Your enthusiasm in all your videos is fantastic. Really enjoy them. Keep up the good work 😊😊
Thanks!! 😄
How about calling it the Fricking No Pavement Way, It was a interesting video G! At least there was A Train as well.
A train i could barely see over the big wall 😂😂
Or the No fricking way
Hi G, very well done, 9 hrs 3min's is an excellent time. So if you knock off the leg rest periods after each hour's walking you'll be able to see your actual aalking time...🙂 I bet you were glad of the train ride back home, you must have slept well that night...
Take care,
Jon B.
great video G, you are a inspiration to everyone on this channel and beyond
Congrats on such a long trek. Thought it may have been Southport the nearest. Well deserved refreshments and the relaxing train back i hope. Enjoy the summer x
Thanks cant wait for the summer!
Bloody hell G, that's a stroll and a half! I was a wee bit tired just watching. Hope the train back home was a relaxing one?! 🙂
Oh yes i enjoyed the train ride!
i really enjoyed watching this & the walk looks like a good walk to do & Crosby Beach is amazing & i visited Crosby in 2022 awesome vlog as always
Thanks Michael!
Are you mad? 9 hours walking, my legs ache just watching!
But a great video as usual. Very well done 🎉🎉🎉
Now John O Groats to Lands End 😂😂😂
Lol need a longer break before that one! 😂
That was a brilliant video, I really enjoyed it. That was quite a walk you did there. I don't like walking along roads, makes it seem interminable and you never quite feel safe. So I sympathise there. Great going though, I enjoyed it just as much as your rail adventures. If you are going to do any more of this kind of thing, can I suggest getting yourself some decent walking boots and waterproofs? They don't have to be crazy expensive ones. Also, a walking pole helps too. I used to think they were a bit of an affectation but they make a difference on long walks, help spread the load a bit. Well done lass.
Yes the walking boots are on my list 😂
Marvellous experiencing the walk you completed while narrating all the way - me ?- I would have been gasping for breath ! Well done !
Haha I was the amount of outtakes I did 😂
You more or less walked straight past my house when you first crossed into Merseyside!! 😁
Well done G that's a bloody long walk
Thanks it was haha
Brilliant video Madam, thoroughly enjoyable.
Thank you for sharing G
I've been watching you for 2 years and recently decided to become a subscriber. It sounds like a fun challenge timing your walk to the coast without finding out online how long it takes. Good video, G.
Thanks a lot! 👍
Hi G great video love it x
That's a fair trek, well done 👏
It was tbh haha cheers!
I really enjoy your videos. I'm a train enthusiast so love your train vlogs, but also appreciate you doing videos like this. Something different. You must be quite fit to walk 20 miles. Well done!
Thanks glad you enjoyed 😄
What a walk ! Although you didn't walk to my old home town (Formby) you did walk through Thornton, which is where I went to high school 40 years ago now (Holy Family High). I now reside in Melbourne but hope to get back one day.
Excellent video as always...
Cheers!
Fantastic vlog G your poor legs and feet must have been killing after that
Yeah more me feet 😂
Great walking Vlog G! Greatly motivating and incredible commitment!
Thanks!
Glad you got sidewalk throughout the journey. In some roads, there won’t be any sidewalks and we will be stuck
Loved this video! That's epic. I used to Live in Crosby and Maghull....loads of places I recognised in that video, loved it.
Ah thats cool, thanks!
Entertaining video G, loved the background music too 😊
Thanks!
Great vid G ❤
Thanks!
Great vlog G! Well done for getting all the way to that lovely beach in 9 hours! 👍🏖
Thanks! 👍
Slightly mad G haha but wow a fantastic walk youve done, so brilliant to do that treak hope the feet are recovering by now!! 🙄 The brilliant tune goes so well with this walk bit of Irish magic a great blog whot was that tune called G very catchy 😊
Thought it sounded like the Wizard of Oz song, can never remember what these songs are called 😂
Well done, great effort that! Those sandy beaches in Merseyside are incredible I was at Southport for an event last year and the it looks the same as you ended up, also the dunes are very beautiful! Have a great week!!
Thanks, have a great week too!
Loving the videos G, out of interest how many steps did the walk take?
That's a Herculean effort G, great effort, and video.
Thanks!
I just started watching - great video. I see you went through Orrell after leaving Wigan. I always associate that town with Rugby Union. One Saturday in the 1990s when I was doing my railway job I saw a sign for Orrell and I thought I'd have a look at the ground. But as soon as I entered the town I saw a locksmith and it just so happened that I needed a load of keys copying for a job we'd just started. So I called in and they made the keys on the spot. So that locksmith made a pretty tidy profit just off the back of the rugby team. I never did get to the ground though because I still had 5 or 6 sites to inspect and I wanted to do it in the daylight.
