Thanks for stopping by! I'm hyped to work on the 240sx again! Here are some things mentioned within the video: Finding an Abandoned 240sx in the woods: th-cam.com/video/oiMjr6et9Lo/w-d-xo.html How to Remove a 240sx Quarter Panel: th-cam.com/video/V94xIWqNbcw/w-d-xo.html Full Smashed 240sx Story: th-cam.com/play/PLvRjLBi1aX6eB7BfVjBzcbZiXg0efFEAC.html See ya next time!
One of the reasons this channel is so great is because each video you’ll show the process of something once, but then when you need to do it again you’ll just tell us what you’re about to do and then skip to when it’s done. Like drilling out spot welds. I wish every channel was like that
He will! :) Just needs some time for thoughts as to how to do some things and how to present the content to us and everything will get done very soon ;D
@16:59, the best way to clamp lal 3 layers together tight and secure is to use tech screw. itll hold all 3 panels in place and it will keep them tight, then once you have all of your plug welds filled in, just remove the tech screws and weld them up as well. only need 1 tech screw every 9' to 13" depending on how badly the 3 panels are fighting you to stay tight together. use more as needed =]
You are one of my biggest inspiration to just keep going in life although bs happens sometimes. Hope you will keep making videos forever, I love listening to you!
You are an inspiration for me, even tho im 15 and im driving only 3 years from now (18 is the minimum age here in South America) there's an abandoned Volkswagen in my street that i may try to make it work again ( the thing is from the 80s and it's stopped for around 20+ years)
Just started following you yesterday I have my driver's ed stuff in Canada that I'm doing today and tomorrow and them I have to go for my 10 in hour driving sessions. Learning about cars and what not. You are so awesome to watch and very informative bro! Keep up the good videos!
i love watching you nerd about all the spotwelds and seams, it's super interesting to see nissans design choices the new wheel well looks so good too, much cleaner than the one (or rather, half) that was originally on there
I love your content, I started watching prolly 4 months ago but when I started watching I was hooked I went back and watched all of your restoring the 240 sx. Only TH-cam channel I've actually consistently watched since I was a kid keep up the great content!
I'd use the zinc weld thru primer. I had a mini truck project that sat outside for years in the grass and the zinc primed spots never showed signs of rust
If you can find a piece of brass, block etc, you can use it as a backing to help weld big gaps and to prevent blowing out. The weld wont stick to the brass :)
Great progress, have been watching since the accident and you have changed me along way look forward to seeing this done and you back enjoying what you have accomplished 👍
Ngl, you are kinda the only reason I bought my project car. I always wanted one, but was holding back due to the amount of rust that comes with the type of car I bought. Made the step couple of weeks ago and its the best decision ever. Your videos are so helpful when it comes to understanding things and fabricating/repairing parts.
Really digging the rebuild and the great welding tips. I'm a welder and fabricator so I already know, but great to see the next generation having a real passion for metal fab. A couple tool suggestions buy a pair sheet metal flanging pliers. They will allow you to overlap your spilces by putting a step in it. And finger clamps to reach tough spots.
Fully welding the wheel well is the way to go before the quarter work. The odds of getting a 3 layer weld and getting them tightly together is very unlikely. Also some teek screws would help you hold things together .
Stoked for all this progress, nice job Mike. If you're feeling spicy, id recommend sound dampening the whole car while she's apart. Makes a hell of a difference especially on older cars in my experience. Might cost a penny but its so worth it.
I still think you should do a live stream or sell some merch to pay to have the car dipped and treated. You have done great staying ontop of what you touched, I worry about the hidden stuff from factory. Or use the funds to give it a top notch paint job and your gf's 240. Would be cool to see the 2 next to eachother done in his and hers colours 🤘
Although I don’t agree with how you do some things. I freaking love the fact that you explain how and what you are doing at all times. I feel this helps people who are too intimidated to work on their own cars. Keep it up !!!
I don't know much about cars or mechanic stuff but the way you explain things is really nice and your filming is really fun to watch. also don't think your sick transitions wont go unappreciated. they get better each video. love all the content you put out.
Hey Mike I just want to say thank you for these videos. You are a huge inspiration to me and the only reason why I believe I can fix my crashed integra. I also wanted to ask how many spot weld drill bits you've been through cause I've already been through like 10 of them lol
when drilling out your spot weld pilot holes, try only drilling enough for the needle of the spot weld bit to sit in, its spring loaded and designed to push the top panel away from the lower one, with a hole straight through it doesnt have anything for the needle to push on :)

