Was Craig's neighbor.. I was 6 or 7 years old and he let me and friends in our street check out his blue diablo. Trophies lined the walls of his garage man I teared up remembering. Diablo's light beige leather interior had a lemon scent.. showed us the speakers but he said they blew up because they played so loud lol!! (probably just saving our neighbors from a sound test I bet) Was many many years later, many years after even seeing the movies several times, that I realized who that was, and thought about how I've been interested in cars since.. thanks C.L. Really cool. I kinda saw the birth of JDM in the early 90s at college in Tennessee. My roommate was from Osaka, Japan. He had a slammed Honda Prelude. Had big stickers and lights, after market rims etc.. a few other Japanese students had MR2 turbo, 300 ZX twin turbo and Mitsubishi Eclipse. ( back then the Yen 💴 was stong );I was like what’s up with the wide body kits, lights, stickers etc.. said this is our version of a hot rod in Japan. A few years later the movie came out. 👍🏼
Very nice. I had a ride in an R34 GTR with the GTR Chief Engineer through Tokyo when I worked in Japan for Nissan a few years ago. R34 is my favourite model as a result.

I've done a lot of things in the auto industry at one of them was work for APC The company that made most of the parts for those cars and most of the early fast and the furious movies and I still talk to one of the owners of the company is one of my very best friends Mr Brian Torres

Still plenty of R34 GTRs on the road. You can still order replacement parts from Nissan while NISMO and Mine's still have brand new parts in stock including replacement panels, bumpers, wheels and even the engine block.

Well to be fair Tim there's always been interest in the Japanese cars of the 90s but you've got to admit that the Skyline R34 still looks beautiful even by today's standards.

Just to provide some info for people, there is quite a difference between the rb25 neo which is in this car to the rb26.. head is different, larger pistons, different conrods and the r26 has ITB as well as a different bore thickness in block. Also the neo is a 2.5 litre and rb26 is a 2.6litre with solid lifters, strong valves and cams weigh less than neo. There is a lot different could carry out. Between that car and the gtr the difference is night and day. It’s a great car Robbie has, nice bloke and I hope he does the engine work it deserves.
Yoi could try and meet up with Sung Kang on your next USA trip Tim you could get his Moniker for the Skyline. the Skyline is fitted with HICAS, Nissan's rear wheel steering system, many Skyline owners have it removed.
The Japanese voice says カード入れて下さい (ka-do irete kudasai), which is "Please insert a card", referring to the ETC card that you put into the reader underneath the dashboard for the electronic toll collection booths on the Japanese highways.

Let him know he needs to redo his stripes at the front, they are meant to ghost fade to silver at the front of the bonnet onto the bumper 😉 Also all the cars were gtt from what I recall apart from the hero car which was a stock gtr.
ok shmee/Tim, ive got multiple questions for you and would ever do it? 1. in the very ending of this video you showed the R34 reversing out to what was the outside of the very wet version of the Shmuseum, BUT, would you consider showing us fans.... the outside of the Shmuseum or the drive into the Shmuseumin as a separate video so if and when we wanted to come see your unbelievable MAN CAVE!! we'd know what it looks like from the outside coming in?.......... or is this not something you want to do as of yet? 2. would you ever consider owning/purchasing a JDM car or building one to own in the Shmuseum? 3. would you consider moving somewhere else completely to start another Shmuseum in a another country?

Great looking car! To be honest, it's best to do these tributes with GT-Ts, to not "ruin" the last GT-Rs we have left.

That is correct. They are called ETC. There should be a card reader underneath the driving column.
