That 2.7 V6 in the Suzuki Grand Vitara (Vitara is pronounced "vuh-taa-ruh") it was co-developed with Mazda and Toyota, it's actually a good engine. It was later replacement by the horrible GM HFV6.
I had a 2008 Saturn Vue. Never had a single issue with the engine, BUT, the transmission was another story. Thankfully warranty covered it. I really liked my blue Vue. My wife loved her silver 2005 Saturn Ion.
@@BigBobbo64 Got my daughter an '08 vue xr last year at the auction. It was just under 150k with zero maintenance done, hence why they unloaded it. After replacing all coolant and coolant accessories, tune up and belt etc, this thing so far has been great! I know the issues that come with these but seems like they are either loved or hated not much in between
It’s actually surprising how quick trucks sell. Even people that complain about gas prices will still go buy a truck. And people who daily drive and don’t even do truck things will buy a truck. Kinda boggles my mind. Maybe it’s a pickup thing. I’ve only owned 1 pickup in all my 58 car ownership And it technically wasn’t a real truck. It was a Toyota Tacoma dual cab 4 cyl SR5 And it actually was great on fuel and small tank for a truck. And drove like a suv then a truck.
The Honda V6 in that Saturn is one of the easier timing belt jobs out there. But the transmission attached to those early ones also sucks. If it’s high mileage it’s probably not worth saving
1:36 i just never understood why they would run the air intake across the engine block. It just looks ridiculous and it increases the ait by heating the air in the intake before sucking into the engine. It just looks like an after thought lol. Like they installed the motor and was like "crap, where do we put the air filter?" All they had to do was swap the battery and the air box 🤦♂️
Hey Randy, that 2006 Mini Cooper S JCW GP (1st version) is a rare production release of 2,000 worldwide. To date, there has been 3 GP versions with limited production runs of 3,000 units worldwide.
Good morning Randy I just got done watching your Copart walk around. Did you post it for us this morning? I just want to tell you that you’re doing a wonderful wonderful job. I hope you had a merry Christmas and just keep the videos coming for all of us as much as you can I’ll talk to you soon. See you later buddy.
you cant kill suzukis - these are solid platforms - thx for sharing - I know you call em garbage but they run - my neighbor has one with 200k+ and still runs - your comments about the Hyundai H - when you follow them the brakes lights remind me of a dog-bone - lolz
06 Suzuki XL7 and it was one of the best cars we were ever had put over 220,000 miles on it gave it to my daughter and somebody T-bones her it was totaled😢
Randy, that Santa Fe looks like it’s trying to cosplay as a Ford Flex, and honestly, I’d take the Flex any day over that Hyundai. That one was the SE trim-bare-bones, bottom-shelf, nothing fancy. It’s the kind of trim where you’re lucky if they threw in floor mats.
Hey Randy, thanks for posting the heavily discounted VIN check link. I appreciate it, as the car history report told quite a different story than we were led to believe. No accidents but practically no maintenance either for 8 years as there were only three oil changes in almost 60,000 miles!
The Suzuki engine is GM Yes, the 2.7 V6 engine found in some Suzuki vehicles, particularly the XL7, is actually sourced from General Motors (GM), meaning it is essentially a GM engine used by Suzuki; this partnership allowed Suzuki to offer a V6 option in their lineup without developing the engine entirely on their own.
My grandmother has a 2000 Chrysler 300 m and its red. it has around 90,000 miles and its a flood car. Its in good shape and my grandmother never drove it that much and the interior is mint. Only thing it needs is an alternator. She passed away march of this year and the car is just sitting.
The Saturn VUE 4cyl were better as far as longevity over the V6. But the biggest issues were those automatic transmissions. Saturns manual transmission On all 6 of my Saturns they passed 200k miles easy. But def noticed after 2002 ish those ignition/security immobilizer systems were wonky. Random no starts Keep key in for few mins and try again. Would start
Hi randy, I think you should check out more Honda/Acura content on your channel, and I think a lot of people would enjoy that. You missed a 2019 (That's my guess) Acura MDX at 16:44. May you please check that out?
Hey Randy, getting that Suzuki Grand Vitara would be a good first-timer vehicle. The V6 was more dependable compared to the inline-4’s, but of course if properly maintained and not drove hard & put away wet. As for it having GM components, you got it mixed up with the Suzuki XL7 (no hyphen) as that’s based on the Theta platform alongside the Chevrolet Equinox and Saturn Vue between 2007 to 2009 model years.
Get the mini, I would love to see it on the channel. I love the Suzuki but I will only buy one that is 4X4, that one wasn't. I love the PT and I know you already got it so nice job. Great walk around from the master himself. Looks like AAR is going to get bigger and better for the New Year, so Happy New Year everyone. 😀✌❤🍾🎉✨🎊
Wait until you get in a redesigned 2025 Chevrolet Equinox. No more shifter in the center console. The shifter is now a flimsy plastic stalk on the right side of the steering column. Pull back and down for forwards, pull back and up for reverse and push in the button on the end for park. I’m wondering how long before some big strong guy gets in one and breaks it? I work in the service department of a Chevrolet dealership.
Thats a Mini GP! Thats the quickest Cooper at the time and very limited run, i have a buddy here in NY that specializes in Minis and he has a tuned one and loves it, even if it doesnt run you can get it to run again very easily....new head, timing chain, and whatever else, it would be a little runner!
The RAM pickup with the damaged root looks like it hit a bridge while sitting on a car carrier truck top level... I have one of those Chrysler 300M Specials, Blue exterior, white interior, in better shape... I have had it off the road, due to my wife's injuries, as she was unable to get in and out of it... I plan on puting it back on the road in the spring, unless I sell it... That Crown Vic looks interesting...
My great uncle had a vue and he loved them. Unfortunately he got in a wreck and totaled it. And not to long after he got sick and wound up in assisted living. We had to fight with insurance to get the claim closed down because we obviously wanted to cancel the policy but with the accident we had to wait
Considering he has that PT cruiser already sitting in his yard this is a past video. I was going to say I haven’t heard him mention about looking for another possible car for nick to trade In past few videos. Am going to assume he’s going to keep and drive the Saab at least drive it until it starts giving issues. 👍 it really is a good looking/running car.. don’t see too many of them around (least not around here in ct
You had me dying with the Hyundai comments (I also agree 1000%) but man, I lost it when you looked at that shifter and said "WTF" is this? LMAO I hear ya man plus it's also backwards!
That suzuki is not a bad car build to the price so it's a busket of parts from many manufacturers, it's timing chain motor. Thay known to burn oil so you need to keep eye on it, they not to bad off road to whit lock difs and full time 4x4 chuck lift kit and some chunky tires you got your self cheap bushbasher 😊. Forgotten to mention changing oil filter is bit tricky and to service transmission it's very interesting and pricey if done by workshop.
The MINI GP is a John Cooper works GP 1st limited model 2000 units, only 2 seats, rare fun car (corrected)
Wow I’d love to have that little car
The one in the video isn't the 301hp model. That one only came in auto. Im guessing this is the 228hp turbo 2.0. Still a cool car.
For the 2006 model year known as the GP1, they only made 2,000 units worldwide. This is what the one in the video is.
I have a 05 JCW it's a relay
@justintardif9527 is the relay in the ignition switch or am I thinking of another car?
That 2.7 V6 in the Suzuki Grand Vitara (Vitara is pronounced "vuh-taa-ruh") it was co-developed with Mazda and Toyota, it's actually a good engine. It was later replacement by the horrible GM HFV6.
Suzuki has a lot of good vehicles back then, besides the Daewoo and GM rebadges.
The XL7 was a garbage vehicle, rebadged Equinox/Torrent.
When looking at the dash, I did get Mazda vibes.
@@Reaper1008 for me I thought of my Corolla a little bit
@isaacsorensen8377 I haven't been in any Toyota in a long time. So it may look more like that.
The amount of glove boxes you close 😂. Nice to see you respect other people's property. Good for business :)

