In the OG, Tifa and Aerith were presented more as rivals than friends, and you had dialogue options with them, even if they were often clunky, that allowed you somewhat romance one or the other. And that's where Team Tifa vs. Team Aerith was born. I do prefer seeing them a lot more as friends though, and would say that was one of the best changes made in Remake. That being said, Team Tifa forever! lol
