It probably would be temporarily but even SoD is still a long grind. There’s just so many things I don’t want want to repeat this soon in Classic. I would rather SoD stay an eternal realm that gets a couple content updates every few months.
I think the phased leveling is kind of crucial to the SoD experience. Because you got several phases on the way to 60 where crafting made the top gear piece for a slot. This meant that crafters were pushing their skill all the way up. And the Azeroth Commerce quests and the Dark Moon Faire stuff was relevant, because the only way to get a size 14 bag in phase one was through the dark moon faire.
SoD fresh is a bad idea. We finally have almost all the content out which would mean the game can finally flourish. There are ALOT of players leveling right now. Its actually pretty interesting. Some are coming from Fresh and realizing how horrendous the classes/leveling entails in OG Classic. Thus, Fresh is actually bringing new players to SoD and making them appreciate it more. Its quite funny. Nonetheless, the primary focus should be what comes after Naxx. Not of fan of SoD BC because there is literally no point. Half the purpose of an expansion is to cerate better class design but SoD already has all of that. Hence, the only new thing would be Outlands and that isn't really as appealing as new content in Azeroth in general.
I would play a SoD fresh. it takes a lot of time and effort to main a class and get all the rep and do everything. I feel I can't play more than one or if I push 2 characters with my schedule. I would love to try another class but without a fresh start the experience won't be the same. Just give it some time to wrap up and see Naxx and new content if/when they add it. Don't throw a fresh server at us before SoD has run it's course that would just split the population even more, we have already lost some to the anniversary fresh servers. I would also be open to a SoD2 with more experiments, lets see Hunter or Mage tanks :-)
I am gonna totally agree on this comment. Why repeat it all over again it's gonna suck to lose all the progress now we dont even have all raids and content released. I am quitting WoW when SOD is done now after 20 yrs finally
Yes. I've been chatting about this on and off and I really think it could be. Keep in the EXP buffs and the incursions being dallies. I think that would speed up the leveling to a point that would compel a great number of people with less time into max level and raiding. The big change I think needs to happen for SoD fresh would be an overhaul of the rune discovery process. The starter zone needs a starter quest which introduces new players to the process. There should be one of these quests at the normal phase break levels and they should tie together into the larger story with the shadowy figure (or something like that). Imagine these quests chaining into BFD and other raids to get your void touched gear and all the added flavor and story we could get from that!
I was going through BFD on an alt earlier today and thinking how fun it was to farm the pre-raid BIS and raid these new level up raids early in the phase. I’d absolutely get into a SoD fresh… maybe with even more phases with new level up raids.
I would for sure play SoD Fresh if the continue to TBC. With Classic fresh launch I was hoping play Every class at take them to 60, but its painfully slow except for Warrior/Mages. As you said, the Balance that SoD brings to classes like boonkins its wonderful
Would it do good ? Probably yes. Issue is like with everything thats been solved already, people would go for the most op things and that would be 90% of the classes out there. Where when its new, you have no idea whats what, and the classes balance themselves out for the most part and its more entertaining to see what you will get next and how things will look.
Honestly leveling an.alt is already a huge undertaking. People like you who already have a character is SoD and still would enjoy fresh simply spend too much time on this damn game man what can i say, do something else with your life irl ?? Also this would dilute the population and i think we can agree the dilution has gone far enough with all current versions of wow running.
I would love a SOD fresh at this point. Like you said, now that we know how classes play / feel at max level my opinion has changed quite a bit. Sadly, I feel there may not be enough time now to "catch up" if I leveled an alt mage or something. I started a new character after my guild died a few weeks ago due to not having enough raid attendance and it has been a pain trying to do dungeons. No one is simply gearing / running dungeons anymore, and that's just the sad state of SOD right now.
My issue with incursions was their initial access without bounds... leading to a game breaking meta. I've played retail wow 16 years doing day long grinds and even had a toon in a cave on transmog farm for an entire year. The repetitive nature of Incs doesn't burn me out. And a single toon's dailies are less than an hour for me to do. Usually under 30 mins with no distractions. Folks with no experience at long farms would go on to suffer from endless Inc loops and burnout.
I was very against incursions at first & in their first iteration. But then used them a ton while leveling alts as it was the fastest way to get xp and proff skill ups.
@@fkennethvudmaska9605 Incs are the alt meta. Quick painless and you get a decent gear set for the trouble. The ring alone is a great alt hearth to Fera about midway tween the ally Desolace and Fera FPs. The Duskwood is a decent location for quicker access to upper STV. The Catnip, and a mace at revered rep, are nice pickups for Druids. And for skinners... a stack of dreamscale vendors for 1 gold. Ore and herb stacks are not worth the sale. Skinning though can make a coin or two for their effort.
I would prefer sod tbc, just so I wouldn't have to wait a whole year for tbc classic classic. But if given enough time, a fresh updated model of sod, different runes, no level cap, and make rep account wide for a seasonal server. Then yeah, I'd give it another go. I love sod. It's had its rough patches, but overall, it's been great.
Nah SoD was a fun experiment but it's over. Time for real classic plus, or even minor balancing changes to the current anniversary fresh would be perfect
An unchanged SoD fresh would still have the impact of the Incursion meta. But they would be proper dailies second time round. Maybe remove the accelerated gold and xp bonus. And upfront. State SoD fresh will be progressive. Give the Sodcore their forever server like classic and retail. Long term goals builds communities that last.
I already game multiple hours a day in SoD. Having a repeat SoD brings nothing to my game so I would remain here until I see where retirement lands my toons. Now show me SoD Progressive and I'm there.
With the pvp balance being so horrible, even compared to classic era, I would have to say no. The classes are all over the top, the open world is a joke, people solo farming end level dungeons... all are bad things. But raiding is indeed better. I like the fact that anniversary has a few things borrowed from sod like the new pvp system, dual spec etc. Sod was/is fun, but please no more. Proper classic plus, no runes, less power creep, better balance. Epoch is around the corner, maybe that will be where it's at.
I believe not. Why? : -sod is still fresh -sod is based on adding content to classic beyond nax ( not just dungeons , making zones meaningful such as the content on stv, ashenvale, searing )
no it cant be succesfull because blizzard will release multiple other versions of wow at the same time which will always end in less content and more spread community
SoD's just got too much going on with all the glyphs. It's like retail with extra steps, especially after how the experience was ruined after the repeatable turn-in quests. I'd like all the new SoD dungeons and raids to be put into vanilla classic, throw any other changes to the community like OSRS does, slap a sticker on it and call it Classic+.
Blizzard have yet to figure out what seasonal content actually is...Its supposed to be fun and rewarding in ways the main game wont provide. Yet here we are back at aq40 grinding out reputation and consumes like nothing has changed.
