If you make a good comedy movie that is absurd, make it as absurd as possible to the point where it can only be funny in a good way. When this movie was dubbed, it was better than the original. In my own country, the characters were dubbed with a Turkish accent and it was even funnier than usual.
I don't see how it could be better than the original when half the jokes aren't even translatable. It can still be funny, sure, but most of the jokes are anchored in French culture and are much more relevant (and thus funny) in French than in any other language. And that's true for basically any movie, but especially for comedies.
