Sketchy Rock Climbing With No Rope...First Ascent?

Something about deep water free soloing is ridiculously intriguing. It's the purest kind of rock climbing, so simple and fun when the setup is right.
Standup paddleboarding around Lake Havasu, a climber can't help but get curious. The water is lined with cliffs and outcroppings full of fun-looking lines. From afar, a lot of them seem ripe for deep water soloing, although few are overhanging, the rock is generally atrocious and in most cases, the water isn't as deep as you'd like.
I'd been eyeing cliffs around the lake for a few days from the houseboat, goobing out and frothing to monkey around. Nothing we found was quite right. Then we paddled past this nug.
It looked vertical and deep from the approach. A definite go. I paddled over and anchored my board directly in the fall line like a dumb dumb. Halfway up the wall I realized-there's a reason why Havasu isn't known for free solo climbing. I'm no geologist, but I know the rock it's no bueno to hang on.
Holds popped the whole way up. It wasn't high, but it wasn't vertical either, and a fall would have sucked. I could have backed off, but the top was right there, so I went for it...slowly. Trying to be smart about an otherwise dumb decision, I made sure I had three "solid" points of contact the whole way up. Good thing, the last foothold popped as I topped out.
I might be the first person dumb enough to climb this thing, but it's hardly a FA. Probably just an ascent no one's bothered to claim. "Havasu No Idea" V0 R-.
For what it's worth, the drone footy came out kinda sweet. It's missing the best part, though-the way back down.
(To clarify, I don't suggest climbing around Havasu. But if you do, make sure you're over deep water. Or just don't. How bout that.)
