I'm new to Cubase, just learning my way around the trial version, so this is a huge time saver, thanks so much, I did subscribe. A lot of great info, concise with examples.
Born To Produce that's the coolest combination of Cubase shortcuts ever! Alt+F3 is my favorite because I was annoyed by always opening and closing the lower zone with that button in the right top corner.
@@Borntoproduce thanks for your help I ll check it out. Strangely my cubase doesn't respond to the numbers, it doesn't switch tools when pressing 1, 2, 3 etc. I use cubase 9.5 with a MacBook pro from 2009. Any idea why?
@@klijmodjjoskr17 The only thing I can think of is that another program you have running might be using the same keyboard shortcut keys. Apart from that I don't know why they would not work
Omg thank you so much, Jay, these are FANTASTIC time-savers! 1/4 were ones I knew, the rest were either ones I wished I'd had - or ones I never knew I needed but now realise I do!!! Thanks for sharing :)
Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to assign custom key commands in Cubase to VST functions, for example assigning a certain key on the computer keyboard to switch a guitar effect on and off etc? If so, how? Thanks.
I believe this is only available in Cubase 9.5 and higher. Click the little cog, with a box next to it in the top right of the project window and tick 'lower transport panel', then you'll see it.
Great vid, many thanks. Quick question (to all), does anyone know how to fast scroll on the mixer (ie from home to end or first track to last track/bus)? I know how to edit hotkeys but cant for the life of me find the right parameter. Many thanks, Jon
hi, is there any shortcut for in and out locators? you know like press i and o in adobe premiere for in and out? if i remember correctly there's shortcut for that back when i use nuendo 4, i'm using nuendo 10 now
Hi there! In case you didn't know (I'm sure you do) when you're into the X for crossfading push it twice and you can edit or select a different curve for your fades.....
Essential video. Should add it to the Cubase 10 Ultimate Beginners Guide. It would have been the first video I did. Coming over from Logic, this video is exactly what I was looking for. Logic short cuts feel a little more natural, but Cubase short cuts are not something I can't get used to. Unlike Pro Tools short cuts which didn't make sense to me. Compared to Cubase and Logic, it feels like Pro Tools wants to do everything the hard way. I suppose it makes sense if you start out with Pro Tools first.
Thanks, back in the day author Simon Millward Cubase guides showed excatly these types of tips, shame he no longer writes them. My question is where do you find these tips nowadays? I don’t see anything on the online pdf’s.
There are at least lists of them in many places, like this one: defkey.com/steinberg-cubase-10-5-shortcuts Although, they aren't explained with examples, just listed.
You might find the '0' (zero) on the numpad does what you need it to. The other option is to use a marker track and then you can jump to markers as you see fit with a key press :)
Other than clicking and dragging I am unaware of anyway to do this. I would love it though if you could as moving tracks around is a bit of a pain in a big project
@@Borntoproduce for some reason some of the shortcuts you mentioned don' t apply to the cubase 10 pro i'm using... I was wondering if you are demonstrating on a specific shortcut presets bundled with cubase
@@YaronKeren No not at all. This is the standard Cubase 10 Pro and should work. You can even look these shortcuts up in the user manual. Not sure why they are not working on your system. Strange
No, but that's because there are multiple track types to pick from. Also, you can create multiple of the same track when you do it, rather than create one at a time :)
Very very very Useful. Thanks
Fantastic video. Thanks for your help. :)
Thank you very much!!! Nice shortcuts!

Great video for beginners. Any shortcut to go to the left locator of the loop without a number pad?
No, but you can change the key bindings to a different key on your keyboard if you go to 'edit', 'key commands' :)

hi these shortcuts don't seem to apply to cubase le ai elements. do you have any tutorials for this form of cubase?
Is there also a button to cycle through quantization settings or does it have to be mapped first?

Can you add a document to this. Or have time stamps to each shortcut?
is there a shortcut that moves the mouse towards where the track begins? like if it has a part where there is nothing active until it starts
