Hey Matthew! Since I was watching your video, I thought I would tell you about last week down at Pensacola Beach. My wife and I had a couple of nights at our daughter's condo so we went out on the coldest and windest day of the the year! LOL My first cast was of course, using my Bummy Stick which I purchased last year! My spuntnik got caught on my sand spike, Yes, and it broke about two feet off my favorite rod ever!!! LOL When we got back home to Montgomery, I called Matt Poole and he happened to have one that he sent me immediatly. Matt is a great guy and I can see why you have enjoyed working with him and Ninja Tackle. We must have talked for half an hour on the phone and we just laughed about the incident. He said the rods are designed to catch fish and not sandspikes! LOL I was very sad that morning and caught nothing but freezing cold wind. Thank God I got my Bummy Stick back and Thanks for Ninja Tackle for being a great company. I would certainly recommend there products and support to anyone!!!

Try and go back. I got to take my dad once to the beach. He has since passed and I never got a chance to take him back. So try to make it back.

Great video! Some pretty big sharks! Congrats on that. It’s definitely an arm workout. Biggest shark I caught on my own from the surf was a 56 inch (to the fork) nurse shark. I’m glad I was recording that day! I almost passed out on the way back to my car after that fight. They are strong!
I love using 20 lb braid with a mono leader for fishing the beach. Spinners have a tendency to break the braid main line… not from the pull but from wrapping up or contacting the tail. But I love the medium size rods and lighter line for everything else.

So excited for this! I’m “bummed” that we will be there too early for the grand opening but I may come know on the doors easter weekend to shake hands with y’all! Matt, you and Brad and Brant have inspired my gulf shores fishing ever since I was first introduced to the area 4 years ago and now our family has 2 properties in GS that we come down to visit and fish at least 2x a year and a lot of it is because of the stuff I’ve learned from this channel! Thanks for all your wisdom and congrats on all of the success, looking forward to having another bigger better spot in town to spend all my money on fishing gear at 😁😁😁

I wish I could make it down for the grand opening, but I will be stuck working the annual shutdown and overhauls at work. I am still trying to work out a trip down there anyway.

That's light tackle for those size sharks. The line class is anyway, 20lb test is light line for sharks that size.

What a show! Really great video thank you. I've a question about your beach fishing course. Do you think the same principles will apply world wide? My son and I are headed to the Philippines and I'd very much like to do some fishing there.
Since the basic principles are about niches on the ecosystem, I think they'll apply everywhere. There'll be differences, of course, but the basics should be the same.
Beach bum, we stay at the 4 seasons with the private pier every year and my dad and I got to meet you last year, where is shark fishing allowed near there? Every pier says no shark fishing and I know it's not allowed in the state park. Thanks!

Spinners are better than tarpon.
Spinners are certainly easier to catch than Tarpon. It is not hard to get a Tarpon to hit a lure, but getting a good hook set and landing them is another thing. I lose ten Tarpon for every one landed. They usually grab the bait, go airborne and then toss it right out. Then there is usually a bad word or two uttered in frustration. Kind of humbling actually. 😜

You freak me out everytime you start cranking down the drag. Watch TAF fishing how to set your drag. Keep the lines tight not too tight though.
That had to be one of the most boring shark videos I have ever seen. Sharks are not even fun to catch or especially watch someone else catch. Its just my opinion😎
