That looks like a really nice setup. I like your ideas for your anchor rope and paddle holder.

Thanks. I am all about practicality and my simple setup works pretty well; well at least for me.

I bought the same kayak last week. I added a Yak Attack rod holder, Yak Attack anchor trolley, and an offbrand hatch from Amazon on the bow section under the bungees. Took it out for about 6 hours this past Saturday. No complaints at all. Comfortable, stable, and easily stored my fishing rod, a small soft side cooler, and one tackle tray on each side of the seat. Love it so far.

It's a great kayak. For me it took a bit to get used to it but I have had several kayaks and this one is way superior to the ones I tried/had before. Being light and easy to handle is very important for me since it means getting out often.
Good decision to get this kayak. I am sure you'll enjoy it.

Will you be making a review video I hope? Will definitely help us.

What size hatch will fit there , I have the Sentinel 100X Angler and think I may upgrade to this one or the Sentinel 100XR Angler.

@@nashguy2814 I think you can fit a hatch with the outside diameter of 10"-12"
Has very good space for a hatch.

I just picked up the same kayak from REI. It was on sale for 50% off. I noticed there are no scupper plugs. Did you have any problem with water coming up through the drains?

I weigh 165 and never had that problem. Didn't know that scupper plugs are a must for any kayaks really unless you load it very heavy and close to its weight limit!

I weigh 220 and I was seeing water coming through the scuppers. Luckily I had a set of scupper plugs it I would have been swimming in the kayak. To help with buoyancy I stuffed four pool noodles into the interior through a hatch I added in the bow. I'm taking it out again this weekend so I'll see if the quick and easy buoyancy mod helps. If it doesn't I've seen marine grade closed cell foam you can mix and fill the interior with but that is much more expensive than adding the noodles.

@@jbixler1974 On my other review video of the kayak someone commented that they are close to the weight limit of the kayak (300?) and they said they love it. Didn't mention water issue but they said the kayak sits pretty low. Definitely a lighter kayak but it's a really good kayak. Glad you found a solution. I need to add a dry hatch soon.

@@jbixler1974 Interior pool noodles only hep buoyancy if your boat is taking in water inside. I am going to stuff in as many pool noodles as I can inside to make it unsinkable.

Thanks for the demonstration! was very informative! Sold me over a Perception Sound 9.5.. Gonna get me one of these

It's a great kayak for what I need. Very light but that can mean easy to flip with sudden movements but that's the sacrifice you make by getting a kayak that is exceptionally light and easy to handle and at the same time very comfortable.
You will enjoy this kayak for sure. Perception Sound is a sit-in kayak with the no stadium seat. No comparison in any way.

@outbeckoned I know I realized I better go with sit on top easier to rescue.. I might go with pelican catch 100 classic if I can fit it in my car.. more stable I guess, I do like the cargo area in front on the sentinel tho

@@d4gworks Catch Classic is also great. More stable for sure but not as light. In my own way of thinking I wanted two kayaks; one to be the most affordable, lightest fishing kayak on the market for quick trips & throw and go, and another one for stability. I realized it's hard to have both together so if I want anything heavier and more stable I would go full blown Old town or Hobbie or something bigger from Wilderness or Nucanoe. So far this little guy does what I need and my future second kayak will be heavy and stable and likely with a pedal drive.
One thing I didn't like about the Catch was the design and especially the solid handles on the front which makes it impossible to park my paddle on the front. Small detail I know but as they say God is in the details.
Pelican Geteway is also a nice option to consider but has its own flaws.
