Its a bit of a lucky dip, there were good and not so good factory instruments from the period. Of time the wood matures and the sounds become richer and more mellow. They don't always project or or have the same brilliance as modern instruments...which is a matter of personal taste and what you want to use it for
This violin is on the bright side (very much in vogue at the moment) with big projection, the harshness my be my recording rig clipping YMMV and thanks for feedback
@@fiddlerdanviolinworkshop I would not like to play any instrument with "Big Projection" if the tone is so poor.I have heard other's recordings of the Piacenza and they all sound similar with one exception which was sweet and mellow.
Do one hundred year old or so European factory instruments in good condition sound better ?

There are small workshop instrument s that might go close , but for something that's widely available this one hits all the checklist items 8 think

@@kendickson7321 out of intrest where did you get/try it, a sound post adjust can tune the sound for the player without too much fuss
