Good to see you again, Tim! I enjoyed hearing about Twenix although my schedule is presently full. I’m not working for a company but have partnered with a parent co-op in China, and I have enjoyed being with them for a year. Again, good to hear from and stay safe.
I like the idea of having an option between a video and audio chat - seems flexible. The structure of the class seems practical. I like the fact that most of the students are professional and take their studied seriously. I'll be sure to check Twenix out. Thanks for sharing .

Great video, thank you! I've only taught adults, online, and it's how I want to continue. Not interested in having to entertain kids, some of whom don't even want to be there! While freelance is my intention, I was interested in Twenix, as opposed to Preply or Cambly who pay badly and about whom I've heard some bad things (never mind Native Camp!). You said about the multitasking, which is the nature of teaching *to an extent*, but is there a way of doing the error correction at the end of the class rather than during, while you're trying to engage with the student and teach? There's dealing with errors as they arise, and emergent language, which is normal, but the whole selecting the error and putting in the chat - can this be done at the end of the lesson, at all? How is this error correction in the chat sent to the student, do you know (I mean there must be a chat summary they get?)?
Hi there, with Twenix, their system is to note the error in the chat and then review it after that section. That's about all I know to be honest. I taught a few classes but they are fairly rigid on that part of things.
Thank you very much for sharing your experience with the company, and breaking down what to expect realistically in a nutshell! Ok, I don't have prior teaching experience. Sounds like you don't have much experience, or your experience is not worth very much these days! What happened? You were once resourceful and helpful to some people. Now you get paid to promote $7/hr job (illegal in many countries - The current minimum wage in Spain is €1,134.00 per month in 2024 - became valid on January 1, 2024.) that you actually work 26 minutes, not the full hour! Contractor position? Sounds like slave labor employment disguised as a "contractor" to avoid paying any benefits that come with any legal employment postion. Contractors charge what they want, use the apps and tools what they want, hours they want, etc. But you say you are the expert! You know everything! You worked with them, so only the people who worked with them know about this unique opportunity! Not so fast, Tim! We never needed your help, always browsed, as we have been in the industry for 30+ years, and we have done very well! You don't give all the facts for this organization. Others will come on here and share their real experiences, including the side you left out, the bad side, not just the one-minute feedback (which is gold for the paying client). The lowest we ever made was $25/hr, and that was 30 years ago. But of course, you wouldn't know much about that, otherwise you would've provided this kind of real help to teachers instead of getting paid to promote such low wages that disrespects any qualified teacher. You go ahead and keep making such promotions. Eventually people will wake up and realize that the "help" you provide is anything but.
I would like to get back into teaching online but I am married now and don’t want to be giving lessons to females above elementary school. Would I be able to do this with any companies you know or is going on my own the only real solution? Hey, I have no idea. Why wouldn't you be able to teach females ? I don't really understand that. They are just kids... If they are adults, That's like saying you are a doctor but can't treat female patients? I don't get it. It's work..why would your marital status have anything to do with it?
