After visiting Amberley museum yesterday with my son and grandsons my son treated me to a pint of Guinness at the George and Dragon which had wonderful views. We then drove over to North Stoke and drove for ages along a road which ended nowhere but the views were beautiful. Saw this Church and would have loved to have gone in but the children were a bit tired so will try again. Love viewing these views of Sussex at places I have never been to. My late Uncle Ernie lived at Parsonage Farm in Barnham and died at the age of 101. I felt his presence yesterday in this lovely area of West Sussex. Thank you for a super film.

I was up at North Stoke Church on 7/4/23 with one of my daughters showing her where i was christened over 70 years ago and where I was born along with my brother in one of the farm cottages , and fondly remember the church services and the harvest festivals in the church , my parents left the farm when I was 16 but I have a lot of memories if the life up there especially the Church

Very Lovely Church North Stoke was & Dr. Anabelle was quite informative! Would love to see more w/ her. I wondered if that grave stone for William Longe was related to any of my Long/Longe ancestors - I must look into it!!!

I know you are related to everyone of historic note, so must be. :)

@@RichardVobes haha! Not quite! But seems like an aweful lot of those Norman Lords - of course its seems like they were all related to each other!!!

FANTASTIC CHURCH ! Another great place l would never have known about. I wonder if the hand holding up the church references Christ being the keystone of the Church? Thank you Annabelle.

The church in Pickering up in Yorkshire is worth a visit if you want to see medieval frescoes.

I had a Harris tweed jacket for 40 years and would still be wearing it if I could do the buttons up. So I had to buy a new one. Tip never get it dry cleaned as it takes out the natural water proofing.

A great shame that English parish churches became so tasteful and austere, when the surfaces were once so graphic and colourful. "The Stripping of the Altars" book documents the huge popular support the church had before the reformation, in contrast to subsequent propaganda.

Thanks for the tip on the book - I will have to search it out.
