  • I made this video shortly after purchasing this scooter from Roadrunner Scooters. I researched scooters for about 2 yrs before settling on this brand and model. To be honest at first I was not happy at first due to brakes not working and the back up safety pin no longer working properly. After figuring out the initial issues and working through them with Roadrunner, I have had zero issues since this video. I have used it a ton. I just now check often to make sure the mast is tightened securely. Even recommended a friend to buy one and he did. But the did not have the plus battery in stock. so he bought the RS5, not the RS5+. It does make a difference in power and distance. I now use this scooter to go to work at Boeing when its warm and dry outside. I have been caught in the rain without an issue as well. I did have some issues at first with the scooter and customer service. But after dealing with Gotrax scooters now, I would say Roadrunner has awesome customer service in comparison. I would recommend it to anyone. But be prepared to bleed the brakes and check them and the tire pressure often to avoid flats, as my friend found out. check them out at roadrunnerscooters.com/ They have a $500 off deal going right now for their upgraded RS5+ 2.0.

So sad to see all that beautiful forest destroyed. That is why I use a Rocketbook. Beautiful scenery. Almost bought this scoot…on Black Friday. But something said, get Vsett 10plus. VS10+ was only 1400 and went with that. Glad I did. Rev Rides sent some goodies with scooter and had chatted with me for more months and been excellent. No problems whatsoever. Set tires up with sealant and correct pressure. Been a beast. 2800 watts. Enjoy your riding. Hope it all evens out.

Yeah the guys over it roadrunner have made it up too me since I filmed this. No more bikes having issues and they sent me some free stuff to make up for it. So while not 100% happy, im satisfied that they did go out of their way to make it up to me. Have over 1000 miles on it now. I do like Roadrunners newer faster more powerful scooter they just cane out with, would trade this one on it , but they do not accept trade ins. Their new one does 70mph and will get you up to 70 miles of range.

Wow you came on my ch and just vented nothing but negative things about rs5 and customer service. Like I worked there..my experience was completely different from yours. I sent mine in free of charge and was sent back within 9 days for a brake bleed and steering damper installation. Never had an issue with bleeding brakes since and have about 1100 miles in...I recommend this scooter over anything 2k price range

After speaking to several guys on a facebook page, they all had issues with the brakes straight out of the box. Was told to go pay a bike shop to bleed them. Which I found ridiculous for them to tell me with a brand new scooter. One guy even had brake fluid in the box from it leaking. And was withing the first 100 miles that extra safety pin quit working on me. And at that point they did tell me back it back up. That they would ship it back to them for free and fix any issues. My point is there should not be any issues. And e ererything I have bought from them has take a week to get to me. So figured with that time frame, it would take them a bit too fix the scooter and then send it back, the issues didnt warrant me soedning 3 week to a month without it. So dont get me wrong. Im not saying its a bad scooter....specially now since I also own a Gotrax, that they are a great company. Gotrax doesnt stock all their replacement parts. Took me over a month to get something ordered, and its been over a month and still havent gotten it due to coming from China. Gotrax is horrible. So as i stated in the video, I would still recommend this scooter. As since the last time I did the breaks. Anout 600 miles ago, have had zero issues with the scooter. I ride it regularly to work when weather permits. Weekends I never drive my car anywhere. I have a trailer for this now that I use for groceries. Its been great. Just an initial disagreement between them and myself. Which they have made up for by sending me free tires and a 75% discount on my damper. So pleased that they eventually made up for their initial issues.

I just got the RS5 max a few weeks ago and I have to say the unboxing on mine looked pretty clean and no brake issues. Mine hasn’t had the overheating issue and seems to stay pretty even keel as the battery gets close to E. My only real complaint is that I haven’t been able to get into the battery compartment because they went from the combination lock to a keyed lock and as luck would have it keys weren’t in the box. Roadrunner says they have to get keys from the factory then send them to me. If I was wanting to quick swap batteries I’d be out of luck. Otherwise I really do feel like I got good bang for the buck.

Just check it over when you get it. Dont be shocked if brakes need bleeding. Other than that, im over all happy. I have over 1000 miles on mine. Had some small issue at first, but roadrunner more than made up for it. Id love their new RX7. I have gotten 42 miles in one charge so far. Still made it home. Did not go dead. This review video is a good test. As I am going up hill about 3000 feet in elevation gain. I was suprised how good it did. Just need to soften up the shocks a bit for off road use.

@drzrider3440 that's a fantastic spot to ride . Do I need to charge the battery out of the box before I use it? I can't wait to go exploring on it

I own the O.G rs5. Like the original. No problems ever. Seems thats the flawless model. Sucks shit happens but roadrunner is seriously the BEST in customer service. Like yeah things dont go as planned sometimes and things come damaged or not working. They amswer within 24hrs and do over the phone as well. Thats just my experience with them and from the reviews other Roadrunner customers have stated. The issues have also been stated by customers too.

My budy bought one within a week of me getting mine. Had the two little lights on the front of the deck not working. Took 2 months for them to figure out what we told them from the start, to just replace both lights. They sent everything but the lights for 2 months. Finally gave up and just sent him two complete assemblies like we said in the start. Then and only then they worked. Yes they arent bad. Specially after dealing with Gotrax. Absolutley horrible customer service. So learning more and more that Roadrunner does go out of their way. Might not be right away with my experience and my buddies experience. But for sure better than others. Took 50 days to get my part from Gotrax and when it came. It was the wrong part. So here I sit waiting another 50 days to get the right part. With roadrunner it was more the attitude I got. Like they didnt believe me it first. Had to send them a video to prove brakes were not working and the safety push/lock pin in the stem went bed in the first month of use. So everyone experience is different. Mine was less than what I expected. In the end, by them sending me free stuff, i do feel they made up for it and by them sending me free things fir the scooter, I'm assuming they agreed they made some mistakes. So $200 worth of free stuff changed my mind. Like on the video, I do still recommend it, just to be aware you may run into somw issues like myself and my friend and others that had issues right from the box. Do it love it, yrs..have anout 1000 miles on it now. And thinking of buying the new 32amp hour battery. If it fits in the same body.
