    This is surprisingly relatable as a college student dealing with deadlines. Finding a balance between working and taking time for yourself is really challenging

      As it is with life, I assure you! Unfortunately I didn't care much for my school work, so I neglected that. But now that I'm working for myself on what I want to work on, I feel a much stronger drive.

    Ooh related too much to beating myself up for not getting as much done or being as focused. (Also totally related to 2:24 haha)

      I deal with it all the time. I'm still getting better at just learning to stop and accept that tomorrow I'll do better

    Hey hey from Barcelona Runway/airplane/Airport
    Question - where do you find your wonderful tunes for your videos.
    FYI yes! Schedule is vital. I work from home 90% of the time and having a standard start/stop is crucial. I also try to have designated “work area” vs relaxing area

      Ah, the joy of airports. As for the music, not kidding when I say this, but royalty free elevator music is always a good search. But I also pay for a couple music sites since I'm a video editor. Art List and Sound Stripe are the two I use.

    I've been freelancing pretty much without really expecting it and considering it serious job for about 3 years, making content writing out of nothing. One of those opportunities that just come! But since a month ago i was actually needing the money, so for the first time i've actually accepted that *i'm working*.
    And the funny thing is that it's just my life, spending lots of time in the computer, and doing other things, like running, going to university. So the unknown for me is actually going work everyday, like, physically!
    One thing is true, i haven't fully experienced the freelance experience in the sense of actually looking for different clients. I have always worked on a pretty stable contract fashion. Which is nice for me, less anxiety. But way worse payments!
    Thank you for sharing a bit of your life with us Kurt!

      Also, do you by any chance know spanish? Or are you interested on learning the language?
      It's just, there's a guy from Spain who's been uploading super high quality content about videogames and cinema, making really awesome reviews about films, games; as well as analyzing the story of a game genre, such as shooters. And i just think you'd loooooove this guy! His channel is Dayoscript.
      And in case you don't happen to speak spanish. Check it out anyway? I want you both to know each other ):
      Edit: I heard about Night in the Woods for the first time thanks to him, he cannot be a bad guy right?

    LOL, so, I went to look at a new career as a marketeer where I would be my own boss, but would give up teaching. I suppose the questions (which I already know the answer to) would be... would you rather make more money doing something you don't really like for financial independence and wealth, but may be unhappy doing it. I like teaching, I just need to find a way to make more money for the work I put in, as my wife at some point just told me to chill out. Thus, I just went back to things and focusing on making games again. Also, I started playing the Witcher 3 related to your last video. Thank you.

    Those Deadly Premonition cards are super cool.
    Creating and sticking to a proper work schedule is definitely vital if your working for yourself as your own boss and it’s something I’m honestly not very good at maintaining.
    As much as I try, getting stuff done in the mornings is just impossible for me. My brain is empty and just unmotivated.
    I found that I’m a late night person and that I am most productive and most creative and excited about what I’m doing from the afternoon to around 3:00 am.
    Something I have adapted into my personal work that I’m glad I did is, proper planning. Planning has become the most valuable thing for me and it keeps me on track. Plan everything. Plan how a project will be, always have dates in mind and what is suppose to happen on those dates. Sometimes, my tweets are even preplanned. I would wait for a certain date to post and know what I’m going to post for weeks ahead of time sometimes.
    Planning = executing

    • @KurtIndovina
      @KurtIndovina  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Planning on dates are EVERYTHING. I'd also suggest on over estimating on how long everything will take. Anything you think is going to take a week, make it two. Just because. You have no idea what could get in the way of that.
      (Those DP cards are my only set of cards too, and I love them.)

    • @snowconesolid
      @snowconesolid 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KurtIndovina EXACTLY! That's another thing, usually things never go as planned because there are so many variables we don't think about when planning. A one month project can easily turn into a 5-month project. Never go into a project fully comfortable. Even if its something small, don't underestimate the complexity of anything.

    My Freelance experience is so similar to yours. I normally have the option to break it up a bit though with a trip to work out of an office for a day a week, so that helps me not go a little crazy. I love WFH though it gives me opportunities that non-freelancers don't have #WhatsUpTheStairs

    • @KurtIndovina

    Working from home myself, I can relate soo much. Recently I joined a gym to keep things a bit 'active'. I feel less bored now during my time working. So I'd recommend the same for u. & Amazingly awesome video as usual 😎🤗

    Definitely not enough subs! I really enjoy the stuff you make! Keep going! Right now I'm about half your way. Part freelance part full time. I mean I work full time but when I come back home, I do even more stuff. It's a bit exhausting but I'm happy anyway! I'm doing what I love and I love what I'm doing :) But I think sometimes, that I should spend more time just for fun and hobbies... like gaming! Back years, in high school I can play all day and all night, now... there is not enough hours in one day.

      Thank you so much, Narim. And, for a while, I was in the same boat. I was working full-time at a newspaper, and then coming home and working on freelance projects until all night. I once pulled 24 hours straight of doing both, and it was a really bad move on my part... but I did it. Anyway! Thanks for watching. Keep going! And, of course, give yourself some time to enjoy what makes you happy.

    What kind of music do you listen to while working?

    • @KurtIndovina

      Unfortunately, as a video editor, you really can't listen to music while working since you also have editing the audio of the video.
