One of the reasons I watch your videos is because you keep an upbeat attitude even despite deserving to be incredibly frustrated. It’s sad that this is a GAME, that some people choose to enjoy and others are so thirsty for a win that they’ll do anything to get it. Players like you deserve to keep getting ahead. Sorry someone was so awful, bro keep doing your thing.
Someone took prize cards when shuffling their deck, and the judge next to us didn’t see it twice, so I couldn’t call them lol. The person I played next said that the guy I watched take prize cards, got dq’d for top, and mid stacking in juniors too.
The issue is not the new system. It highlights the biggest issue of Pokémon tournaments. 50mins is not enough for a Pokémon BO3. The game hasn't been designed like that. It's been designed for a 30mins BO1. So for a BO3, we should have 90mins. The 50mins bO3 pace comes from MTG where there is way less deck manipulation.
I don't care what a person's personal baggage is. That doesn't give people the right to take it out on others. Screw them. I hope you start standing up for yourself in future games. It sucks seeing you lose/tie games to situations like this
Man sorry to hear about those garbodor matches you had with those people. That really blows man. But I just wanted to say thank you again for the interview it was a ton of fun and I really enjoyed meeting you. Hope to see you again when I go to Toronto
Players should not be afraid to call a judge if they feel their opponent is being suspicious. Worst thing is we don't see and can't rule on what is being asked. Also, if a player is being disrespectful, call a judge. It'll be a he said/she said situation (which is a headache, trust me on that) but the call will be there and the judge staff will know about it for future rounds.
hey man, I think it was round 6 31:23 , but i believe you played against an older guy playing bolt and I actually was seated next to you, thanks again for inspiring me to play pokemon it was great actually meeting you no matter how short it was for. I could tell you were a very genuine guy and very approachable. Best of luck to you in the future.
Nooooooo-I HATE unsportsmanlike conduct. Why are they even playing if they are gonna cry about it! The odds of them being champion, c’mon. So sad to see this, you’re the best, keep it up!
Lesson to everyone here, you have to call a judge in tournaments with money or points on the line - its not personal but if you dont call a judge you should make sure that you are going to be 100% ok with the outcome of what ever the game is
100% I'm so used to de-escalating and letting people take things back it really gets the better of me. Gonna always do judge calls going forward after this learning lesson.
It was a good call, I got 2nd with Espathra ex at a challenge like 2 weeks ago :). I could've gotten 1st if I didn't have 3 energy's prized (and maybe player around that fact better if I prize checked my energy's) Edit: I am not really for calling people out, but that person disrespecting the gentlemans agreement you should call them out. Just so others wont fall for it.
Just a note, judges by rule cannot enforce gentlemen's agreements. This is emphasized repeatedly in their training materials, it is because such conversations tends to devolve into a battle of hearsay. Now someone is allowed to call another player out for not honoring a gentlemen's agreement just don't expect a judge to enforce it; however, doxxing is a bannable offense.
Hi mr snerkertalk i was at the baltimore regionals not playing but i really wanted to meet you but could not find where you were you did good thanks for being a creator of the pokemon tcg
I think we went against the same girl! She was disrespectful to me and said super mean things to me and she still got to play while saying mean things in front of a judge!
@@SneakerTalkTCG I played against her in round 3 bolt vs zard. It went to round three and once she started losing she tried to take cards from her discard pile and put them into hand. At one point rare candy using a zard that was in her discard pile. Once the match concluded she began cry because her words "[she] cared to much"
The new system does seem to make the scene more competitive, and it takes away from the "fun" aspect of the game. Anyways, I think you handled and explained that drawn out match fine. Don't let another person's selfishness change who you are man.
It’s interesting because for vgc it actually became significantly easier to day 2. Last season we had to go 7-2, now we have to go 6-2 and the extra game basically doubles day 2 this year
Hey at 1st november me and some people from greece we will go at first regional! Can you explain us how is there? i mean it is some shops? What exist in the area? what we need have with us and all that stuffs! ?
I had a similar situation where I could’ve won but didn’t because I was trying to be nice. During a league challenge, b01, I was playing Charizard vs Lugia. At some point in the game, 6 prize to 2, my opening searches with archeops, picks up his deck, and instead of checking his hand, he checks his 2 remaining prize cards. I let it go because I didn’t want to be “that guy” and then some unlucky draws later, I take a knock out to get down to 4, he bricks, I draw boss’s orders and have Charizard on board. Long story short, I tried to call the judge who had no idea what to do, and some time later, we were given a double game loss
You gotta stand up to those people and call a judge especially if they play against someone who doesn’t know the rules or a younger kid who may feel intimidated to call a judge . Do it for them
yo i been trying to get semi competitive but dont have the cards to play certain matchups just wondering where is good to find a group to practice/play certain matchups on ptcgl
I think you should stand for yourself in those situations because you sounded like you regret it. But if you won't, then don't talk about it and accept the loss like a grown man with no regrets.
Stuff like this turned me off to playing in person. I felt like i really cant relax and just enjoying playing, i have to constantly keep an eye of cheating and feeling like im rude if i ask if a mistake was made. I also played a League Cup where i realized that I cheated by mistake and took extra cards off my ultra ball because I thought i played Nest Ball and Artazon at the same time. During my opponents turn I thought to myself "How did i get extra cards on my bench?" I recognized it and told him and conceeded. He was cool about it but other people around him heard me say it and I guessed pegged me as a cheater and the next few players were rude to me after that. I called myself out. I dunno what to do. My social anxiety kills me in these events even though they are super fun to be a part of. Id love to stop overthinking and just be able to get in the zone and enjoy myself.
You gotta stand up to those people and call a judge especially if they play against someone who doesn’t know the rules or a younger kid who may feel intimidated to call a judge . Do it for the fans Also we need to see a ban in stall decks . They often just force ties which like you said is the same as a loss. And in a bo3 50 round format they take to much time
19:49 the funny part about this is a lot of people think zard is favored into espathra. Also as espathra enjoyer I will say playing against a good zard player makes the matchup a lot closer. Rad zard can swing the game back for them really quickly. I've been playing since like 2017 and only ran into two or three people that I thought were cheating or being sketchy and only ended up calling a judge once. I've called a judge on myself several times if I messed up but you must have bad luck or something to run into stuff like this every tournament
Yeeeeeeah I had someone get pretty aggressive with my at Knoxville 2 years ago, had security come over and everything. People be crazy for points sometimes.
Gotta run heavy ball if they’re going greedy with 2 don 😭 I’ve been there once where I prizes 3 dons no heavy ball… but to have his unlucky at a regional is extra salt on the wound 💔
The tournament structure sucks but people need to chill with the gentleman's stuff. Just play faster, idk why people make it so convoluted when the simple answer is just play faster
Started playing this year and went to LA regionals on the first week I started playing. I was having fun playing until i paired with this women who kept saying they are willing tutor me on the game with pay WHILE THEY ARE LOSING, at round 3 when I was about to take game I flipped a card on accident when drawing then I lost.
lol It was still a good call! Just to be safe I won't, if I name drop them I'm at risk for "targeted harassment" and could face a 6-month ban. I would name drop if they did something like hard-cheating
I know the dragapult player personally, and I've had 0 issues playing him at locals. Definitely call a judge if this is happening, though, because right now, it sounds like you're just complaining after the fact and making stuff up 😅

Well if the tie is equivalent to a loss doesn't that make the term tie meaningful in that instance🤔🫠
Tie is only = to a loss when you have 1 loss already. In a 9 round tournament most players will lose 1 game, so ties FEELBAD 😵💫😭
