Videos like this make me realize just how far behind the curve I am when it comes to using electronics to make music. And I don't mean an electric keyboard. I mean whatever it is he's using to loop the beats and chord patterns. I've programmed keyboards and drum machines before but not "on the fly" like in this video. It's a helluva lotta fun that's for sure!
I ended up here because I was looking for videos pertaining to lyricons. There's a song on Paul McCartney's 1982 album, "Tug of War" that features Stevie Wonder on synths and vocals, and it also features a guy named Andy Mackay on lyricon. It's a little hard to tell where Stevie's synthesizer stuff ends and Mackay's lyricon stuff begins. So I wanted to see one and hear it played live. I found plenty of videos for that and I just kept going and found this one. I've been to NYC once in April, 2001. I can't remember if I ever went through the Tribeca area. I probably did while touring around on one of those double-decker red buses. I'd love to go back someday.
How about a concert with Michael and Ronald Jenkees trading licks on a sick beat! What a collaboration that would be! Michael: You should do a cover of Stay Crunchy... !
Absolutely loving this! I have a funny question though: What neck strap/harness contraption are you using? I've been looking for more comfortable alternatives for the sax/ewi. Cheers and keep up the good work! Hugo
Dear teacher I need your help please. I am a music teacher at a middle school in Santiago, Chile. I worked as a teacher for more than 33 years and took advantage of the fact that I had some money to buy a second-hand Ewi4000s, about four months ago. I tried to change the sounds with the official program of this instrument. But it doesn't work because my computer is a 64 bit Windows 7. Searching the web I found your page and I discovered in it that there is another Linux program to change the sounds, the Ewitool. Those who do not understand that to make this change, the first step of the video you published must have a bookstore. Are there free sounds on the web that I can use? Or if the Kontak program can be used for free or does it have to be paid for? Thank you very much for your collaboration, I will be very grateful. A hug from Chile.
Maschine. Look into it before you try to buy it. I have a Studio that I'm trying to sell now, because it doesn't place as nice as I want it to with Ableton. The Komplete sounds are great, but if you have Ableton, Maschine becomes not much more than a sketchpad.
Great stuff. I love this!
this is sick.
Awesome.............
Nice groove
BRAVOOOOOO!!!
Damn, he just kicks it .......Michael Michael, Michael..........

I was wondering what computer DAW and controller you are using here?