Damn, 9 hours!!!!! Congrats on making it all the way there 🤜🤛
Thanks! 👊
Very impressive G, I think I'd still be walking, nice views, and you did manage to find flowing water, really enjoyable vlog. Looking forward to the next one, Stay safe.
Very big flowing water at the end 😂
Great vlog G and nice walk from the Wigan to the coast, I tell you something I live about as far as away from the coast you can get in the Uk so I’m never doing a walk like this lol.
Hahaha probs for the best 😂
Well done completing that massive long walk along the Fricking Way. It makes me feel tired just thinking about walking that far in a single day
1:45 "Asda on the move" almost sounds like a collaboration between Cyber Trades and Jen 🤣
It should be 😂😂
Thanks for the walk G,that's sure some distance too walk with blisters too. We'll done you have made me fill knackered !!😎🚝🚝🚝🚝🇬🇧💚
Really enjoying the travel vlogs! Great take on it. Crosby beach is so beautiful, so long as you don’t have to shield your eyes from a sand blasting. Absolute class that you didn’t use one of the Anthony Gormley men for your trademark finale!
Haha cheers!
Great video G! I would probably need limbs replacing if I did a walk like that but glad you enjoyed it and beating your worst enemy non paved roads but again great video and walk! 🙂👍🏻
Conquered my enemy mwhaha 😂
Great Video G, u are inspiring everyone on this channel and beyond
Thanks!
@@GLovesTrains your welcome i have dropped u a message on your insta i hope thats ok
Great change of subject vlog G and hope your feet and legs have recovered & loved the music in this vlog😀

Hellos 😄
Everything looks so green and well hydrated, you are lucky the weather was dry, hope you avoided getting any blisters!
Thanks they've gone down now haha
G Loves blisters that was very impressive. Very well done 👏🏻👍🏼
Haha yup! 😂
Brilliant video G, I dunno if I'd be able to go on a walk that long or even go for walk along roads with no pavements lol.
Yeah them grassy pavements were not fun! 😂
Damn good show. Not a bad pace with stops.
Thanks!
Well done G! I've done that walk from Wigan to Skelmersdale once when I went for a night out in Wigan with some friends way back in the 80s. We couldn't get a taxi back to Skem for some reason so we had to walk. It took us 2-3 hours to get home!
Oh blimey what a night!
G Loves Pain🤣🤔Good on you for doing that walk G!
😂😂 lol thanks!
Great video, G! You can certainly walk further than I can!!
At least its a train to get you back!
Haha yeah was so happy sitting on a train afterwards 😂
@@GLovesTrains You'd get a seat to yourself, because you'd be stinky.
I walked 30km to Glenelg, South Australia and no one would sit next to me on the tram.
I walked from Cairns to Kuranda and they gave me a whole Skyrail gondola to myself.
@@mattytee2893 Its a bit warmer in Cairns than Wigan......Lol.
@@mattytee2893 I forgot to ask, why didn't you get the train from Cairns or back?
@@jcmimages9729 I did it I think when the train wasn't running due to track damage (I have been sneaky and hiked up the railway line when the trains weren't running, the curved bridge is a highlight). That time I hiked up the Douglas Track. There are two tourist trains each way on a normal day. The Skyrail gondola is pretty much turn up and go. The cabins take up to 6 passengers, unless you're stinky (and I definitely was)
From the bottom of the Skyrail there are buses back to the city. Again I don't think anyone sat next to me.
Wow!!! good on you well done.
Cheers!
Crosby beach is such a fascinating place probably no more than a 5 minute walk up the coast line from where you finished is a section of beach that at the end of the second world war was used as a dumping ground for all the rubble from the blitz, spending a couple of hours beach combing there can reveal some beautiful artefacts!
Yes I need to go to the blitz beach at some point 👍
G who ever put you up for this… we can go a ruff them up… if you want…. Just for putting you through this ordeal!
Don't do that to me! 😂
It looks pretty nice up there, I will visit one day.
Really enjoyed this, made me laugh several times and got to see random parts of the UK too.
Thanks glad to hear 😄
Great to watch this one. I'm planning to do Walk The Wight next May. Fancy joining in? C'mon, it's only 27 miles 😁
27?! 😂
Looks like the avanti west coasts class 805s are now in service, I imagine that will be a future video soon, I've heard positive things about them so far,
A g loves walks video today 🚶♀️😊
Aye I'm lookin forward to riding them!
@@GLovesTrains I hopefully I can get on one since they are going through Coventry and I look forward to seeing the video when you get to go om one 😊
'Would i do that again? Absolutely not'. Made me laugh :D Fun video, thanks a lot
Never again! 😂
Well done G
Cheers!
8:45 And that folks is why there is a bus that goes straight from the Wigan to Southport hahaha
Yep ahhaa
Depends on what you mean by the coast for example do tidal parts of rivers count in which case the river at Preston might count which must be tidal as it has a docks and,as a bonus,a preserved dock railway.
