Thanks for the inspiration. Ive deliberately not watered my lawn this year so i can do this to my front yard. Still planning it out. I sympathize with you on bindweed. Its the worst weed ever. And its very hard overcome. Seeds can live up to forty years. Ive even tried digging it up but as you are aware....it can grow back with just an inch of root left in the ground. Its really a shame that food plants are not as resilient and persistent. Imagine the amount of food we would have if veggies grew like weeds. :)

Bindweed is edible (cooked) - it is a "cousin" of sweet potatoes. There are several videos on YT about how to prepare it.
Ditto on all the positive comments! Its cool to see how many trees you have and I am celebrating with you on all the fruit trees that are finally producing! (I just planted 10 trees this spring and hopefully will plant more next spring so I have a ways to go before I get fruit, but my berries are doing pretty well)
