    That Wilco Live set is just fantastic. I come across this box in a mall coffee shop in Manila of all places They had a small record selection and were doing a buy one get the another of equal or lesser value free. They had the Music on Vinyl copy of Rain Dogs by Tom Waits there as well so I grabbed the Wilco box set for a very good price and got the Tom Waits as well for free which was priced almost the same as the Wilco set. I've never had such good fortune again but that was a great day

    The coolest thing I found in the wild this year was an original pressing of Television’s Marquee Moon. Pretty good find in a small town like mine! My favorite album this year was The Replacements Tim (Let it Bleed Edition). The remix of that album is mind blowing. There was always an amazing album there hidden beneath the plate reverb and 80s production. It’s as if I was listening to the album in a cavern all those years. Completely mind blowing.

    The Kids Will Have Their Say by SS Decontrol
    A classic punk album that hadn’t been reissued in forty years. I had a recording of it on cassette as a kid, which I must have listened to a thousand times. Never thought I would own a copy of it. The reissue is 45 rpm and sounds great.

    Great video as usual. Thank you for sharing. You can´t really discuss "taste" in music, but it's great to see you are very ecclectic, and I definitely relate to your choices. The opening track of the Mosters of Rock record is a masterpiece. Can´t wait to get a hold of that reissue... And you don´t get a lot of people praising Helmet's Meantime. I have the CD and look forward to grabbing that LP. It was a personal favourite during my teenage years. I also got the Ellington/Coltrane LP this year (altough, unfortunately, not your Japanese pressing...) and I am loving it. Also I took notes on some records/bands I haven´t heard of and that I will check out for sure, so thank you again. Best Wishes! All the best for you and NTX in 2024!

    Wow GI, your taste is very diverse! Awesome! Love all the Jazz titles ❤. I wasn’t aware of that Tom Petty Mojo on vinyl. I’m on it now. I’m also a longtime Springsteen fan and got to see him during the Ghost Of Tom Joad Tour. During that tour it was a Bruce solo intimate affair and he demanded a lot of quiet from the audience. He performed in theaters and I loved it. I saw him at the Tower, which is a burb of Philly. Yes, I’m a Philly guy. Your video rocks! 👍

    None/Glaring "Selected Works 2017-2019". Lathe-cut 12 inch in an art packaging. 23 copies made. Found one on discogs using the "wanted" feature. Atmospheric electronica/coldwave.-- Also Swesor Bhrater "Sang Lié", the solid wood friendship edition of 10 copies only by 128 label out of Switzerland. Neofolk. -- Also discog all my records, added 195 titles this year, not counting some Bandcamp orders that have not arrived yet. Half are >2015, 40 of them are 2023 releases, including Bedless Bones [out of Estonia] "Mires of Mercury", only out on CD, but what a great record. Coldwave/EBM -- What 2023 new releases are you excited about?

    Love the Mojo album, when you mentioned that they would all get repressed eventually… Does that include Wildflowers? Do you really think that will get repressed? That’s one I’ve been waiting for, I just can’t justify the prices of an original. Fortunately, I have one from the red box set. It’s a great copy. Thank you, Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones.

      Wildflowers was finally reissued in 2020 - so it's out there, but currently awaiting repress. It'll come back for sure.

    I noticed that the all the 20 records you bought this year most of them were 40 or 50 years old A few were 30 years old!!Do you search for any modern music or just buy more classic stuff?

    • @NTXVinyl
      @NTXVinyl  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. Yes, I buy new music monthly. But just didn’t gesturing any in this specific video because when I think “coolest” my brain goes to more unique finds versus LPs just released and likely still avail.
      Have another video in the works about best of 2023 for new albums

    Nice pick ups for the titles but being a store owner you must know that those MoFi pressings you showed are inferior to even a clean original especially a hot stamper of an OG. I find the classics and mofi pressings you showed us to be a bit veiled/compressed in comparison to a good original. Not all originals sound amazing but as you know, no two originals sound the same but I did find those heavy weight modern repressings to all sound similar. Jacked up bass and treble with no mid is commonplace. Anyway, thanks for the post and all you do for the community

    • @NTXVinyl
      @NTXVinyl  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These all sound fantastic to my ears, otherwise I wouldn’t own them. And I have originals of most of them as well. Cheers

      Do you like the modern repressed lps better than your OGs?

    • @NTXVinyl
      @NTXVinyl  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Vinylfromtheundergroundnot a cookie cutter answer. Every LP is different. I have tons of original/older albums that sound great. I also have tons of reissues and remastered albums that sound great too. Technology has come a very long way, and that includes audio remastering/engineering. Just because something is new doesn’t make it bad.
