This was the best video of all the videos related to Tithonia. Thanks
Wow, thank you!
I have the red variety and the butterflies and hummingbirds LOVE them. I also have one plant that has both yellow and red flowers. I am harvesting as many seeds as possible too 😊
I started using the leaves and stems around my bananas in my garden...it gives great results.
Thanks for sharing and I got two yesterday!
Thank you for your video, I love this plant!
love the info..Easy to understand and follow!! Thanks Guys!!
Could it be planted in a pot? 🤔
I'm afraid it'll get out of hand😬
Thanks in advance for your help❤
It can, it will still grow large and lean over eventually. Regular cutting is required, potted or in ground to keep under control
Great video. Keep them coming. 👍👍
Thanks Mike!
Lots of good info 🙂
I have comfy. Planted moringa. This is my next.
Really helpful. Just bought some here in Longwood and I was nervous about it taking over but this helped with the explanation about where to cut.
Found a bunch here in South African .
I cross a river when going to work .
I have them on my table
They also attract butterflies. I have the orange variety and the butterflies are on them all day.
is the orange variety the same as the one shown in video?
@@autumn1231 They are Mexican sunflowers but they have more side branches.
@@marvinhueske3203 thanks!
The orange variety is rotundafolia, not the same plant, doesn't have the same nutrient value or grow the same.
@@thereidfarm1 thanks for the clarification. I didn't think they were the same. BTW my last name is Reid. Great video.
I wasn't aware that it actually has an npk ratio! Kewl!
Yes, it's an amazing plant!
If you keep on cutting that will slowdown the plant to flower though right??
They flower in late summer, if you'd like flowers, leave it alone later in the season
Should i grow this from brown stemp too?
What other colors do the flowers come in?
Just yellow, the orange flower is a different species, rotundafolia
I would like to see the bananas after application of the chop and drop
Hi! I just found this video and I would really like to grow this. How can I get in touch with you about purchasing some stalks?
Are there two varieties? I see seeds for sale. Some say they're sterile seeds. Yet our local gov say they're spread by seeds.
Maybe there's an annual and perennial variety. One with sterile seeds one with fertile seeds.
I'm in Oz or I'd buy some cuttings.
Out of the hundreds of thousands of seeds I've seen fall on the ground, maybe 10 of them have sprouted.
How can it prepare it as folliar fertilizers?
We haven't done that, but I'd imagine fermentation would be best
Hi Reid farm, is the tithonia nutrient composition a fact? This is could be very helpful
According to everything I've read, as well as in the field testing, it performs well.
Does it have any hormones or features that suppress the growth of new seeds and plants? I saw someone on another video claiming it wasn’t a great fertilizer after all, and made their lemons brown, and retarded growth all around itself.
I suspect that had other issues going on. We use it daily as feed and fertilizer, have for years. Retarded growth in my experience gas been due to herbicide poisoning, specifically I've seen leaf curl when exposed to an herbicide.
