When I Evolved A Creature So Bad It Broke The Game in Spore

- I wanted to see what would happen if I put as many parts as possible on a single creature. I installed a mod that makes parts much cheaper, but that still wasn't enough to get me the maximum parts. I realized that if I bought the parts for cheap, I could uninstall the mod and sell them for up to 5x what I bought them for. Some time later and I have 999 points to spend. Whether it's jets, eyes, beaks or whatever part I have a lot of fun building terrible creatures. Spore gameplay with my commentary as always!

1: add legs

4: apply all other unnecessary attachments (eyes, mouths, other useful parts, etc) directly to knees
5: add arms stretching waaay too high up
6: chose disgusting color palette for the entire creature
7: ???
8: evolve beyond the point of terrifying
9: profit
10: repeat from step 6 forever

Is It Just me or the game is running at low fps? Also this is a long time coming, Spore is perfect for DF
probably directx issues on win10. df can replace some dlls on the spore folder and it'll run just fine. i had those issues when trying to play grand chase
Yeah, I noticed that, too. Have you checked SpiffingBrits' Spore video? It was even more glitched.
It seemed that most newer systems can't handle real-time recording so well for Spore.
support for directx 9 or so (which probably has been used on those old games) has not been continued, but a quick download of dxd9.dll on spore's executable path should make it a little better :)

3:50 Yea, well, those kind of creatures actually exist in real life, in that they have literally no ability to sense the environment except for literally in front of them. They zoom around at high speeds and generally just hope to run into prey.

@@rezonantsarachnids5351 You cant quite 'Remove' it, but you can up the limit significantly. It might only work for the menu creature creator rather than the in game creature creator though. some people are able to remove it completely, but i presume that is done with mods.

@@BlazingImp77151 i have used the unlimited complexity mod but its great because at a certain number of parts the creature stops animating, go a bit further its straight up invisble and further again the game just crashes when you view it or encounter it ingame. Console commands would make it way more interesting

@@slayerguy1789 i dont know what version/mod you're playing on but i'm pretty sure that isn't the case in the regular version
Speed in cell stage is the only attribute that actually stacks. Having more of any other attribute (like mobility, eyes, poison, electrocute) doesn't make it better. Speed does improve, yet the limit is 5, so 2 jets and 1 cilia is the maximum speed+mobility already. Adding flagella to the mix could possibly improve the experience as flagella keep the movement speed consistent instead of short bursts of acceleration the jet and cilia provide. It doesn't get reflected in the creature stats though.
Edit: some folks on spore wiki say adding more poison makes the poison cloud last longer and adding more electrocute part improves the arc recharge rate. I didn't notice that to be the case, but I didn't play the game with the stopwatch :-D

...anyone wanna tell him that all stats are capped at five? So you reach top speed with just three jets.
The difference is that jets are bursts in one direction, flagella are consinsistent speed, but also provide you the lowest movement speed, and the little fin things are practically a hybrid between jets and flagella but you can make really good turns with them. Also, getting poison makes you immune to poison (only in cell stage), and getting electricity makes you immune to getting shocked (again, only in the cell stage).

Cell-stage protip: Jets are actually the _worst_ of the three types of movement parts. Their pulsed propulsion actually slows you down just enough to where things can get away from you. I recommend putting one set of fins on for the fast turning and then just spamming flagella. Your speed stat is capped at 5 no matter how many parts you put on anyways.

I used to spend hours breaking this game in vanilla out of boredom.
My favorite thing to do was to spawn hundreds of epic monsters in space stage and have them throw my hologram into the ocean at high speed so that my creature would be stuck orbiting the planet indefinitely. Other than that it was just fun to create and spawn epic monsters on space colonies and watch the chaos ensue. May or may not have created epic monsters with wieners that shot fireballs and picked up citizens with said appendage..
Sadz lol, I tried making anatomically... well as close to as possible in spore... humans... although they had characteristics of both men and women... (I even put the three grass piece things on a “bone plate”....)
I remember playing this in my friends computer and not knowing what or how to play but I made a pink dinosaur-velociraptor looking thing😂
In the cell stage, there is a limit on speed. There is also a glitch you can preform in the cell stage that allows you to put a spike in a claw mouth. It is preformed by making the body as big as you can, placing a mouth on the front and scaling it to max size, placing a spike somewhere else and scaling it down to minimum size, then placing the spike in the middle of the mouth. After that you can replace the spike with whatever you want and/or scaling it and the mouth however you want.

This reminds me of a game I used to play when I was really little that I've always tried to remember
Spikes are the best feat in the cellular stage...they defend and can also be used offensively. If you have enough spikes you can avoid being eaten because anyone who gets close enough would get poked.
If DF ever becomes a god, the entire humanity is doomed.

The day has come where you play my absolute fav game!!!!
There is a speed limit, I usually have 3 mouths up front, max speed, and then cover it all in spikes, I also use eyes. That is the actually perfect creature. Btw there are cheats to unlock all parts, get dna, and have no part limit. Also if u add electricity and poison instead of some spikes you can be immune to other zaps and poisons. Also you have to be careful with what speed you chose, I usually make them as small as possible and add a lot of the tail looking thing and the fast turns.
You found the possession glitch, it allows you to take over a larger cell body, and use it as your own. In your case it was dead so it was a prison instead of a speed bonus
I don't know if you're planning to play through the whole game but here is a bit of advice for during the final stage. The number of settlements on a species home planet is always higher than what you can build. If you want to min max, your best bet is crushing anyone you come across and taking their home planet. After that, destroy their settlements near any other star. You get much more spice by placing a monolith and conquering the species you evolved the moment they reach the space stage.
Oh, and don't hesitate to destroy the settlements that you are forced to build at the start of the space stage. They are useless. And I think we all know what happens to useless settlements. Feel free to destroy the planet while you're at it.

My favorite design tends to have a *large* spike in front, with two mouths on either side, one large gas pod, and a bunch of smaller squiggly tail things, that look like a furry ass. There's rarely an exposed middle because I tend to make it circular.

There are actually cheat codes in the game but I have forgotten how to open up the cheat menu but I do still remember some codes: adddna - it adds dna; moremoney - gives you more mony (for later stages); freecam - lets you move around the camera freely.
