I completely agree with Choco. It's for the losing side to decide where a fight was good or not. You won the fight, so of course it was "good." But for the other side? Maybe it's third time in a row that PUBG has froze for them for a split second leading to an another lose - you definitely wouldn't want to hear "good game" after losing to something out of your control. Basically, show some empathy, you don't know what the other side is going through. You're not REQUIRED to say GG. You fought the game was good? Cool, you can say this to yourself and move on. If the other side says GG, then respond with GG and all is good. Waiting for the losing side to decide whether it's a GG or not, doesn't take away anything from the experience, but might improve it for both parties. Therefor, just as Choco says, the winner refraining from saying GG until the other side says it is the more understanding option out of the two.
this is a perfect explanation of what I was saying. I never say gg first out of respect and not wanting to tilt my opponents.
I feel like there are 4 ways to think about it. You can go right and wrong with empathy. And you can go wrong and right with rudeness. An example to this - MMA fighters are drawing blood in the ring and being rude. But in between fights they will smile and touch gloves. Good way to be rude. You can admire someone for the strength, with which they trample you while fighting.
Tgltn is the best example to this. He kills in such a way that that you didn't think was possible and high speed too. Yet people smile and admit it when he says 'killed by best'. Killed by the best is the strongest way to say gg and i agree with it. If I was best like tig at anything, i would graduate my gg to killed by best.
And I don't think you are soft or weak. My first assumption would be that you are kind.

All of this gg etiquette talk gives me high school vibes. If you’re an adult and someone who sounds sincere says gg to you and you get mad, that’s your hangup. Especially in online games where most people speak incredibly hatefully at the drop of a pin, inferring a slight at gg seems overly sensitive.

Yeah if I have an actual good fight with someone and I enjoyed it, I definitely say something along the lines of hey that was a really good fight for real, gg. it is about tone and situation. obviously, you go up to someone and are just like haaa gg or something dumb like that then yeah, of course, it sounds so annoying and toxic. But just to say hey gg on that fight isn't a bad thing. people who play fighting games say gg win or lose all the time

It depends, If you are a skilled player or not, normally a bad player dying to someone good will appreciate a gg, but someone as good as choco will definetly feel infuriated, as Ried said it "When do you not get mad", it suits choco the best, choco 90% of the time shows it on his face that he hates it, as one of the best article on the word "F" said it the best, "Say it loudly and proudly GGGGGGGGGGGG GGGGGGGGGGGG".

If I lose a fight and someone says GG, I take that as meaning 'hey good fight, but Im better than you'. I then become FURIOUS.
