Blackpink debuted with Boombayah and Whistle which were simultaneously released. Whistle is actually my favorite of the two.
The 4 BLACKPINK girls trained for 4 to 6 years before debuting and their training was 14 hours a day (Monday to Saturday), in Korea it is a privilege to debut in a YG group since unlike other YG companies Only one group debuts every 5 or 7 years, that is, they have very few groups, YG's training is so good that the trainers who do not debut in YG, the vast majority easily debut in another company because YG's training is very complete and exhausting. .
Interesting to note, In their Netflix documentary LIGHT UP THE SKY, Teddy Park, their writer/producer said "We almost didn't release WHISTLE as a debut song, most people at the company were against because it's super minimal and has this weird Country vibe." They released it anyway and it went on to break the record for the fastest that a new artist hit Number One in the charts, after only thirteen days.
wow idk how i forgot "Light Up the Sky", its their Netflix documentary, its an hour and 20 minutes long but its one of my favorite things ever.
Welcome to the legends of kpop: BLACKPINK, these 4 women marked a before and after in the music industry, they are not kpop, they are icons, the 4 pillars of kpop are: singing, visual dance and showbiz, BLACKPINK surpassed them all, To the point that they are global references in these 4 aspects, BLACKPINK's motto is: "BLACKPINK IS THE REVOLUTION" and believe me, they are, the best thing about them is their attitude and personality, their humility is like that of rookie idols, I mean no. They are neither arrogant nor conceited, they are super noble, simple and above all they love and respect their fans, that is what makes them special.
they have Blackpink House which is alot of Blinks "first" Blackpink reality/variety show, theres 12 episodes each broken up into 4 or 5 parts each 8-12 minutes long. They take a 100 day vacation together, it came out during their rookie years (2018) before Ddu Du Ddu Du released. Theres Blackpink Tour Diaries which chronicles their first 1st world tour (2018-2019) where theyre still getting the hang of things. Theres Blackpink 24/365 which includes their first full album promotions in 2020 and just them playing games and stuff together. Most recent is B.P.M (born pink memories) Rolls which is after their 2nd full album in 2022 and chronicles mostly their 2nd world tour behind the scenes, coachella headlining included. theres some more but those are the basics.
💪They finally react to the biggest girl group in history, not only in Korea but globally, BLACKPINK is so big that 10 days ago FORBES KOREA named BLACKPINK as the #1 most powerful celebrity in all of Korea in 2024 (including actors, politicians, artists and athletes) and that BLACKPINK is on histus (pause) since 2022, imagine its impact? thank you very much for the reaction.
Whistle is still on one of my favorite Blackpink songs. And, I have no idea how Jisoo saying “Shhh” hasn’t gone viral. Seriously.
BLACKPINK has 4 reality shows.
The oldest is "BLACKPINK HOUSE" with 64 episodes, I do not recommend it because it is very long.
the second is "BLACKPINK DIARIES," I do recommend this one, it only has 16 episodes and shows the group's first world tour 2018-2019.
The third is "24/365" it has 17 episodes and shows all their activity in 2020 when they released their first full album
and the most recent is "BPM ROLL" (37 episodes) from 2022-2023 where they show part of their world tour BORN PINK WORLD TOUR which is The biggest K-pop tour in history, a tour that raised $330 million in 66 dates.

They only have 40 songs but their level and quality is so superior that that alone is enough to become the biggest girl group in history.
The songs that DO NOT have a music video (as they do not have subtitles) I recommend that you watch them in COLOR CODED LYRICS, look for it on TH-cam, they are the same songs but with a translation and on the screen they show who of the 4 is singing.
WHISTLE was the fastest debut Kpop song to win a music award in the history of Kpop, just 4 days after debuting, a record that only IVE was able to break in 2021.

The best show to know them is Blackpink House. They live together for 100 days and you get to know them very well, they are really cute. But that was in 2018 and they were young. So another recomendation if you want something more recent is Blackpink 24/365 (2020) which every episode is different (play games, behind the scenes of some music videos, etc). I would go for Blackpink House first.

Do you want to go through the music first or the content first (or a combination)? Because I saw a lot of good comments on their shows and all that. Regarding music it is almost easiest to go in order from oldest to last. If your just doing videos and not the songs without I highly recommend going chronologically, as there are references in Shutdown to older MVs.