That MINI JC Works is one of 3000 race cars made legal for the road.. make sure your heart is in good shape.
Those Suzuki sidekicks were like the tracker and they are great on gas...
The Honda V6 in that Saturn is one of the easier timing belt jobs out there. But the transmission attached to those early ones also sucks. If it’s high mileage it’s probably not worth saving
I rented a loaded Hyundai Palisade last spring and it was fairly awesome. My only complaint was it was a bit thirsty.
They usually impress; in the beginning. And then they disappoint
I didn't know we hav a say in an Insurance claim like tht. Thank u 4 sharn Randy.

Fantastic video Randy. Many thanks 😊 🙏
3.5 is a Honda engine in that Vue
did the buick century have one of those million mile motors ?
4:13 where i’m from that is not rusted out, that’s pretty clean.

There was a 90s Jaguar sitting behind that Buick Century you showed earlier in the video.
Get the PT Crusier.. Since I seen the video that u bought it already lol..
7000 in MN for Suzuki or more people love them here
06 Suzuki XL7 and it was one of the best cars we were ever had put over 220,000 miles on it gave it to my daughter and somebody T-bones her it was totaled😢
Randy I had a 2003 Suzuki grand and it was the short wheel base version I enjoyed the vehicle hope you can get it.
Randy, that Santa Fe looks like it’s trying to cosplay as a Ford Flex, and honestly, I’d take the Flex any day over that Hyundai.

The Vue used a Honda engine and transmission for a few years. The engine was the J35S1 if I remember correctly.
That Mini Cooper is a special cars and would be a good one. I bet the starter is just locked up. Common on them.
The Suzuki engine is GM

Watchjrgo loves the shifter on the hyndai
57 Min walk ..thank you randy
I had a late 90s Suzuki side kick 4x4 and that thing was still running at 300thousand miles.. ...and would go anywhere off rd!
Hey Randy that was a Honda motor it's factory for some Saturn cars
Merry Xmas to you and your family 👪 ❤️
Pick up the mini.. I wanna see that back on the road.
Great walk around😃
Randy you sounded just like that lady that sings that’s ford ranger song lmao 😂😂
Randy did you notice the Yukon denali with a 1500 bed on the back next to the Saturn Vue ? 😂
That PT Cruiser is at your yard
I hope you have a good new year Randy .
One of my co-workers had a Saturn Vue that was red
Good morning Randy. The Saturn Vue is a good looking SUV. The Ram 1500 is a good looking truck even though it's got some front end damage.
You should get the Suzuki grand Vitara Randy it would be a nice little suv for someone especially with low miles like this I would get it 😊
I always liked those extended cab Dakota 4x4's that look like a mini Ram.
get the white suzucki and the jp cooper mg...just rebuild it
You got screwed at IAA… in a good way? Or maybe not ! Glad it didn’t go through the sneaker, thank god it wasn’t a flip flop or a crock.
YOU MISSED A OLD DODGE PICKUP AT CLOCK NUMBER 651TIME AND IT'S A RED TRUCK

That poor Saturn. White dodge is grab it. Thinking that Suzuki will go cheap. Too bad the Z is damaged so nice. Mini cooper is interesting.
That PT looks familiar lol

PT Crusier - Do it!
