I must refute your claim. SPV3's original segments perfectly embody the wonder of the Halo rings and the desperate, high-stakes struggle of the battle for Installation 04.

It absolutely does! Guitar was responsible for some of my greatest Halo 2 nostalgia moments. Particularly the type of guitar you hear in this video is the type I'm talking about.

Okay, I know that you get the comments like, "Oh this is better than 343!" and, "Wow this beautiful!" and because of that I haven't tried to leave a comment like that until now. This was amazing, and better than (in my opinion) a lot of Marty's work. Not all of it, but quite a bit. I just want you to know that this is such a good twist of the O.D.S.T. soundtrack, and that you should be very proud!

One of my favourite pieces from you my man. Somehow managed to do what not many others could: Capture the sound and tone of ODST and make it into something unique while still staying true to the original. You're so unbelievably talented. Marty's work is very difficult to replicate, yet you somehow manage to take a bit of his soul from his tracks and mould it into your own works. It's something that even 343 couldn't quite manage accomplished right, but every piece in this soundtrack oozes the soul, passion, and creativity that Marty brought to the table with Bungie.
I'm so proud of you Jafet, and I'm so happy that someone in this world was able to bring back the emotions and nostalgia that the Halo soundtrack left behind. Thank you

I love this track and "Rain", really accentuates the mood that ODST went for. I can hear that bass guitar, drawing inspiration from the track "more than his share", and the end riff from the main odst theme. Something that stood out to me though, that 3 note riff, I keep waiting for it to expand into more. I'm not sure that makes complete sense; Could be that those three notes are the usually followed by a piano medley in the original ODST ost.
Critique aside, I love the work you've done on SPV3 and Installation 01 so far Jafet, keep it up! I cant wait to see I-01 released and hear your tracks in the background of classic halo gameplay!

It's funny, with every Halo song, I don't just listen to the most audible instrument, I listen in farther, I hear the Sax first, Then Bass, Then a bit of Drums, And I got to say, it's a badass combination, along with the Trumpets (I think, I never played any instruments :P) Love your work dude, I had to put this song on repeat for hours.
Listening to this creates so much nostalgia and mystery. I love it, Thank you! I can't wait for the beta of this game!

Said this over in the i01 Public Discord but I can totally imagine scenes with Rick Deckard moving through the city with this track playing in the background. Listening to your "Rain" one at the moment and it's also pretty damn amazing. Your use of synths in both of them is spot on. They aren't overwhelming or in your face. They are subtle, yet stand out well on their own. Great job on these and hope you'll be making more of them.

This really captures ODST, Halo 3 and Halo 2 so well. Hats off to you.
The bass, guitar, keyboard/piano is just amazing.
The music with sax, reminds me of the good ol' times of The Weather Channel, which was ironically in the Bush Jr. era.
For example, like 2003-2008 TWC. When NBC Universal got TWC, which was in 2009 or shortly after 2009, IIRC,
TWC became disappointing! In short, in a good way, sounds like pre-NBC-Universal-acquisition TWC.

It's like Blade Runner and ODST had a lovechild. Two brilliant Sci-Fi franchises with an amazing tone and atmosphere.

I like it, though the rain.mp4 version will still be my most enjoyed. Having the melody be in the forefront of the piece makes it easier and more fun to hum to. With this one, it's passing in and out of the sidelines, if that makes sense.
The initial tests of the sax were closer to rain.mp4 but as we developed it I realized I wasn't taking advantage of the sax so we got back to the drawing board and started experimenting more with it. The sax solo was also longer and there are a few more variants. I eanted it to be like a cheesy noir cop action soundtrack from the beginning and I think this was the right path to take. The stems are now available to download so you can experiment with a more calm and chill version of this if you want to :)
Ah, I see. If I were to change anything, it'd be adding a lot more of the bombastic feel of rain.mp4 back on stage with the pounding beats, but hey, this is gorgeous music nonetheless. Just realized I had the .wav version of this playing on repeat in the background for the last then minutes. The sax being present does lend itself to a slower more relaxing feel than if I were to have my way. haha
And yeah, messing around with the stems would be an interesting way to spend a night, though they might be currently set to private on google,drive right now. Definite props to you and your saxophone buddy.

This is just another inspiration for me to bounce off of. I found you posted something on Gameumentary. Halo is one of the main reasons I started making orchestral music. I'm glad I found this channel. I'm still new to the genre. I've been making electronic music on and off for years. Though this type of music calls to me. It says on your patreon that you use FL studio too, I'm out of the job so I can't give much money right now, so apologies. I hope we can talk one day to pick your brain and maybe learn a thing or two, also I'm still learning how an orchestra even works haha.
By chance do you use EastWest or something like Kontakt? I have both, though I use the composercloud by East West more than I do Kontakt 5 because sound packs are stupid expensive. And yes for those wondering I bought FL studio AND bought all my VSTs. I have that lil fancy usb thingy.

Noticed a pretty cool between the two videos of this song, rain.mp4 has a more darkly colored style as if it were wet hence the rain, while this one is a bit brighter because it is dry.
Edit: that or I’m delusional, because at the time of this comment I was very very tired.
