NBC commentators were not speaking during Leanne's routine? Maybe a blessing in disguise lol. When I was watching her routine I thought, "How wonderful to watch Leanne without all the gibberish from Nastia, etc. Why doesn't NBC realize how annoying they are?
I love Leanne, she's so elegant and graceful, but aparently, she has a mental block in important moments, i wold to see her do a great competition without mistakes.
If she relaxed a bit more into the music and waltzed a bit more, this would be even better than it is. The Austrians are known for the waltz and their a very laid-back culture. Obviously super hard to accomplish while doing incredibly hard tumbling with choreography and leaps/turns all over the place, but she's heading in the right direction going into trials!
They downgraded the double turn with leg at horizontal because it went below horizontal during the second rotation. I think that’s where it got .1 less. But that’s an easy fix for her!