I do like going for a long walk meself but that was a mega walk well done
Cheers!
Trekking Gloves...I dig it!!!!
Well done G. If I did that walk, I'd probably not stop, even at 66😀. I find if I stop, that's it. I can't get going again.
Yeah towards the end it was like that 😀
Great Vlog G. I often go to Crosby as, like you said, it’s the nearest coast to The Wigan and it’s bad enough driving there let alone walking. Big respect for walking it, that’s some distance. At least it wasn’t Euxton Balshaw lane style and racing a train 🤣🤣
Haha ye stick to the driving 😂
It was clearly an arduous task but what an interesting idea! for the sections away from main roads (assuming there were some) it must've felt like a much-needed escape, and definitely so once you got to the beach :)
I've been planning to do my first long-distance walk nearby there soon from Southport to Halewood via the Trans Pennine Trail (which seems to be much more reliably paved :P) and I want to do it even more now so thanks for that :)
Mostly roads on mine but the transpennine trail should be great!
That's quite a long walk!
I think 2 miles (give or take) would have taken me out completely 😅 Nice waltz to the beach!
Haha cheers Steggs!
Eeee, what a grand day out! 9 hours and three minutes, you say? It used to take us ten and a half from Wigan in my Auntie Joan's Datsun Sunny back in the day, mainly because she never got out of second gear and often got lost. I still remember the sound of the engine screaming as we went down Parbold Hill!!
Haha sounds fun! 😄
Great effort G! You're mad, but I really enjoy your vlogs
Thanks!
Hi. I enjoyed watching your videos. You could have walked the Liverpool to Leeds canal and you would have had water all the way to the sea.
Ye I'm saving that for another time 😄
Great stamina! Did you have a camera person at 3:11? If not, how did you achieve that magic‽
Camera tracking thing 😂
Sweet, Good Walker... ! Did you happen to see Robin O" the Hood?? 😄 I love the Background Music 🎶❤️😄 It was so fun to walk with you GLoves...!! 9... Hours..!!?? 😳 I must have miss it... How many Ks??🤔 I liked a lot the scenery was fantastic. Let's do it again some time, would you? May be in your Bike? 😃 Thanks for the walk! Have a good rest in the train back.👍
Thanks haha I'd be shattered doing it on a bike! 😂
@@GLovesTrains l bet you can do it in a well maintained Bike, with shifts and good gears. 😉😄👍🚲
I recommend the beach at Freshfield.
Great video G. A 9 hour walk ! Just think what you save on gym fees !
Haha 😄
Well Done G, You don't just Talk the Lovely Talk you Walk the Walk, Shame you were not sponsored , how many cups of caramel coffee's For Part 2 Coast to Wigan? hope you had a comfortable ride back home, take Care G
Haha trains back all the way 😂
Merseyside don’t have signs since while the county does still exist it’s managed by smaller metropolitan boroughs instead of a traditional county council.
Gloves Train the new train class 805 is finally on Service
I would not walk for over hour between the places i would do it by train good video g
20 miles...9 hours. So about 2.2 mph. Yup, you walk faster than I run. Well, ever since I destroyed my ankle and foot, running is complicated.
Crikey - 9 hours ! good work....
Cheers!
9 hours and 3 minutes ! Ha ha well done !
Lol yeah them 3 minutes very important
omg if i have to walk 30 minutes im knackered lol well done
Haha cheers!
You took the scenic route? 🙂
Well done, but would the canal have made a more pleasant walk between Wigan and Maghull?
Definitely more pleasant, was considering diverting onto the canal but woulda taken so much longer 😂
Great walk. You must have started at 5 am - that's keen! BTW, why do you refer to your home town as 'The Wigan'?
Coz I love it 😀
@@GLovesTrains That's a reason enough!!
Furthest i've walked is Spingfield to St Helens and Springfield to Chorley. Your mad ...
I thought it took 9 minutes because of your video
I love that accent. I live in New Zealand so I don't get to hear it down here....Lol.
Lol thanks!
drove back thru wigan today took nearly as long as your walk g lol
Haha!
well done G. Now please rest. i used to do long walks , But now i get the bus.
Thanks i will
I really want to go to Another Place for so many personal reasons
Great walk. Did you check your step count?
Cheers and no I didn't count 😂
It is a nice walk, did you have blisters on your feets?
Yea 😂
how far waas it? x
Snottytastic Video ❤
❤
Great video as usual G! I hope you had a ride on a 777 on the way back!
Of course I did! 😄
So, just how many miles did you walk? I bet you were shattered after nine hours on the move, and I have to say I admire you doing that!
Cheers haha me feet were knackered and not too sure exactly how many miles tbh it said 20.5 when I searched
@@GLovesTrains Wow! That's dedication. Hope your feet have recovered!
