  • In this video, I take you through the suspenseful journey of creating my very own epoxy chess set. From mixing the epoxy to carefully pouring it into the mold, every step had to be executed perfectly to avoid disaster.
As I was holding my breath, the epoxy just didn't look right, causing panic to set in. Watch as I navigate through this nail-biting experience and come out victorious in the end.
If you're a fan of DIY projects or simply enjoy a good story of triumph over adversity, this video is a must-watch. Don't miss out on the excitement as I show you how my epoxy chess set almost failed but ultimately succeeded.

I'm working on an epoxy chess board just now, so this popping up in my feed was great timing! Good work, looks stunning

So what happened was it just an off ratio mix that screwed with the catalyst process?

I’m guessing so. Like you saw in the video I only had those small cups and I think with multiple mixes one or two of them was off

They are good for small mixed but I underestimated the amount of epoxy I would need

Epoxy seems to be the most random thing until people become experts. It beats my brain, so you have my sympathy.

also... I have some beads I poured 5 years ago and they're still sticky. I blame the colourant I used, or.. .er... I guess I might have got the mix wrong. Never going to be entirely sure. :/

I’ve been experimenting with it for a couple years now. When you get it right it can turn out amazing but when you screw it up it’s ruined.

Since you used green in the board, why didn’t you use green instead of black pieces? Curious not criticism

I just figured black and white pieces would “pop” in the surface