The way I think about it is: would I really want to watch me drilling out spot welds for 3 hours? 😅
Thanks Jason 🔥
It is so cool knowing how a car comes together :O
You don't see these things anymore, hope you'll be able to save it and drive it again soon :)
He will! :) Just needs some time for thoughts as to how to do some things and how to present the content to us and everything will get done very soon ;D
I've seen plenty of frame off restoration shows of old cars. Never seen a unibody chopped and re-built like this!
the anti s-chassis owner, super friendly and actually gives out information

having a guy work on a car not at a mega shop is so nice to watch love the videos!
You are one of my biggest inspiration to just keep going in life although bs happens sometimes. Hope you will keep making videos forever, I love listening to you!
Best weld-thru primer i have used is copper based U-Pol Weld #2... good stuff!
you're really making me proud with all the rust prevention! So many youtubers skip these steps. Great job!

Can’t wait for this to be finished, been watching since the tear down! Awesome videos and great work man!
I love how you guide through what you do, really helps people not make mistakes!
I can see your quality of work improving along with your methods of panel replacement. Work is coming out really clean and nice.
Glad to be here for this long alredy. Its amazing watching everything coming together like that
Absolute hero. The things you can do at home
Can't wait to see how you do your custom interiors, step by step getting closer.
i love watching you nerd about all the spotwelds and seams, it's super interesting to see nissans design choices

Good advice was going to say… better use weld thru primer

I love that you think a lot before cutting/drilling into a car, a lot of prople are just butchers and dont think about other people 😁🤙
Great progress, have been watching since the accident and you have changed me along way look forward to seeing this done and you back enjoying what you have accomplished 👍
I WANT THIS QUARTER PANEL ON!
SAMEEE
Still here from the crash!!! Love it bro you’re almost there 🎉

2:55 propane or map torch... softens it right up and can usually just peel it away by hand or with a scraper.
I’m really glad to see your channel doing good hope all is well
I've been watching you do this car and i love it. Was a nice job.

Still subbed!!!!!! You gave me the motivation to get my car done for the season thank you!!!!!!
You're killing me, Mike! I was so excited to finally see the quarter go on! Ugh, guess I'll have to wait for the second half of the video! Great job.
You’ve come along way, amazing! 👍❤️🇨🇦

Hey Mike I just want to say thank you for these videos. You are a huge inspiration to me and the only reason why I believe I can fix my crashed integra. I also wanted to ask how many spot weld drill bits you've been through cause I've already been through like 10 of them lol
The trick is make sure you are at 90 degrees to the weld, and don't push too hard, let the drill do the work.
Jsem svářeč a svařil jsem přes 1mlion škoda Octavia na zadním podběhu jsem pracoval často. Dobrá práce kámo!🛠️👍

Good morning Mike awesome back to work on the 240 almost gonna be hole again 👍🏼🙏🏽🤙🏽😊
Cadillac is coming along nicely
Ahh amazing Saturday morning content.
Let's goooo!!!!! Love these build videos🫰
when drilling out your spot weld pilot holes, try only drilling enough for the needle of the spot weld bit to sit in, its spring loaded and designed to push the top panel away from the lower one, with a hole straight through it doesnt have anything for the needle to push on :)
and then you also wont have any holes in the back panel you want to keep
Great tip! I guess that makes sense why it's spring loaded
Love your content. I watch almost everything if I can. :)
Don't worry I look forward to your videos every Saturday and if I don't see one when I wake up then I check your channel just to make sure
Thes cars new name should be T-BONE. Fits perfectly I think.
