You should rename this piece to "Kirov vs carrier strike group IF the jets and the attached submarine are missing." In fact the strike group would have detected and sunk the cruiser way before this happened.
Exactly -- also the CIWS guns on the Kirov seem to have unlimited ammunition. None of the ships are using their SAMs to shoot down incoming SSM missiles -- so the Kirov is firing cruise missiles and the Ticonderogas, Burkes and Belknaps are not using their missiles to protect the fleet, which is their main mission. The Americans aren't all shooting the Kirov with SSMs at the same time, overwhelming the Kirov's defenses (and the Kirov would be defending itself with SAMs). Finally, the Nimitz's 90+ planes would be blowing the Kirov out of the water with bombs and missiles, while the Los Angeles subs would be coordinating their torpedo *and* SAM attacks!
Nope. Because "Legend". This battlecruiser was designed to eliminate carrier strike group in solo and maybe get away from planes that managed to get in air before carrier was sunk. IRL Kirov class battlecruiser capable to attack sea-based targets from distances up to 700 km away with support from "Legend" sattelites.

What is the time of reaction of enemy group to missile attack based on radar and crew capabilities? It is predictive and this discipline was established more than half century ago. This is not about "fan or not". At that time chance of any ship or CSG winning against Kirov class was zero because Kirov's range of attack on sea was more than twice of any US ship. With "Legend" support Kirovs knew location of all enemy ship that was currently on sea while opponents of that time was practically blind in comparison.

The Kirov class of ships is very old now. If the USA wanted, they could easily build a vastly superior ship with updated fire control and weapons, a more advanced nuclear engine, and even additional weapons the Kirovs didn't have. But the USA prefers their carriers due to their versatility and impressive range of operations. Yes the kirovs are now reffited with modernized equipment, but a well polished and maintained sword must eventually rust. The Problem with the Kirovs now is that nowadays lighter ships can possess the same level of firepower as them while also being easier to maintain and deploy. The thing kirovs have over these lighter ships however is their diplomatic projection, and the fact they are just plain cool.
The zumwalt, although it has some weaknesses such as lack of CIWS and torpedoes. While in a duel it would out power the Kirov (if its armed with tsirkons it is likely to be a draw) but an advantage that the Kirov will always retain is that it does not require an escort, while the zumwalt can not protect itself from subs
@@aulderx1437 i see no lies here. But why would the USA only have their carriers and subs nuclear powered unless a nuclear powered warship the size of an Arleigh Burke DDG would be too noisy especially if hunting subs? Any US Navy engineers feel free to correct me here
These computer wargames are all very similar...unrealistic capabilities on the "owner's" vessel and less than capable opponents...fun to watch, but they seem really slanted. I've watched videos where one American Cruiser destroys an entire Russian flotilla and in this one, the reverse....defies common sense.

Not really, the kirov is a powerhouse with its granit missiles, it can fire from extremely far (500km) and has top tier aa for its time
