This is a timeless classic. God reached down from heaven and handed the Isley brothers this song that doesn't seize to amaze everytime you listen to it.
He's singing about his death, and leaving the love of his life behind. He's uncertain of what his future holds. He asks his love to let him go, so he can be free to go voyage to the uncertain. He is confident in his belief that a new love awaits him but his first love he will never forget. Verse 2... He comes back to her at the end of her life. His hopes are that his first love will be his for eternity. They say their goodbyes to the earthly world as he and her are setting sail on a journey to paradise together.

There is like a Atlantis in Dubai UAE like a paradise. You gotta go and take some Isley Brothers music too. I been and I'm going back❤❤
I'm 37 years old and have never paid attention to the Isley Brothers. After 2 weeks solid of listening to this beautiful song it's hard to imagine that I could have avoided this song for that long. I consider myself a pretty educated music lover too. I feel like I've added another book to the shelf.

Here before sza fans.
SZA'S USING THIS
When my future wife and I are dancing at our wedding, this song is going to be playing.
Ronald Isley's effortess tone and voice. The crazy guitar riffs from his brother. Gorgeous song.
